A ROHO pressure cushion would be ideal for Nicolette to sit on. They are brilliant and prevent pressure sores even before they occur! It’s like sitting on a cloud and my family member has had a ROHO cushion for years. No pressure sores at all. Invest in one for Nicholette and she will be love it as it will mean no more pain from pressure sores!

I used to live in Annapolis and spent many wonderful days at Assateague Isl. Knowing that Nicholette wasn't feeling well but still HAD TO explore the trail and see the horses actually brought tears to my eyes! Nature is her medicine! This reminded me of a scripture, 2 Corinthians 4:16:

I've been watching you guys for a long time, and as an RN I can't help but to keep thinking Nicholette should be sleeping on an air mattress that does automatic turning...please consider how important this could be to healing..🙂

I'm very grateful for you both and how you love each other. This relationship is beautiful. I wish I could offer help considering the scorching heat. May i suggest a cheap AC unit from Walmart that can be mounted to window. If not worth it exploit the 30 day money back guarantee. My Ac unit from Walmart was $150 last year still keeps me cool this year.

I used to live in Annapolis. I REALLY liked sitting on the dock, downtown. ESPECIALLY at night. I've been camping at Assateague dozens of times. Camping on the bay side can be buggy.
You showed going over the Bay Bridge. My ex wife would freak out everytime we went over that bridge. 😂🤣😂🤣

When I was growing up my mother took me to watch the ponies swim across the water from Assateague to Chincoteague. It was so nice to see y'all relax and enjoy the beach. Safe travels and stay hydrated.
The wide boats are catamarans! You can charter them, it’s like borrowing it!

Is the packing fully soaking through twice a day, or is the wound dry? Barriers to healing could be changing the packing too often because you pull the freshly granulated tissue away from the wound. Been there done that with wounds and pressure sores so just offerring ideas for you to ask your wound specialists.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I have an autoimmune disease and have to be on medication and about to start vanlife. Scared to death how I’m going to get medication. How do you have health insurance or what was your process like doing medication/ doctors while traveling???

Well, not sure if y'all really need any advice because y'all know what you are doing, but have you looked into Northeast Indiana? There's 3 large health system in the region Parkview, Lutheran and Caylor Nickel. & you have lots of camping options in the tri- state area (In, Oh, Mi)
& There's I.U. Health wound care in Indianapolis (but be careful..that city is more dangerous than one might think for a city in a podunk state)
We love any info to help us get through this and all healed up honestly. Insurance has been an issue out of state since there isn't an immediate emergency or threat to life (that's what is required for definite approval out of state even if it's a serious issue.) We have had no luck in Pennsylvania but are hoping the doctor we see next is better and cares enough to look at the wound this time since we have to stick with PA due to insurance.
That's crazy especiallycwith a stage 4. It sickens me how insurances dictate what we need and dont. Stage 4 can be life threatening. Im sorry ypu are dealing with their BS.
Maybe there's some type of UMBRELLA to attach to her wheel chair .🤔..or a Big sunhat

Can you install an AC or is it to hard on the van just wondering
We have AC when driving but when the van is off it is too much power consumption without a couple more batteries to run an AC unless we are plugged in so we can't install a roof unit just yet.
