My obsession began with Radiohead but I love Thom Yorke’s solo stuff! The Eraser is one of my favorite albums ever and Anima is really special to me. As I get older I find myself more drawn to his solo work than I am to Radiohead.
I’ve always had a strong obsession with Radiohead. But I’ve also had that sort of change as I grow older. His mind is just such an excellent area of exploration. Although Jonny Greenwood does interest me a little bit more :)
I just want to say: you are one if the most articulate, well spoken video essayists I have come across. You come across so well rounded yet still down to earth which is kinda hard to pull off. I appreciate just how artistic your mind is and always enjoy watching and listening to your content
I have just finished my path to subscribing to this channel: first, I got done listening to some wack ass black midi, and the “darkest album ever” video, and I got absolute chills from this. Then, I saw something about “How to Disappear Completely” and I thought it might be about the song, but it was about another insomniac album. So then I fell on this video because it was about Anima, something Radiohead. 15 seconds in I see this strapping chap wearing a Seahawks beanie and I realized “oh my gor that’s so me” and now I’m subscribed
yo another banger video once again man. its been a while since you did album cover tutorials and im kinda missing the vibes of those vids. if you dont mind, i hope you can go for death dynamic shroud's album covers. Specifically, derelict or the nuwrld type of an album cover. its kinda difficult but i just wanna see what kind of a cover you can come up with. although, any album cover tutorial will do as long as you have fun with it. anyways, have a good one
Certain aspects of the Eraser I love. Very minimalist and soft spoken. I love the title track, Atoms for Peace, and Skip Divided which I think is a bit of a bad track for some. I personally love the groove he comes up with and how he sings it incredibly low on the studio version, but then sings it an octave higher on live versions. I love anything and everything Thom Yorke so I guess I’m a lil biased
Anima blew my mind when it first dropped. I’d easily put it on par with a lot of Radiohead material. I also bought the deluxe book LP and it was 100000% worth it
I love The Eraser, it's still Radiohead-like but different enough to be interesting even if the songs never really go anywhere. (Thom really loves disappointing the listener, but even when he does that, it sounds better than any other musician)
Jake, you better do The Caretaker's other music. Leyland Kirby's Sadly the Future is No Longer What it Was is like EATOT but Depression. You have to do a video on it, its so underrated.
amnesiac is criminally underrated
this channel is so underrated.
I get that a lot
Tomorrow's modern boxes is a masterpiece. And an essential part of Yorke's œuvre, specially if you want to see the progression of his solo career.

Oh yeah Jonny is also so good!! The score for Phantom Thread is *mwah* top notch
