Maybe if they made the exposed back a proper weakpoint we wouldn't NEED to rely on the railgun. I just bring a recoilless these days to deal with both chargers and the bile titan. Spear is good too, but the lock-on is incredibly inconsistent right now.
Its funny that nearly all of the bugs minus one or two are all leg kills for ttk. I think the bile titan, bile spewer, nursing spewer are all head/body shots. the rest minus the hive guard are all leg kills.
I don't think it's the problem. I think it's a Tarkov situation all over again. When body armor is so potent in that game, players resort shooting at the legs. And while yes, the legs do take less damage, it still applies damage rather than the torso which is completely protected.
It's not a problem downing the charger. it's the other 5 chargers, 2-3 bile titans, and the swarm spawn on top of it that are making 7-9 difficulty runs a tad difficult. Thank you, though, for showing people other viable methods for downing a charger.
People don't realize this. They act as if you will only run into one across the entirety of the mission. 7+ Difficulty they are the common enemy. Please make a tutorial on the above mentioned. I would also like a tutorial on this for Automatons. When there are 4-5 Hulks, 2-3 tanks, and a Commissar shoots up a flare. (Btw this doesn't even account for the Troopers, Rocket Troops, Scout Striders, Berserkers, and the variety of Devastators you gotta deal with. Good luck!
@negainferno6121 The one thing I can impart is that stealth as much as possible and sticking together is often a good way to mitigate breaches and to kill patrols quickly. Don't be afraid to nade nuke the little ones to avoid them calling in even more enemies. Just about every bug can summon a breach. If you do cause a breach you have two options, kill it or deal with the fact you are going to have to kite a shit show for the next 20 to 30 mins. If you are lucky there is a third option where someone get all the aggro and can kite it all away and die alone while the team gets out but that is less viable because in the higher difficulties random patrols will just spawn on top of you.
@lhellhammer Can't do it too much this patch. We were literally sneaking and my buddy stood up for a split second because he hit a rock and made him auto stand up. We were far enough away where their eyes weren't lit up and it was foggy and other terrain made it difficult and we got fired at instantly. I will try that kiting strat tho
Less power but that magazine size and reloading on the go is a must for me. I still run the default machine gun when i have friends to cover my ass on the reload.
Helldivers is all about playing smart. I use chargers as allies as they stomp smaller bugs and then just outrun / outsmart them. Hunters and stalkers are the only real threat.

I know a lot of peeps are upset with the railgun nerf. But I'm honestly loving the meta shift. I dunno if they changed things behind the scene but it feels a lot of weapons were just over looked. I used the revolver off hand to kill a charger. It was a very Jango fett moment.
As of the latest patch you can literally just oneshot the charger in the head with the EAT and you'll be done, even if you miss and hit the legs the armor will be stripped for an easy kill with your primary weapon. Recoilless rifle also works but I prefer EATs cuz you can bring in 2 every minute.
Way to go Helldiver. Ppl in this community complaining about the so called Meta is gone. The idea is to take any weapon out in the field an make it work for you. Because the best Meta is a squad of Helldivers. Get better Helldivers and keep diving.
Thats what ive been saying, many complain just because the nerf and they can't kill charger and Titan in 1 shot then procced saying other weapon is trash the game unplayable I just laughing with friend because we just use non 'meta' weapon in high diff and be fine @@Ph4trat
this is just a bug, it will get patched and then you're left with just using a flamer on them. Which i guess is fine if you can coordinate someone to use it

Recoilless Rifle takes a few seconds to solo reload, and expendable has 2 shots every 70 seconds, which is 2 chargers if u hit ur shots. Even then, with a teammate that time just gets better.
There is no guide. The best chance you got, is using orbital laser, railcannon, and 500kg bomb in bug ops to kill chargers. You won't be able to kill more than one or two with anything else. Unironically, the best strat for bugs, is running in circles until you can dive into extract. I wish I had a better alternative for you, but I don't. Sorry.
Whenever I get a stratagem to land on a charger, even though the light follows them as they move, the stratagem lands in the initial location I threw it. Gonna have to try this and see if it got patched.
Strange, ive always had the blue beam ones land directly on the charger but when i throw a 110mm rocket pod (red beam) it sticks but as you said sometimes strikes at initial impact point. Agree that it needs more testing
have you tried bating em all to hit each other? they will bump into each other if they start charging and crash with another charger besides it's not like weapons is the only way to deal with em
@@lag00n54 the risk is way too high to do that, when there are more than 2 chargers it's basically impossible to get them to collide without you dying in the mix, either to the chargers or to the other bugs around

You know i tried similar with my beloved AMR, but only shot it once. I assumed it couldn't have done much dmg, but I did notice i got not ricochet. I guess this is why the devs were saying they can't buff things yet, and we're still learning. Do bile titans have weaknesses for AMR? This video needs to go viral
With the clip at the end where you throw deployable stuff at chargers, is that consistent or do you have to try throwing it onto a specific part of their back? Sometimes it feels like my stratagems just bounce off their forehead when I try landing those

To be fair I always preferred the auto cannon to the rail gun. Deals with everything and was a most have on bot missions as you could deal with all the heavy infantry quickly and even the hulks could get fucked from the front
Wait how does that work? the sniper and machine gun do not penetrate the leg armor, yeah they can damage the leg from behind cos its not hitting armor, but does that then destroy the front leg armor? It looks like hes shooting it once or twice in the back of the leg, and then after that the front leg no longer counts as being armored??
I love how you cut out the moment a Hunter was beating you up while using the Flamethrower because that's what happens in higher difficulties. The time it takes to kill a single charger, the little bugs are already nipping your heels.
Don’t blame your lack of skill in managing priority targets on dev nerfing op weapon. Chargers can be easily dodge even if there’re 3 or 4, it’s just that you can’t make any mistakes. Clear the small bugs first cause that’s the main reason why you have less and less area to kite around
We all know how every one of those clips end, swarmed by hunters as i pressed my save clip button, but in normal gameplay i'll switch to my primary to take out hunters before engaging in these methods as they will definately lead to death. All these clips were specifically to demonstrate killing the chargers.

I guess I’ll try this method bc mostly every other method I try with the other support weapons sucked apparently when I was fighting multiple chargers. Honestly might not be bad now with the mechs.
I would love to do some more in depth testing because i can stick it 90% of the time on a charger coming at me, but very hit and miss from an angle or behind

as a driller main, i assume the flamethrower damage work similar as the stream itself would do damage ontop of the trail it makes with the DoT of fire being its own individual source as well. example: jet stream damage + fire damage from burning ground + burning effect = fire damage sandwich. damage from all 3 together felt super bad before the buff now its reasonable imo.
Honestly i'd love anti-material rifle to have a normal reticle like other guns. Dont often like switching to a scope in a third person game. As it stands it's actually really good at what it does, killing brood commanders, hive guards and spewers in 1 shot. Pairs really well with someone on the team running stalwart/machine gun
this is most definitely a bug and should be fixed. Allows the autocannon to 2 tap them as well (3 if not lucky, but the armor is broke by then so primaries work too). If this IS intended, there's no reason for the railgun nerfs
Game had a good run but update on the chargers and bile titans, you cant destroy chargers legs with any of these weapons anymore, and the bile titans can take all bullets and missiles from a mech suit and still be alive, unfortunately the last 3 updates are killing the game making it so you HAVE to have teammates who also all use strategem airstrikes on big bugs but when they don't you will constantly die until you u have to watch and spectate someone whoss on the other side of the map looking at nothing, it was a fun platinum trophy to get and challenging, but making it harder than PVP games is just a little embarrassing, they over estimated the community so much and think everyone is gonna shoot the same bile titans and chargers... being forced onto medium hard and easy difficulty has ruined the whole game, will be playing spiderman 2 new game plus again I guess and games that work.
Don't delete my comment again either, the community needs to know these things so they aren't blatantly lied to about what weapons do so they don't just stand there and let everything bounce off armor

Jetpack and shield are "second chance" tools, just enough to avoid death. But for assault - guard dog gives just enough oomph to get rid of weaker enemies, so you can focus on bigger ones
All of the console noobs are in an uproar because their meta guns got nerfed and they have to actually play the game now. Chargers were never a problem, the problem is people who rush around and keep running into patrols and constantly making bugs/bots appear as if they have to speedrun the entire map. Here's what you really do. FOCUS BUG NESTS/ROBOT FACTORIES! That means less enemies overall, less patrols, less reinforcements. With the amount of ordinance you can go in with, this should never be an issue.
I don't that intended by the dev. The model of the Charger's leg didn't even broke of and you can shoot it now. It bug, when you shoot the back of it's leg and the game registered that as "The armor has been broken" somehow. And also, "I hate you little guy"....I fell that...Me too...
The second charger with the AMR, u shot the front of the front right leg and penetrated. Before that, that leg was untouched. I dont understand, i cant replicate this. I need more practice lol
As it's a bug it's not always consistent, from my experience if i hit a leg after the long charge animation and before it turns back around it will generally be able to shoot through the front

Amen, if you've kited a bile titan long enough you will notice theres no bugs and chargers left as they've killed them all for you

most of the clips are from level 7. only had the 2 level 3 clips because it has a mission that lets you have a guarenteed charter spawn

I knew this worked really well with the auto cannon and now the laser cannon I had no idea it worked with primaries.

With the clip at the end where you throw deployable stuff at chargers, is that consistent or do you have to try throwing it onto a specific part of their back? Sometimes it feels like my stratagems just bounce off their forehead when I try landing those
Its looks more like a bug, the aarmor gets "disaabled" when you shoot it from behind and suddenly every leg dosen't get armor
i find it funny how once they nerf the railgun, people only starts to experiment with other weapons to kill chargers

To be fair I always preferred the auto cannon to the rail gun. Deals with everything and was a most have on bot missions as you could deal with all the heavy infantry quickly and even the hulks could get fucked from the front

Wait how does that work? the sniper and machine gun do not penetrate the leg armor, yeah they can damage the leg from behind cos its not hitting armor, but does that then destroy the front leg armor? It looks like hes shooting it once or twice in the back of the leg, and then after that the front leg no longer counts as being armored??
It is a bug the devs talked about, when a charger misses hitting you they have reduced armor for how long we dont know but will be patched soon

The flamethrower melts chargers since the last update, no need to even aim for weak spots. About 1 full magazine is all it takes. Try it out!

I love how you cut out the moment a Hunter was beating you up while using the Flamethrower because that's what happens in higher difficulties. The time it takes to kill a single charger, the little bugs are already nipping your heels.
Don’t blame your lack of skill in managing priority targets on dev nerfing op weapon. Chargers can be easily dodge even if there’re 3 or 4, it’s just that you can’t make any mistakes. Clear the small bugs first cause that’s the main reason why you have less and less area to kite around

We all know how every one of those clips end, swarmed by hunters as i pressed my save clip button, but in normal gameplay i'll switch to my primary to take out hunters before engaging in these methods as they will definately lead to death. All these clips were specifically to demonstrate killing the chargers.

This is actually a bug with the charger. After it finishes it's charge, it seems to lose all its armor. This isn't supposed to happen with it.

@@mrssirens yea, I thought I could 2 shot chargers with the auto cannon but found out with my friend walking away with it that it didn’t work. They do get their armor back after they begin moving forwards again

Definitely will give the Anti-Material rifle another go. Closest to the Railgun in the arsenal.
Now same with horde of bugs and 3 chargers, but its definitely better than hitting "weak" spot
I find the laser cannon to work best mostly because it doesn’t use ammo and apparently it got buffed.

The Charger's might pales in comparison to a bug patrol that's 100% made of Hunters lol.
If you make it charge into a wall especially a metal one it also gets stunned and takes more damage
as a driller main, i assume the flamethrower damage work similar as the stream itself would do damage ontop of the trail it makes with the DoT of fire being its own individual source as well.
example: jet stream damage + fire damage from burning ground + burning effect = fire damage sandwich.
damage from all 3 together felt super bad before the buff now its reasonable imo.

Honestly i'd love anti-material rifle to have a normal reticle like other guns. Dont often like switching to a scope in a third person game. As it stands it's actually really good at what it does, killing brood commanders, hive guards and spewers in 1 shot. Pairs really well with someone on the team running stalwart/machine gun

Yeah railgun is really good due to it actually staggering the charger, this is just more for when you're running other weapons or out of railgun ammo

i included level 7 flame thrower clips also, but can definately say it's viable as ive run it solo on level 7 and taken it into a helldive (9)
this is most definitely a bug and should be fixed. Allows the autocannon to 2 tap them as well (3 if not lucky, but the armor is broke by then so primaries work too). If this IS intended, there's no reason for the railgun nerfs

Game had a good run but update on the chargers and bile titans, you cant destroy chargers legs with any of these weapons anymore, and the bile titans can take all bullets and missiles from a mech suit and still be alive, unfortunately the last 3 updates are killing the game making it so you HAVE to have teammates who also all use strategem airstrikes on big bugs but when they don't you will constantly die until you u have to watch and spectate someone whoss on the other side of the map looking at nothing, it was a fun platinum trophy to get and challenging, but making it harder than PVP games is just a little embarrassing, they over estimated the community so much and think everyone is gonna shoot the same bile titans and chargers... being forced onto medium hard and easy difficulty has ruined the whole game, will be playing spiderman 2 new game plus again I guess and games that work.
Don't delete my comment again either, the community needs to know these things so they aren't blatantly lied to about what weapons do so they don't just stand there and let everything bounce off armor

this method is pretty useless when theres 8 chargers chasing you and 4 biletitans, plus you got 2 stalker lairs around you and theres a spore spreader somewhere in the vicinity. yea sure it works in a vacuum fighting 1 charger, but its pretty worthless in 8 and 9. plus the devs have confirmed its a bug, so its gonna get patched out.

Works on all difficulties, just add a few dodges in between your shots and get as much damage in short bursts as possible
It is a bug that the charger loses armor value when it misses the target this will be patched soon

Now that's some skill to kill charger with antimaterial... and btw happy to see another jetpack enjoyer , there is not to much HD2 players who use them (like me) instead of using guard dog or that nerfed trashshield backpack
Jetpack and shield are "second chance" tools, just enough to avoid death. But for assault - guard dog gives just enough oomph to get rid of weaker enemies, so you can focus on bigger ones
All of the console noobs are in an uproar because their meta guns got nerfed and they have to actually play the game now. Chargers were never a problem, the problem is people who rush around and keep running into patrols and constantly making bugs/bots appear as if they have to speedrun the entire map.
Here's what you really do. FOCUS BUG NESTS/ROBOT FACTORIES! That means less enemies overall, less patrols, less reinforcements. With the amount of ordinance you can go in with, this should never be an issue.

The model of the Charger's leg didn't even broke of and you can shoot it now.
It bug, when you shoot the back of it's leg and the game registered that as "The armor has been broken" somehow.

The second charger with the AMR, u shot the front of the front right leg and penetrated. Before that, that leg was untouched. I dont understand, i cant replicate this. I need more practice lol
As it's a bug it's not always consistent, from my experience if i hit a leg after the long charge animation and before it turns back around it will generally be able to shoot through the front
if you can trick the charger to hit a rock, they stop for a long time

Diff 7, this doesnt work very well against the up armored charger, hence why anyone doing 9s misses the old pen of the rail
