What air compressor do you recommend for airbrushing latex masks in an apartment? I see a lot of artists say they spray between 40-70psi. I'm just getting into the hobby and not sure which avenue to travel. I have an Iwata Eclipse, just need a compressor.
Hi Allen Before you put the alcohol/black wash on the mask, do you have to seal the paint job before the rub-off? That Creature sculpt, and paint job you did is absolutely fantastic! 🤘🏻🎃🤘🏻

What is the psi of the compressor? I have trouble getting the suction to work with mine hence why i always gravity feed brush..I'd like to learn how to make the suction work better though
I can never get latex paint through my airbrush do u possibly kno why? Do I maybe need a better compressor, cuz I thought I needed a quart sprayer to spray latex paint and thats why my reg airbrush wasnt workin
@@StiltbeastStudios thanks yea Im mixing the 1/3 ratio of mask latex, paint, and water I figured it was my compressor I gotta get a stronger one, thank u I always learn alot from ur vids
Liquitex Professional High Gloss Varnish !!!??? oh come on you got to have a hardwares store equivalent ... no? Seriously as I live an hour from many professional SFX supply stores I was never forced to do the hardware store equivalent experiments to the degree you seem to have done. I have a few "hardware store "tricks" such as mixing school glue with plasticiser to make my own "phlex glue" and I mastered Relay logic instead of using microcontrollers like my competitors. But when I saw you use pledge furniture wax spray instead of Universal Release spray wax that cost me $25 a can from Burman FX supplies I realized you were the master of this. Makes me wonder which of us is more lucky prop maker, me to have been born in Hollywood or you in rural Texas.
I am learning so much from your videos!! I have a latex mask of Chthuhu that i have painted with acrylics according to your instructions! Now i want to apply a wash but i am wondering if that is what i should do. My base color is green and the wash would bring out the highlights but should i use a wash or a rub out technique? i dont want to ruin the latex!!
a wash would be real thin and not get rubbed off, you can do it several times to strengthen the effect. A rub out would need to be done with alcohol based ink, otherwise it would rub off your water based paintjob. good luck!
Sounds like a cat cartoonishly reacting to a large shelf coming down on them at 1:44 LOL
screw gun in the other room lol.
I absolutely love your air brushing makes me just want to get one

No need as long as your mask paint is dry!
Thank you as well!
Question: Did you run the liquitex varnish through your airbrush without any dilution or thinning? If so how do you clean it out of the brush after?
I just run water through it after and yes, full strength- I run 60PSI through my brush normally
also any particular type of ink to do the washes with? FW?
I use pinata inks the link is in the video description actually
but fw works
Do you like the Liquitex varnishes better than plasti dip spray? I’ve seen you use both.
Hey brother man
Do you mix your on latex paints or buy the premise? If you make them what the recipe?

Now I'm ready to make some Michael Myers masks 🎃🔪

Bump In The Night Studios shake your paint good or use thinner
Also are you mixing your own latex mask paint or are you using a purchased type? also you need at least 50 PSI for latex paint, I run mine at 80.
