Hi, i have a severe underbite. My dentist doesn't put a braces with hook on mine. Its been 1 year and still they didnt put elastic band on my brace.

hi, i got braces when i was in grade 7 and they were not experienced! i wore braces for 5 years and my teeth still don’t look perfect. they extracted 2 teeth from the top during the procedure causing me to originally have an overbite then go to an underbite. fast forward… i got my braces off last year but my bite is still off and my smile midline is horrible! i went to an orthodontist and he originally recommend Invisalign but i thought it wouldn’t fix my problems so i wanted to wear braces again. i’m still thinking which one i should do/which one would be more efficient?

How do the jaws stay in the correct place when the elastics are off?

I suggest you look for videos on underbite using Carriere Active elastics. It is something to do with your jaw bones and its position/ correct insertion into the skull (which was not correct when someone had an underbite problem). After elastics, there are months of braces and 2 years of contention to ensure that your jaws are in the healthy/normal position

How long does it take underbites to correct with gorilla rubber bands. RIght now i am edge to edge with a very slight underbite and the elastics are in the Class 3 configuration? Ive seen no change in 4 weeks now

Rubber bands worked like a charm. It didn’t take long to correct itself. Thanks for the help and wisdom.
The dentist increased the intensity of the bands. And things moved quickly
@gary1703 so braces seem to be working for you? Just curious if you are an adult who is 28yrs or older? Asking because im 28 and Dr is saying I need surgery and braces won't work. I have a slight underbite

No it will fix your under or over bite but your facial structure can’t change for that u will need jaw surgery

@@sorryantisocial2238 it's like giving spaces in between teeth using a small "mini chain-saw" like electric machine.
Each of my tooth are big the reason of my overcrowding, and the Dentist have to reduce them by grinding the edges 😆😆

He says they tried not to extract any teeth... The first thing I did was extracting 6 teeth... How small my jaws could be that needs 6 teeth extraction 😭😭😭😭
How should we put braces in case (underbyte) that bottom 2 teeths are in front of upper 2 teeths when wanna byte and that 2 teeths in upper jaw surface, will touch back of the 2 bottom jaw teeths
So braces that are on the 2 upper front teeths would brake after a byte

My underbyte is so less and no one can figure that I have underbyte and the only problem is that there's no way to put braces on those 2 teeths

What did you mean by saying 'would break'? Did it happen to you or is that your guess? My sister was in the same situation like you (very light underbite), I have even a more serious problem than her, and you will see that once the brace is put on, you will not be able to eat correctly with your front teeths, and it is impossible to break the brace when you bite. Go have an appointment with a local orthodentist, rather than having worries like that

Hi May I ask how old is the patient? My is is turning 14 this july and he has underbite.
I sure you can get a braces any time you ready it never let I am 49 now still get it been 8 months now and I can see it changing a lot
