I like the wildhearts, but kudos to the icicle works, i have "if you want to defeat your enemy sing his song" and this is a cracking track, from a cracking album, well done to the wildhearts for a cover that does the original justice :)
Fantastic song. Ironically, Ian MacNabb has stated on numerous occasions that he wrote this as more or less a throwaway song and never expected it to do anything. To this day I believe he still thinks of this as one of his lesser works.
I loved this live, hadn't ever heard it before, and Ginger managed to get the guy who wrote it (presumably from Icicle works) to come to the gig and sing it on stage with them. Manchester gig on that tour, 2008 maybe?
Im a massive wildhearts fan and when i got this album i had felt i heard this one before, no pun intended, so i looked up the original and i knew it instantly, amazing song catchy as hell and both versions are great, icicle works one is a great pop song while this one packs a punch while doing it great justice nice one!!!
Absolutely brilliant! this is a faithful cover. Even the drum pattern is identical. This was (is) an amazing song.
Mikey xx
Nice that the Wildhearts gave this tune another runout, seeing that the original didn't get the credit it was due.
Already a magic tune before being covered

This is a great version of a terrific song. The original is one of the great lost moments in rock. This is cracking though.

@swcooper Ian McNabb....check him out, this is just one of many classic he has written and played....
AWESOME
My former band played this as an encore. Great garage track to let rip with.Nice version.
So catchy, so rocking - Rock on Wildhearts!
Genial
Very good cover but icicle works are still on top here
Outstanding cover of a great Icicle Works song 😁🎸😁
