Hey I'm 50 and am fixing my underbite with braces. It's positional, not skeletal, though, BUT my orthodontist when I was a teen said I'd definitely need jaw surgery as an adult if I didn't get it fixed. I put off looking into getting it fixed FOREVER because of that. Now I wish I'd just asked my dentist 15 years ago. Ask anyway, y'all! You never know!
I had Invisalign to correct my underbite starting at 27. Even after treatment, it will come right back. The Ortho won’t admit it though. They still getting paid and will sell you the dream
@@0sara27I’m 24 too and my dentist just told me they can fix mine with braces but ig it depends on how severe your underbite is. My problem is my teeth are kinda smashing together instead of the top layer sitting over the bottom.
As a 24 yr old teen sharing my personal experience kindly do not trust your dentist and go for a jaw surgery !!! Here i'm after 6 years of my braces journey and in the end they told me they can't fix it without surgery ...
@@nargiskashaf8428Exactly. I had Invisalign at 27. They sold me the same dream just got it to come right back. Without the elastic to hold the bite in place, it’s impossible to keep it there without surgery

I can’t fix it sadly it’s to severe so I have to wait until I’m 18 to get jaw surgery which I will probably say no to..
What about over bites! I always wondered what's in my future with my over bite that hurts sometimes. I'm 30 and I've felt this for about five years
