    Ok...so, Terry Anderson of The Woods wrote this song. The Georgia Satellites recorded it first. The Woods recorded it later. The Wildhearts recorded it and then the Volbeats. I like the Wildhearts version the best, but always give the writer props above all else.

    The only member of Lindisfarne and Widowmaker was Paul the drummer iirc.
    I worked with him in 2006/7 in Gateshead, what a great guy. He made the working day a laugh a minute

    "Battleship Chains" is a song written by Terry Anderson and made famous by the band the Georgia Satellites in 1986. Appearing on their debut album, It reached number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1] The song also appeared on the album Hindu Love Gods by the band Hindu Love Gods, a collaboration between members of R.E.M. and Warren Zevon.
