  • Raised by Scientology and forced into the Sea Org and labor intensive youth camps, Mike Brown didn’t have a choice but to be indoctrinated and used by the organization. After he managed to escape, leaving behind his mother and wife, years later he learned of the extreme elder ab*se that was happening. Determined to save his mother who was quickly being worked to death, he devised a plan to break her out and nurse her back to health before it was too late.

Well, actually there was more context than that. He said that the mental aspects of military life, at his young age, when he joined, was "less" than what he had endured at the Sea Org, but the physical aspects of military life were 'far more'. It was the physical aspect that he had to adjust to while being in the military, which was an aspect of the Sea Org, having had to do physical labor at an early age, that was the struggle, not the abusive mental aspect. Let's not take his words out of context.

@@rufusroher I have seen that. SeaOrg is insane and detrimental. I mean going to the Army would be the next best option. Could you imagine the army being a vacation. I think the reason why this man is so well adjusted because he ended up in military!

    • @rufusroher

@@katiempojer Not everyone you meet has a bad experience with the military. Where I work, I'm the only female out of 56 employees that work maintenance for a civil aviation company that contracts with the military. 85% of the employees are either reserve or former military. There are some who came to the USA from places like El Salvador etc. What the military gave them, in terms of GI Bill, education, insurance, pay, housing etc far exceeded anything they could have gotten where they lived. They get out after doing their service and are making 6 figure incomes and where their wives can stay at home with the kids, if they want. Majority of them will tell you that the trade off, tough physical demands, and rigorous training were well worth the end result. I think that Mike Brown feels like the men I work with, in that they feel more positive about their military experiences, than the other way, that it was just as abusive as the Sea Org.

Mike Brown shares about how he was a victim but he has also taken accountability in his convos with LaraFM. Claire Headley and Mike Rinder share how they were victims and how they help victims but never mention how they have victims that are still having nightmares about them. They were TOP EXECUTIVES and many abuses happened while they were at the very close to the very top not only against other adults but elderly and minor abuse including SA. Acknowledging victims rights includes looking at privilege it is possible to be abused by a system and be an abuser in that same system, meaning while you were a victim you also caused harm.

And when we were headed to Clearwater Beach we were taking a side by this group that wanted to take us in and help us said they were going to help the homeless. Having just come out of a cult my oldest stepsister realized what they were and gave them an earful. Great to see Mike on with you. His telling of Rosemaries story is very important because while the kids were abused, most of those problems have subsided with the closures of facilities.
It’s elder abuse that is rampant today as so many who joined in the 60’s & 70’s as teens or young 20 yr olds are now elderly.
Right now as you watch this video there are many “Rosemaries” stuck in that hell hole called “big blue”.
Where is Tom Cruise, Elizabeth Moss or John Travolta? They call those who question this activity bigots but we all know it’s not a religion.
Reversal of its tax exempt status is the ONLY way to stop the abuse. Contact your representatives.❤

Thanks to this story from Mike and Rosemary, I now know where my x husband is. I divorced after leaving without him 17 years ago. I left him there ‘for the greater good’.
Of course I have wondered about his wellbeing. He is in one of the nearby houses purchased for aging seniors creating a threat to being on church property. He is only 68, no longer smokes for 22 years, used to bike and run daily when I left. Used to love to sail and hike. So sad he is locked up. Our daughter just had a grandson Thursday - he doesn’t phone her and she can’t visit last she was in LA. Crazy - I have no clue how to help him. His family thinks he’s doing OK because that is what he tells them.
Same as I told my family for 40 years.
I’m happy to be out but it’s impossible to leave loved ones behind ❤
An other friend was also listed - in a room on the base with no windows.
The Aftermath Foundation can’t help till I figure out how to get them to want to leave. I’m well known to be an SP.

Mike is always easy to listen to. Abuse of any kind to anyone is not ok but to prey on children and the elderly is pure Evil ! If you see something DO something please

Thank you Mike for sharing your story and thank you Rosemary for allowing your story to be shared for the sake of humanity. Scientology is in no way shape or form a religion and it is appalling that it is treated as such by the government and receives religious tax exemption. The abuse of their most vulnerable members is awful and needs to be exposed for the world to see in order for it to stop. Thank you Shelise and Jonathan for providing a platform for these crucial stories to be shared ❤

I don’t know if it helps, but in Germany it isn’t recognized as a religion. There is no extra protection for the org, but that also means you can legally discriminate against members, like refuse them for jobs …
