O Come All Ye Faithful

  • A traditional Christmas carol by John Francis Wade, performed by the Christendom College Choir & Schola Gregoriana.
"Adeste Fideles is a hymn tune attributed to English hymnist John Francis Wade (although the exact authorship is unknown and disputed). The text itself has unclear beginnings, and may have been written in the 13th century by John of Reading, though it has been concluded that Wade was probably the author.
The original four verses of the hymn were extended to a total of eight, and these have been translated into many languages many times, though the English "O Come, All Ye Faithful" translation by the English Roman Catholic priest Frederick Oakeley is particularly widespread."

What do you mean real Christmas music. If it's praising Jesus it doesn't matter if you think its good or not, it's Jesus the Lord, not your day. So get over it child.

HOW TO GO TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE--SALVATION FROM HELL
God is perfect; heaven is perfect. You and I are not. Therefore, you cannot enter heaven until your sins are cleansed away. Unless you receive God's gift of salvation you will be going to hell when you die (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:36 KJV).

ADMIT THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.
You must admit that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:10, 23 KJV).
BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS.
Jesus' death and precious shed blood, burial, and resurrection three days later pays your sin debt in full, reconciling you with God (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 5:1 KJV).

The call of the faithful to "Bethlehem" is a signal both to Catholics and those faithful to the rightful lawful king to return to England that they might prepare to reinstall the land's true lord.

What have we been thinking? How could Joseph allow the long- awaited Messiah to be born in a stable with animals, in the cold? The Lord of Glory, the King of Kings treated like an animal! There is no parent who would allow his child to be born like this. It is time we realize that this nativity scene is not celebrated in Heaven and pray to comfort Jesus who began His life in such extraordinary, tragic circumstances.

At that time and place, Mary could and would have been put to death for being with child and unwed. Joseph married Mary after she was with child! The Son of God is humble. God is Jesus's father! Jesus is the immaculate conception! Joseph was a decent, kind man who looked out for Mary and his stepson, Jesus! Later Jospeh, Mary and Jesus had to escape to Egypt for their safety! Being born in a stable with all of the friendly animals was a blessing! It was the safest place for the King of Kings, King of the Jews, Lamb of God, Lord of Light, Prince of Peace, and the Son of God to be born. A large bright Star shown very brightly in the east the night of Jesus's birth! Angles sang from heaven to proclaim the news! King Harrod had all male children the age of two and under brutally killed fearing that any of them might be the son of God! God loves all of his living creatures! Jesus loves all animals. Shepherds visited and worshipped him! It was a donkey that carried the Virgin Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem! The camels, cats, chickens, cows, donkeys, dogs, doves, goats, lambs, and roosters protected and worshipped him! The Three Kings and Wisemen riding camels brought him gifts and worshiped him! God is Jesus' father! Joseph, Mary and Jesus were Jewish. Too many Christians forget that! The Jewish Faith believes Jesus is a prophet! Jesus' s birth was the beginning of Christianity!

Well, that's one modern theory. Wikipedia: "The words of the hymn have been interpreted as a Jacobite birth ode to Bonnie Prince Charlie.[13] Professor Bennett Zon, head of music at Durham University, has interpreted it this way, claiming that the secret political code was decipherable by the "faithful" (the Jacobites), with "Bethlehem" a common Jacobite cipher for England and Regem Angelorum a pun on Angelorum (Angels) and Anglorum (English).[13] Wade had fled to France after the Jacobite rising of 1745 was crushed. From the 1740s to 1770s the earliest forms of the carol commonly appeared in English Roman Catholic liturgical books close to prayers for the exiled Old Pretender. In the books by Wade it was often decorated with Jacobite floral imagery, as were other liturgical texts with coded Jacobite meanings."
But obviously Bonnie Prince Charles was not "Christ the Lord, the Highest, most Holy, Light from Light Eternal, Born of a Virgin" etc. And apparently, "the earliest manuscript bears the name of King John IV" of Portugal, who lived a century before him.
