It’s so weird seeing Joker talking I’m guessing this is what people thought when Yu started being a character
I imagine Yu had an easier transition, since the P4 anime came out only a couple years after the game and basically set the standard for his character going forward. P5 anime Joker left much less of an impression on viewers, so most people just pulled his personality from the Mementos Mission manga and the occasional bits of cockiness he had in-game.
I mean he does talk ingame and in the anime

Sure, there’s the P5 anime and maybe P5D but this time, there’s another silent protagonist that’ll be taking that place and now Joker gets to be an actual character this time.
It's what we wanted the whole time. In a manner of speaking, this is Joker's version of the Arena games.

You heard it folks. Ren Amamiya, Akira Kurusu- whatever you want to call him as, the one we know as Joker has recently break his chains of “silent protagonist in a P5 spinoff” that was holding him back. Even if it’s in a gacha game, I’m so proud of my boy!!
Well, he is also referred to as Ren Amamiya which means that it is his canon name alongside being fully voiced.

I presume Ryuji's VA was not present nor had the time to record cuz they are only using pre-recorded lines from the base game. Its weird why they decided to have everyone be voiced normally with dialog yet he gets simple gestures
Seeing these two interact is so much better than Three Hopes forcing a (non)Rivalry between Byleth and Shez.
I mean the rivalry is meant to be one sided. And never even would have occurred without satanist intervention.
I can tell Joker would say this off script saying "Aaaagh, now I'm doing this!" After her gets a unique talking animation like any other characters who is not the protagonist

Mamoru Miyano is very talented voice actor. I think he have no time for voiceover yet. Maybe focus on another anime or what

I hope they release this globally with Eng VAs, the only time I've ever heard Ren/Joker speak full sentences is in P5A, P5D, and debatably Pokemon Masters EX whenever Steven Stone talks since he has the same VA(Xander Mobus)

It’s quite glorious, seeing that Chinese is on the video game. It’s almost a stereotype that chinese video games are more often than not rip offs and full of money payment buttons. (I’m chinese)
