  • My Mini Schnauzer, Ramone, has been working on a few tricks. Some of his tricks are part of his Service dog basics, others are more just for fun like; find me, roll and shake. There are other 'tricks' he knows, not shown here, which he is naturally good at, those include watch dog, barking, running off with socks, ripping up paper and sleeping in strange positions. Maybe I'll do a vid on those at some point. Let me know in the comments if you want to see more of Ramone.

    So wonderful to see a schnauzer intact. No cut tail or ears. Hes lovely. Well done.

    We taught our Miniature Schnauzer to roll over for a treat. Now we can't teach him any more. Because every time we get a treat to teach him something else, he rolls over right away. LOL

      That's so funny. I had the same thing with Ramone when he was little :-) With Ramone, I withheld the treat until he tried a different behaviour and rewarded him when he did something close to the new behaviour I was trying to train. Good luck with your trianing!

    Natural tail. Very good.

      Yes, I think he looks cool the way he is. Also, in New Zealand its illegal in almost all circumstances to dock the tail of a dog (Animal Welfare Reg 2018, section 51)

      @@AdaptiveGo The American Kennel Club standard for miniature schnauzers is to dock their tails, which I think is incredibly barbaric and outdated. Originally it had something to do with helping their hunting ability or some bullshit. New Zealand again with a win!

    My schnauzers also have long tails, very surprised when I saw yours as it’s been the first one I’ve seen besides my boys. Love it!

    I love him!!! Looks just like my Joey except for the tail. They are the smartest dogs! You have done a fabulous job training him.

    Nice video! Some additional tricks I have trained our mini: "left paw" "right paw" hold your hand under the appropriate paw and it looks like the dog knows the difference when saying the command. Rolling over both directions and playing dead is fun.

      It's amazing what they can learn and thanks for the suggestions.

    I sometimes wonder what my miniature schnauzer would look like if he didn’t have his ears and tail shortened. His ears and tail we already shortened when we got him. I still love him either way.

    U use shock at what age

    • @AdaptiveGo
      @AdaptiveGo  2 года назад +5

      I don't use shock, I prefer to use positive reinforcement (treats, pats, and play) to train.
