I love David Cassidy, four months ago I decided to lose weight and every morning I began to walk to his music. Since then I have lost 43 pounds in four months. Thank you David for being with me during this time and a big part of my accomplishment! Love and miss you ❤️
No one worked harder on their career than David Cassidy. He truly was phenomenal and yet such a kind soul. When I hear JukeBox Hero I think of David. He listened to the Beatles and went out and bought the guitar which started an amazing singing career and acting career and songwriting and even more importantly he was a kind human being with a John Lennon philosophy of life. He wanted peace and kindness. He was an extraordinarily generous humanitarian. He truly made the world better. Thank you David Bruce Cassidy. From Broadway to Vegas and all around the world David you truly are a jukebox hero.
This is a great conversational interview. I'm so happy I found this. I cannot express how deeply affected I am by the death of David Cassidy; I actually cannot even believe I am writing those words. He is my first "real" idol. I liked Davey Jones, RIP ... but nothing could compare how I felt the first time I laid eyes on David. He was my first concert in 1972 and for three years after that. Then as always, life gets in the way and we are distracted with careers, family, new music, boyfriends and those days became a beautiful memory tucked away in my mind. Fast forward to oh, let's say, 2012, I started to see a resurgence (again after his 90's, early 2000's comeback) and this time, he was different. He had remained the same for so many years, I was somewhat shocked into the reality of just how much time had passed . . . his hair thinning, lines appearing (although he always kept his youthful physique). Then there were stories on line, footage of an arrest, talk of DUI's . . .(3) unusual for someone who was never associated with excessive drug/drink, appearance on Dr. Phil, stint in Rehab, bankruptcy . . . and you know the rest. I don't know why he couldn't be "saved" . . . I would have saved him from himself . . . he is/was a beautiful, loving, caring, sensitive man . . . life came at him too fast and then abandoned him . . . why did they give up o him . . . why did he give up on himself. Much of his conduct toward the end of his life mimicked his Dad's . . . who was an alcoholic and bipolar I believe. Anyway, just want to express how totally heartsick I am that this beautiful man is no longer . . . .and to further make things worse, as if they could be, he was cremated . . . I am not against cremation but it is such a sense of nothingness. . . that a once vital human being is reduced to ash. To me, that is THE most difficult part of life to grasp . . .it really could drive a person mad.
Unfortunately I don't think we will ever know what really happened behind closed doors and it is none of our business really. I am sure there are a lot of people who would have liked to save him and I am one. As for him being an alcoholic, I know first hand they are not easy to live with but they do not deserve to be put down and ignored, it is a disease which a lot of non-alcoholics seem to forget. I agree that his life may have come at him too fast but also think that a lot of people associated with his career used him and may have expected too much for their own self gain. His talent was certainly phenomenal and he was a beautiful person inside and out, going by what I have seen in interviews etc. He was stunningly gorgeous looking and as I read the other day from another fan "sex on legs" lol. I will always be grateful to him as I was terribly abused as a child and watching him and listening to his music helped me keep some sort of sanity and hope for my future. Goodbye to a wonderful and unique person and I hope I can catch up with him in Heaven when it is my time...
I love your comments and the analysis we are all doing to try to make sense of David's life. What an amazing human being - I think soooo under-rate probably because of the teen/pre teen idol thing. I too am still in shock/mourning...angry even that I never saved up and went to Vegas to see him. Now he's gone forever. I can not believe it is approaching David's first birthday where he will not be here. He touched so many of us and he is right when he says (watch Unscripted) that when you have your first crush and connection - it never goes away - particularly for us as a generation would cherished everything we got to see him on whether it was TV or magazines...because there was no videos, no youtube access and we could not consume him enough. These videos and his music will live on forever - his openness, his story telling (ready his autobiography...it is brilliant! it is like he's there with you), his twinkling dreamy lash-eyes and cheeky smile, laugh his sexiness will live on. So today...there is a generation lost in tears and sadness as we grapple with our own mid-life years and hold on to the innocence and sweet memories of the 1970s and the brilliance of David Cassidy...as he was then and through the decades. He is so missed and it is by far ...the hardest celebrity death I have faced - OMG why David? Love and Cherish him forever.
David was a hard working fellow with a great personality....he practically worked hard all of his life...He definitely brought happiness to a lot of his fans...RIP David.
Handsome. Blessed with good looks. I just read he was 62 at the time of this interview. If that's true... Wow. He looks great! Mega talent too. Too bad we lost this great guy so soon. He had great taste in music.
What a thoughtful, well spoken man recounting his entire performance history, noting this interview is only 5 years before he sadly lost his battle with living, DC is greatly missed, all that he offered to us, over 50 years of fab entertainment, worldwide♡
This interview was done in 2012, so David was sixty-two at the time this was filmed. It's very obvious that his mind/memory was sharp as a scalpel and clear as a bell at that time. Furthermore, he looks youthful for a man of sixty-two. Watching this interview, it's very hard for me to believe that only two years after this was filmed he began showing signs of dementia! I strongly suspect that his mother's death shook David's world much harder than anyone would have guessed, and one of the terrible side effects of her death was that-possibly for the first time in his life-David began drinking heavily. Some people's bodies are more fragile than that of other's, and when that's the case they simply cannot hold up for very long until the damage manifests itself. My poor, darling David. :'(
Shirley you are right and I have to agree ...a lovely man who suffered incredibly the loss of his beloved Mother along with other difficult things in his life. Still a warm loveable loving human being God Bless his soul and now he rests in peaceful slumber still very much forever loved.
TRUDY KRAFT agree !!! That's what destroyed him !! Not her , what she took !! She left him destitute - His cherished home , even his 05 Lexus - and a few pieces of property in grand Bahamas !! Literally left him with nothing -- he spiraled quickly
Wouldn't it be his son, since he is the next direct next of kin? I believe David stated on Dr Phil told his doctor that he did not wanted to be resuscitated.
he is still my favorite from as a young teenage girl . had his posters all over my walls . i will always be a huge fan . also he is still very good looking for being in his early 60's !!!! i wish im the best of luck , god bless him !!!
I really didn't remember that David made a fool out of himself on his show. He was funny and cute and played a older teen. He has stated on a few interviews that he was an airhead on the show. I didn't see it that way at all. He was funny and light-hearted. He was kind and funny on the show. He was the best looking guy ever and was so very talented. Happy to have lived through his career. He was really a one-of-a-kind.
It is just absolutely amazing how much David looks like his dad Jack Cassidy A lot of photo's I've seen of David really has me thinking of Jack. Isn't nature just incredible?
WAAAAYYY SOOO ABSOLUTELY. HIS DAD ALLLLWAAAAYYYS LOOKS CREEPY, SUCH A SLEEZE CONNING WOMEN LOOKING GUY. EVERY PROGRAM WE SAW HIS FATHER IN ON EPISODES OF WE SAW NO ACTING ABILITY, NONE, JUST NOTHING. DAVID IS A VERY EXEPTIONAL VERY NATURALLY TALENTED ACTOR FROM FIRST TIME I SAW HIM ON A EPISODE OF MARCUS WELBY M.D.. I COULD TELL HE WAS PLAYIMG A WASAYYY YOUNGER CHARACTER THAN HIS AVE OF BEING SO MUCH OLDER THAN PEOPLE THAT COULD NOT SEE THAT. I TOLD MY FAMILY YOU JUST WAIT, WON'T BE LONG THAT HE WILL GET HIS OWN SHOW. WOW WHO KNEW IT WOULD DESTROY HIS LIFE OF WHAT HIS FATHER LEFT DAVID TORN TO SHREDS SINCE A VERRRRYYYY YOUNG LITTLE VERY SWEET LOVING CHILD. AND THE FANS THAT CALLS THEMSELVES FANS THAT PHYSICALLY HURT HIM AND ALL THE CRAZINESS THOSE KIND OF SO CALLED FANS DID TO HIM. YEAH, THAT'S A FSN, THE ONES IN THERE MINDS I'M LOVE YOU SO MUCH I WANT TO HURT YOU THE MOST I CAN. THAT IS NOT A FAN. I AM ONE OF HIS HUGEST, BIGGEST FAN AND I WOULD NEVER LAY A HAND ON HIM TO HURT HIM--AND GRABBIN A HANDFULL OF HIS HAIR AND JUST TEAR IT OFF HIS HEAD W O W EVERY PERSON KNOWS HOW MUCH IT HURTS WHEN ONE OF OUR HAIR GETS YANKED OUT. AND MADE IT THAT THEY, HIS ''FANS'' ISOLATED DAVID. WONDER OF WATCHING AND HEARING HIM, OF HIM THESE YEARS HAD ANY AFFECT ON THEM NOW OF ANY HUGE REMORSE OF THEIR PART OF DESTROYING HIM.

Interesting the perspective...I never saw the character of Keith Partridge as a "fool" or "shallow"....he seemed like a cool teenager/young adult with a lighthearted sense of humor who did not want to be a bully or mean spirited person. I agree with all of you-I always wonder why he tries to prove in all of his interviews that he was “nothing like Keith” and “that was not acting” and that “Keith was an airhead”. I just think his father put him down so much and his friends didn’t think the role was “cool” so he convinced himself that it wasn’t a difficult acting job and that Keith was nothing like him. Someone else would have gotten a really big head and loved all of the fame. He was a wonderful actor, comic and singer and I truly believe David was much more like Keith than he liked to admit. Initially, his music preferences were different, he felt more accepted playing serious roles, as opposed to comedic, and David was much more brilliant than Keith. We all knew all of that and I don’t think anyone thought he was the character in real life. Those qualities belonged to YOU and we loved YOU.....we knew you were not Keith in real life!!” Not too many people walk away from such popularity and fame, as David did. His father did that to him. Gosh he looks ok here but must have gone downhill quite quickly as didnt look so great in 2016 which was only 4 years after this ..So sad as such a talent and fame ruined him .made him isolated and lonely ...catch ya in next life ,happy loved n at peace .xo

I too never saw him as a flake. He was a fun loving guy on the Partridge Family. A pleasure to watch.
LOL, he's jealous of his own sexlife from the past, love his sense of humour!
This is like David was missed him all the time 😊

Compare this to interviews from about 4 years earlier and the difference is massive. He aged so quickly and his voice is terrible. He said in an interview that he was unhappy in his marriage from 2008 onwards and started drinking from then. Manipulating Sue was living apart from him years before they divorced. She was probably his biggest problem.
This looks like this was in his house ar rhe time
