Thank you for this video! I just found a Singer Featherweight that was made. In March 1950. It’s in beautiful condition and was hardly used so is in perfect condition. I bought it 4 days ago and fortunately found an original Singer table for my Featherweight yesterday. It belonged to a friend who didn’t want it. Today I followed your video and may the mini Dresden plate spool pin plate. And love it! I have watched all of your Featherweight videos and enjoy them all!
I made this and put a lightweight fusible interfacing on the back. It doesn't make it stiff or add any bulk but keeps all those raw edges neat and covered.
I made one of these from a kit from Featherweight Shoppe. My only modification was for the center. I used a little bit of FrayCheck in the center, then made my hole. No buttonhole stitch. It's held up fine.
I’ve crocheted 2 little spool plates, but now I definitely want to make the little Dresden plate! Thank you for the tutorial! Hope you and your Family have a wonderful New Year filled with great memories and Blessings beyond measure!🎉🎉
That’s adorable! It would just brighten up my sewing machine. I don’t have a featherweight but I do have an almost 50 yr old Kenmore. But it would be great for my Altair as well!
Thanks for the tutorial. I am thinking this would be good to do in larger sizes with the felt backing for table topper and/or coasters. The idea of a quilt is also wonderful.
Great video. I love the idea of putting a backing to the dresden plate! I have this pattern and extra wool, so I think I'll made one with a wool backing. Thank you for the idea!! I also purchased some crochet doilies from the Featherweight Shop to use on my spool pin. Looking forward to your new videos next year! Happy New Year, Laura!!!
My mom had a Singer 310 I believe it was and it used cams so at first I thought you were going to show one of those but then I did remember those felt pads she had for the spools. Hers were gray I think. I kick myself for not taking that machine instead of offering it to my sister in law. I had a couple of Pfaff machines and thought I would not need it. So stupid of me! 🙁
After you join up and log in look for "Free Patterns & Featherweight Ephemera!". That pattern, with a variety of other things, is listed and you just download whatever you want to from what is on offer. From time to time they find something else and add it so over time what is on offer has kept growing. The pattern for the spool pin dresden is near the bottom of the selection now.
When you get the newsletter, scroll to the bottom and look for the 'subscriber bonus' section. Click on it and it will take you to all the free downloads.
As I recall they don't just send it to you automatically - you log in after you've signed up (or even as you sign up) and look for "Free Patterns & Featherweight Ephemera! " There you'll find it, along with lots of other interesting "Singer" (and especially Featherweight) things. The little booklets on things like ric-rac are some of my favourites. :-)
I love my featherweights, my 301, and the featherweight shop. I love this pattern! I plan to make some after watching your video. Thank you once again for the helpful video. Happy New Year 🎉

I lovemaking dresden plate quilts. One of my favorite
Omg, that is some delicate tiny sewing and piecing. You are a better woman than me, although hand sewing is very relaxing. Hugs, Chel 🌸

Omg! My mum had that machine! ❤ I’d give my eye teeth to have one just like it.
My grandma had that machine. When she passed my aunt took it. I guess my cousin has it now. At least I hope she does & it wasn’t tossed aside!

Very cute …!! May I ask what kind of scissors did you use at the end, after you hand stitched the plate to the felt ? Thank you 😊

How would one get the pattern after signing up for the newsletter?
Very pretty, however, I was unable to sign up for the free pattern. I gave my email address and ph # for promo texts; no sign of the free pattern

Cute! Just a note about the horizontal spool pin z it goes onto the pin with the tapered end down...hope that helps!😊
I signed up put they didn't list the Mini Dresden Spool Pin. They send other downloads .

Wow that machine really cost whopping when I look up that what I want but surprisingly me for that cost ?? No way can’t afford 😢 but Happy sewing
The mini dresden isn’t listed as one of the free patterns, it is however listed as a purchase. Disappointing

Did that but the mini pattern wasn’t listed as a free pattern that I could find

I did get the email but the link wouldn’t work. It’s been awhile since then and it finally worked and I found the pattern. Thanks for helping!
