    Ah, this will help greatly. But i think i will add my face cast to the foam head ( after cutting its face off) and plaster the rest and be able to have a very nice full size bust now. Thanks for the inspiration.

    I'm having a problem with my plaster wanting to flake off while sanding and yes there were plenty of holes and lines for plaster to hold on to. I keep reapplying, some mixture is thicker, some thinner. Since I don't plan on making many latex masks or even sculpting with clay on it, would it be okay to cover it in an acrylic caulk? I plan on making more EVA foam masks and head pieces with it.

  • @josephflesche9726

    I have read through the comments and it appears that you are using Ultracal 30 plaster. I have some left over Plaster of Paris that I can use on this for me. But I have to ask, what is the concern with Plaster of Paris?

    • @StiltbeastStudios
      @StiltbeastStudios  Год назад

      its just not strong enough for mold making- it should be fine for this application.

      a wrinkle on a sculpt, becomes a sharp ridge of plaster, that breaks off really easy with POP. so the detail it can hold is limited by the tensile strength of the plaster
