Kind of refreshing to have a physical brawl rather than using Personas as stand-ins. The fact Wonder uses his grappling hook as a supplementary weapon displays his resourcefulness, though using a different mask might be another way to camouflage himself.
This actually reminds me at how I need a Persona anime with actual fighting choreography. None of the anime series adaptations we’ve seen so far have THIS much physical and close shots fighting. I love how they actually utilizes their weapons and the environments around them, and this is without their Personas I get it’s harder to do in 2D than 3D, but I’d love to see it either way. The storyboarder does a fantastic job in this

So wonder was dreaming of fighting with joker and probably has the same dream everytime until he awoken to his persona. But I still don't know why he's dreaming about joker and why they both are probably connected to each other somehow
considering he has a connection to the Sea of Souls, a very old concept in Persona series since Persona 1, it is most likely his soul is linked to Joker's soul some how so he is getting visions of what will happen in the future due to their destiny crossing paths or events that had already happened but he cannot remember them.

Joker got his P5 story in his Universe while Wonder got his for his P5X universe but Joker's actions with jumping into P5X universe seems to be leading to that change in P5 story we see here in this Prologue. While P5 is happening, P5X is happening. The moments when Joker appears in P5X world are most likely like Side quest moments for Joker in his P5 world where he enters P5X world to do certain things that would lead down to a new Scenario different at a certain point in P5 side of the story. We are just looking at things from the P5X side of the story. However, this leaves a lot of questions about why will Joker choose to interfere in P5X Universe and what God is causing these events for P5 Universe to be crossing with P5X Universe.

The Wonder fighting Joker is clearly some doppelgänger. Not only was the dream happening from Joker’s perspective, but just before the player takes control, the scene suddenly glitches out and Wonder takes Joker’s place for a brief second.
Joker didn't really lose here, he definitely showed a higher skill level, he only "lost" when he pulled out his persona ability something that Wonder took advantage of with his unique stealing ability which caught Joker by surprise.
The stealing thing kinda resembles Soul Drain, so this might be how that move actually looks and works in-universe. As opposed to it just taking SP in gameplay, it actually drains something being used and takes it from the user or something like that
1:50 ive had this game for about 4 years now and its footage from the probably china exclusive mobile game that taught me you can go this way in Sae's palace, I always just went all the way forwards on that little circle thing
I mean Yu Narukami did pretty well against Joker in their encounter in Persona Q2. So I don't think Wonder who is also a Phantom Thief like Persona user, could not keep up with Sae Palace era Joker.
Assuming this game will end with Player-Wonder having to Makoto-Himself to fix the timeline that this alternate version of him seemingly broke (with the twist being that due to his bonds with his friends, his reality gets to coexist with Joker's)

Personal theory, since we have that Synopsis of time and space being involved(forgot the exact phrasing) here are my thoughts. Wonder has the abilities to alter time and replace the phantom thieves as the protagonists with his own group. In the CBT, we saw Leblanc not ran by Sojiro at all. We thought from translations this was a result of a post Yaldabaoth world of some kind. What if its what Wonders powers are doing? Morgana is litterally replaced by an Owl who has an exact or similar ability set, the first female party member having an similar situation as Ann. The Phantom Thieves, Akechi will be available as Gacha pulls. All of this seems to point some kind of reality warping is involved, either by Wonder or Yaldabaoth as some kind of contingency
I'm thinking this too, that this is a reality created to combat the reality Joker fought for. That Wonder's story is just like Joker's, that you're actually working for the bad guys for now.
It'll be very interesting that Down the line and as the story goes They give you these questions of Which one would you pick Joker or Wonder . And Which gets to exist and Which will be erased

You do know that was the basic plot of Persona 5 as the team was actually working for Yalaboath throughout the game it's only at the end do they find out the truth and switch sides
To be fair Wonder would have probably also have had to infiltrate the Palace and possibly fight off some shadows before ambushing Joker and looking at this did it alone.
I want this game to be good SO bad, especially since they're putting a lot of effort into the animation and choreography (I think this is easily one of the best 1v1s in the series honestly). Let's just hope the gacha mechanics aren't god-awful if it ever gets an international release.
@@akbarnanda4874 that doesn't really mean anything, since gacha game devs tend to invest loads of money into countless artworks, as those are what prompt whales into spending money on gacha. Especially since most pre-Genshin Impact gacha games ran chibi/sprite/low poly character models for each character so people were essentially just paying for voice acting and menu artworks. Of course that is constantly changing now that Hoyoverse "revolutionized" gacha genre and the character models seem quite detailed in Persona 5 X. However my point still stands. Artwork tends to sell these characters that devs are putting up so of course they are putting up as much of it as possible.
People who are fearing that Wonder just defeated Joker remember this all happened in Wonder's dream. The outcome can be different if they actually faced off
There are three things I'm noticing and it's Wonder's outfit, his mask and his powers. His mask is different and his outfit has a hood. The regular Wonder's phantom outfit doesn't have that. So I wonder if this is another AU where Wonder is a bad guy and the one we play as has to fight his evil counterpart. Hooded Wonder also seemingly doesn't have a persona with how his mask was destroyed but he does seemingly have the ability to take others Persona's.
oddly enough this reminds me of fire emblem warriors: three hopes! spin off game that shows our usual beloved protagonist only to reveal they have a new rival. and then it goes "btw that new rivals the main playable character. you gotta fight the original main character now." and then out of nowhere goes absurdly hard on fight scene choregraphy, despite the original game having next to none
I hope ATLUS lets whoever is developing Persona 5 The Phantom X continue to cook, with a fight scene that good, I'd love to see how this goes from here.
@arran4285 Royal is weird in that unlike Golden, most spinoffs kinda ignore her. My guess is because of the spoiler regarding Kasumi and their fear of revealing it to fans. Though you can easily counter by saying Akechi is in the spinoffs. It's definitely a strange choice by ATLUS. Could be related to marketing from SEGA or just an internal thing.

@arran4285 My personal problem is how the third act was handled. I was hoping for a black ops team between Kasumi, Akechi, and Joker that was kept secret from the PT. And you'd get into conflict regarding the events that unfolded. While the third act was fine, and Kasumi was well handled you could make the argument for anyone. Considering the entire main cast excluding Akechi agrees to the New Deal (even you if you want) initially, I don't see why her past is slighted by it.
I remember when ppl were shit talking the heck out of this game and saying the devs wouldn’t make anything cool. Could be motivated by the fact it’s Chinese or the fact the earlier development content reused P5 stuff so much. Turns out that even if you’re not down for some thing, handing creative freedom to new people can produce some cool stuff! There’s never been such an engaging fifth scene in the game series until this point.

This is very clearly a fan game that has Atlus's blessing and that's all good I respect that. However it being labled a persona 5 spin off is the part that bugged me the most. Because this is very clearly not focused on Joker or the other phatnom thieves so why the 5? However this clip has caused me to want to continue keeping track of it, having Wonder fight Joker in the casino of all places is not something you do lightly. They should know fans are going to expect significence out of this moment and answers to what it means.

The fight choreography was pretty dang good. Especially considering this is a mobile game. It was close quarters more focused on using their weapons and environment. Although is this supposed to be like an alternative timeline or something here?

For those wondering what kind of firearm Wonder was using, it was the Alien made by Laugo Arms. Costing $5000, the weapon's unique design allows it's user to have more control over the recoil allowing for more accurate shots and increase in firing rate. Uses 9mm rounds loaded using original Alien. magazines.
He didn't, though he was able to cancel joker summoning arsene for some reason. We do know wonder didn't actually steal joker's powers though, because in a cutscene after this one joker appears again and he is able to summon arsene
This looks like wonder dreamed he was joker in sae palace because of the glitches and the wonder that attacked was his persona and that why he couldn't use his persona and because he could have both of them put at the same time and thats why we see him use that ablity to stop his summoning.
The immediate thing I thought of when they showed that this is the same event except for Wonder's interference was whenever Joker fails to steal the treasure within the limit and the game transitions into a fake memory of Joker getting arrested. Making me think that this is gonna be Wonder and gang going in Joker's Palace in the form of memories somehow? Maybe something to do with Cognitive Echos

You do know that was the basic plot of Persona 5 as the team was actually working for Yalaboath throughout the game it's only at the end do they find out the truth and switch sides
This is joker after infiltrating the place, figthing Sae and in the middle of running from Sae's goons and still he was able to put up a good fight
To be fair Wonder would have probably also have had to infiltrate the Palace and possibly fight off some shadows before ambushing Joker and looking at this did it alone.
@@4wheal Tbf, Kasumi did mostly the same thing in Royal actually, only that she fought alongside Joker rather than against him.
I want this game to be good SO bad, especially since they're putting a lot of effort into the animation and choreography (I think this is easily one of the best 1v1s in the series honestly). Let's just hope the gacha mechanics aren't god-awful if it ever gets an international release.

@@akbarnanda4874 that doesn't really mean anything, since gacha game devs tend to invest loads of money into countless artworks, as those are what prompt whales into spending money on gacha. Especially since most pre-Genshin Impact gacha games ran chibi/sprite/low poly character models for each character so people were essentially just paying for voice acting and menu artworks. Of course that is constantly changing now that Hoyoverse "revolutionized" gacha genre and the character models seem quite detailed in Persona 5 X. However my point still stands. Artwork tends to sell these characters that devs are putting up so of course they are putting up as much of it as possible.

There are three things I'm noticing and it's Wonder's outfit, his mask and his powers. His mask is different and his outfit has a hood. The regular Wonder's phantom outfit doesn't have that. So I wonder if this is another AU where Wonder is a bad guy and the one we play as has to fight his evil counterpart. Hooded Wonder also seemingly doesn't have a persona with how his mask was destroyed but he does seemingly have the ability to take others Persona's.
oddly enough this reminds me of fire emblem warriors: three hopes! spin off game that shows our usual beloved protagonist only to reveal they have a new rival. and then it goes "btw that new rivals the main playable character. you gotta fight the original main character now." and then out of nowhere goes absurdly hard on fight scene choregraphy, despite the original game having next to none

@arran4285 Royal is weird in that unlike Golden, most spinoffs kinda ignore her. My guess is because of the spoiler regarding Kasumi and their fear of revealing it to fans. Though you can easily counter by saying Akechi is in the spinoffs. It's definitely a strange choice by ATLUS. Could be related to marketing from SEGA or just an internal thing.

@arran4285 My personal problem is how the third act was handled. I was hoping for a black ops team between Kasumi, Akechi, and Joker that was kept secret from the PT. And you'd get into conflict regarding the events that unfolded. While the third act was fine, and Kasumi was well handled you could make the argument for anyone. Considering the entire main cast excluding Akechi agrees to the New Deal (even you if you want) initially, I don't see why her past is slighted by it.

I remember when ppl were shit talking the heck out of this game and saying the devs wouldn’t make anything cool. Could be motivated by the fact it’s Chinese or the fact the earlier development content reused P5 stuff so much.
Turns out that even if you’re not down for some thing, handing creative freedom to new people can produce some cool stuff! There’s never been such an engaging fifth scene in the game series until this point.

This is very clearly a fan game that has Atlus's blessing and that's all good I respect that. However it being labled a persona 5 spin off is the part that bugged me the most. Because this is very clearly not focused on Joker or the other phatnom thieves so why the 5? However this clip has caused me to want to continue keeping track of it, having Wonder fight Joker in the casino of all places is not something you do lightly. They should know fans are going to expect significence out of this moment and answers to what it means.

As for experience this is Joker at Sae Palace whitch means he has only been a Persona user for a few months by that point so not that massive amount of experience

He didn't, though he was able to cancel joker summoning arsene for some reason. We do know wonder didn't actually steal joker's powers though, because in a cutscene after this one joker appears again and he is able to summon arsene
