What a lovely and clever way to decorate the garden while encouraging our feathered friends to make a home there!!! I just love this. You did a rally great job explaining all the steps and the why for each one. With the explanations comes the reason not to skip or skimp on one. Foe those that do not have yards or even apartment patios, you can make them for indoors and add an artificial bird to the opening of one and add artificial flowers, store bought or crocheted or even wet felted to hang out of the others. Thank you!!
Awesome video and project. So clear without a lot of blah, blah, blah that you don’t need if you’ve already spent time with textiles but you can always learn more. Beautiful project, going to try making one too! Thanks
Thank you so much I really, really appreciate ,so lovely voice And your explain so good I definitely try beautiful tutorial your are good teacher thank you again
Can't wait to try this. Can you recommend a good place for me to get the wools at a reasonable price please as I'd like to eventually make my own cat cave for my kitten. Thank you 😺🌸
Hi...... Great instruction I love it, but mine has turned out a bit thin and when i look inside I can see really thin areas. Do you know if I can re felt this using the same method? There are too many thin patches to needle felt unfortunately. Just wondering if you know. Thanks...Sally x
@@CleverHandsCreative Yes I did that with my first one just wondering if you know whether I can re felt it with another layer now its dried? I dont like the look so much when its needlefelted it kind of spoils the smoothness ...thanks for your reply
@@sallymackenzie7146 I see it depends how far Felted you have taken it. After a certain point there’s very few loose unfelted fibres left for any new wool to grab onto. But yes you can have a go. Of course you’ll need to wet the areas that you are felting again and use plenty soap. I would probably add a very thin wool layer on both inside and outside so you’ll get those 2 new layers trying to felt to each other will be more likely to felt than just trying to felt new wool to old have a go! Good luck. Lots of mine were too thin when I started making them too - think it’s just a learning xx
@@CleverHandsCreative Thank you, yes i see what you mean I might rough it up a bit too before I try to get it to stick... I'll have a go i think and see what happens. Many thanks
@@sallymackenzie7146 just another thought...... instead of adding more wool/ fibres.... why don’t you try felting it more? So get it under a warm running tap and really screw it up and be rough with your treatment. It will super shrink and any thinner patches will close up - just make sure you use another balloon to reshape and stretch it back out . Gosh it’s been a while since I made one! Time to make more I think soon...;)
Such a great tutorial! I’m wondering if I got a HUGE balloon or a beach ball could I make one of those kitty cat homes?
Beautiful description and clear instructions. I have some roving left over from another project and now I know how to use it up! Thank you

Thin areas are ok though! You could get a felting needle and patch thinly over some wool, keep stabbing with the needle snd it will patch over 😽
