Great job, Stephen. I have been implementing all your ideas. My store is 1 month old, and I am at a 5.9% conversation rate as of today. Thank you for helping me start my business.
Hey. I’ve also been at it for a month and a half. I have no sales just yet due to visibility issues. Do you use a certain way to get your products seen (such as SEO, alt text, etc) that you already have sales with such a high conversion rate?
I use Everbee for keywords and title research. The key is to make your title and Tag words relevant to your listing. Look at who you are in competition with and make your listings look better

Thanks! That is just something I do so the main image is the correct shape for the thumbnail. I crop that off before uploading to Etsy. I hope that makes sense.
@@HelloCustom So is the reason you do that because the Etsy thumbnail is a different dimension than what you see when you're on a product page looking at the images?

Hey, GREAT VIDEO!!!! You never said what to do with that grey square and for what purpose is it made? I have only 6 slides out of 10. what else to put....
Stephen great great great content, do you factor in competition when finding a product to sell on Etsy. I noticed that you haven't mention competition, only sales velocity and sales potential? Thanks for the awesome videos.
Hi Stephen, Greetings from Hong Kong, can’t wait, I watch every single one of your videos, including your live stream with Jesse of course, my store is currently open for a month and a half and I haven’t had any sales yet, I’m looking forward to every episode of yours, I Curious to know how I can improve my store and sell my first order successfully. My store will have a lot of Seo masters to give me advice, of course, a lot of money, I can not afford to pay, and I think you will introduce how to improve Seo. I would like to ask how is a perfect Seo, or we simply put Seo thinking too complicated?
I am wondering, (as a new shop owner with not much money) wouldn’t it be a bad idea for me to offer to refund everyone who doesn’t absolutely love it? What about people scamming for free products? Guy’s if you are wondering the same thing, like my comment, so we can get answered. 😁 Thanks for the awesome video Stephen! 🙏
Please don’t worry about this! People very rarely request refunds for cheap items even when they don’t like the product. In order to build customer rapport especially as a new business who may have limited listings and hardly any social proof; you really have got to earn any new customers trust. The statement that you do not provide refunds is something that will lead me to click away immediately; it shows you don’t believe in your own product, and it also means that if I regret my purchase there’s nothing I can do about it. If anyone actually asks for a refund you can request the product be sent back; this is enough of a deterrent for most.
You are so awesome to share all of these insightful videos Stephen - I thank you so much and I'm excited to optimize my shop. I do have a question regarding the display price. Do you discount all of the variations when you initially upload a new listing or just one variation (ex. only xs pink for a shirt)? Thank you!
Do you do design variations on the main image/ thumbnail for most of your products? Apparel for instance. Would you create variations of the name ex: Nana, Mimi, etc and have that all on your thumbnail? Seems like it could be cluttered? Thank you for all the amazing valuable info!! This is the first time I’ve felt capable of making my POD dreams a reality
Great question! Apparel is probably the only product type that I would not do design variations as there are already so many options with size and color. If you have 10 colors and 6 sizes, that is 60 variations. If you add 4 design variations, that would be 240 variations. 😅
Thank you so much! I have a question. If this was for a t-shirt design, would you include a sweatshirt variation in the same listing, or create a new listing for sweatshirts?
Help!! … I have not found the skinny tumblers on Printify … Where are you guys ordering them from?? I am working on items now to offer in my shop. I have not ever had an Etsy shop before & am thankful for any suggestions and ideas ☺️ Starla
Thank you so much for this video! Is there a way to show an example of the image on the tumbler ? I want to place a sample image like that in my listing so the customer can see an example ( image clarity)
Very helpful, thank you. I've been watching and implementing each step of your challenge. My only question is when will you release the next video on design variations? I can't wait to see it and follow it :)
Hi Stephen, Thanks for a new fresh outlook on Etsy. I have not seen any listings like yours. I have to try them. To my question, on your first image I noticed you stated same day shipping. Are you doing you own fulfillment? If not, who are you using? Printify lists only one partner and the tumbler image does not seem to print edge to edge; I am not very happy about this. So, I have turned to printful and I just ordered a sample from because of this issue; hopefully theirs will be edge to edge.
Really interesting video ! I have a question concerning Etsy last update. On the search page, listing pictures are rectangle, but in your shop, listing images changed to a square. Will you still make a rectangle version optimized for the search page, or switch for a square to prevent the images to be cropped in your shop ?
@LillyoftheValleyAZ yes on the shop it's square designed, they already change it, but in their post on the community forum they didn't say they will change the search page. So the search page is still rectangle 😅 etsy asked us to design image who can work in both cases... that's why I'm asking.🤷♀️
how can you offer this "Love it gaurantee" with custom printed items? you are stuck with the cost of the original product and then in a losing proposition possibly?????
Hi Stephen! Thank you for taking your time to help others learn how to be successful on Etsy. Your videos are amazing and your story is so inspiring. I just started listing ornaments and got my first 2 orders that I listed on Hello Custom but the first order did not automatically add the customization so I added it manually. I just got my 2nd sale today and it also did not add the customization on its own so I tried adding it manually again but the page just keeps loading and never stops. I followed the instructions as far as creating the listing on Printify saving as a draft uploading the design on hello custom and then going back to Printify to publish the listing. Not sure why the customization is not updating on its own. I emailed support but not getting a reply. Any suggestions? I need to submit the order to Printify but again the approval queue won’t stop spinning.
Awesome video, thank you! I really want to do this more my shop. If we have an existing shop that does okay, but not where we want it to be, would you say we should spend time optimizing all our listings in this manner to get ready for Q4, or would it be more of a priority to focus on designing?
Another great video! I have watched it a few times and I am a little unclear about the "How To Order/Variation" slide. If you don't have variations, then what can you put in for how to order?
Hi, I am a little confused about How to order/ variation slide for a different reason, In this slide should we show all the variations or step by step guide on how to order the product? Can you please answer it for me, if you understood it?

Hi Stephen, Great video! When will you be making a video on the full features of hellocustom? Is hellocustom capable of applying 2 names and a date in one listing, such as for an anniversary ornament with both of the couples names?
Great question! We are 1 week out from releasing the new template UI, so am waiting for that to roll out a bunch of tutorial videos. If the 2 names are in the same text element, HelloCustom can do that. HelloCustom will be perfect for engagement, wedding, and anniversary ornaments where it says, "Stephen & Destiny" for the 'Name' and "2023" for the 'Date.'
Thank you so much for this! I would have never thought to do anything like this. I decided for the social cause to do $2 per purchase donations to Susan G Komen for Breast Cancer since we are almost to October. I am a little confused on this video though. I don't have tumblers so I did mugs. Am I suppose to hide all my mugs I created and let this be the one post? If yes, is the 4 variation images of 4 different mugs? I'm sorry I'm not trying to confuse you LOL Can I just skip that one and add the rest to my other listings? Thanks again for this video it helped me learn about other stuff like the donations and the only the best.
Quick important question: Do you online upload personalized or also non-personalized products? I find it very hard to find good personalized products for halloween for instance.
Great question! I try to only do personalized, if possible. Personalized Halloween apparel would be hard to do, but a personalized Halloween pattern mug, tumbler, phone case, etc would be very easy. I hope that helps.
So I take my own photos of my glass cups and tumblers I don’t use mock ups for those - how should my photo look ? A mock up is a nice clean generic photo - but I want my listings to be my own photo
Probably a dumb question... but are you colorblind? Ive come to find one of the hardest things doing designs etc is being very unsure if I'm gettin the colors I actually want. I noticed you typed in the color you were lookin for then picked from the list according to what you thought was best. that was really helpful to me being colorblind. If indeed you are, do you have any other tips?
Is it possible to use hello custom to customize digital products for customers to purchase instead of using POD making it Digital on Demand for them to customize and print at home?
I have a question I tried to list my Etsy listing of an actual product. This is my fist listing. It says the pic needs to be in jpeg or png format. I took the pic with my iPhone and it is saved in my Mac and it says Heic. I didn't realize I needed to change the size also , so I changed the pixels on canva to 2667 x 2000 and then saved as a png and now Etsy says the file is too big. What am I doing wrong. I am new I am trying to just a listing up. I thought I could take pics on the iPhone and move to canva and just change the pixels size. No one has ever mentioned the iPhone taking in Heic and having to change it to Jpeg.
Can you clarify what's the point of having the gray rectangle for image 1? We don't remove it at the end? Wouldn't it look weird to see the rectangle in final listing images?
I do that so I only design the top 1600 pixels so the first image is the correct size for the thumbnail. I crop if off before uploading it to Etsy. You can also make another Canva image that is 2000X1600 and design the thumbnail image there, but I like to see all the images in the same file.
@HelloCustom That’s new to me. I thought everything has the same size. I didn’t know that the thumbnail and other images have diff dimensions. Thanks for clarifying!
@@dknown You can make the first image square. I think Etsy is making some changes to prefer square, but only 1600 pixels of the 2000 will be displayed for the thumbnail, so you will have to design with that in mind.
Hi, I am a little confused about How to order/ variation slide, In this slide should we show all the variations or we should show a step by step guide on how to order the product? If anyone understood it please answer it for me.
Good question, to which the answer should be no. Fake reviews are dishonest and unethical. Friends and family who have never seen this product in their lives don't count either.
While still helpful, he is promoting the product "hello custom" for personalized items, and a Tumbler printing company watch more of his videos for details.
Great video! Should you say "ships next day" though as sometimes the print providers take up to 7 days? What if the print provider takes 3 days and you promised next day? Of course it would increase CVR but it's difficult to guarantee that if not handling the items yourself? Because for the "million dollar challenge" are you going to be using Printify or Printful like 99% of us are, or are you using your own in-house team and your own shipping partners as well? Also, with the social cause image - shouldn't you leave that one out so we can see how it performs on Etsy without that extra sales boost incentive? As that will also skew CVR for sure. thanks again for the vids! V. helpful.
at 18:11 you say something about clicks and higher conversions. You were talking so fast I couldn't understand what you're saying. I slowed it down but still didn't get it. What was your point there about getting higher conversions?
I think he means that by showing all the variations within one listing, it saves the customer having to click around four separate listings to decide which to buy. Hence, fewer clicks required and a higher likelihood of conversion ("shop the listing, not the store"). Because typically, POD doesn't allow for creating variants within a listing.

If indeed you are, do you have any other tips?
How do I design a mug where someone can add a photo along with text?

Etsy announced they are changing the front image to square and recommend 2000x2000 sometime early August
Love it guarantee? Isnt that a big risk?
How did you change them to stars?
I have the same question. Does ANYONE here know how to do this?
Can you please tell what to do with 2000×400 on thumbnail? Should we leave it there?
Hi, I am a little confused about How to order/ variation slide, In this slide should we show all the variations or we should show a step by step guide on how to order the product? If anyone understood it please answer it for me.
Whatever description in benefits you gave , do they really do , the company does give these really same benefits???
Do you put the 5-star review even if you don't have any reviews?
@T.elegram_Hellocustom how about no scammer
Good question, to which the answer should be no. Fake reviews are dishonest and unethical. Friends and family who have never seen this product in their lives don't count either.
Do tumblers get a higher CR then T-shirts?
V. helpful.
Good questions. I'm not sure for "ships next day" etc. What about weekends? Do print providers sent out on Saturday?
@MrsSarcastic22 some do. It would depend on the POD company you're using.
@@SpeedbirdHeavythanks. I wasn’t sure!
at 18:11 you say something about clicks and higher conversions.
@@SpeedbirdHeavy ah...thank you..yes makes sense.
Hello Stephen, i am having digital art prints shop on etsy. Would like to have similar listing images video on digital products. It will be aa great helo for me. Waiiting for the video.
I’ve cropped the thumbnail but it’s cut off!
if you don't have the time or skill to create all these photo cards would you be able to find all these as mockups on etsy or find someone on fiverr to pay to create them?
This was a design tutorial. Not hiw to use an existing image designed.more.quickly and easily. ( sorry dont care for Canva for much more than text.) Wish you had flashed the #1 video etc in sequenced on the screen. Havent looked in details.Hope you have linked.
Etsy recently announced that all images are changing to square this month including thumbnails
@T.elegram_Hellocustom shoo scammer shoo
p.s. Canva has rulers to help with placeholding and layouts.
I gotta know how many people cash in on your love it guarantee? Most Etsy sellers do not offers refunds.
Hey Stephen, how many people usually take you up in your love it guarantee? Margins are so thin I worry a little
Very little, returns are less than 1%.
Has anyone notice that thumbnail images are either square or vertical on Etsy lately?
I’m a bit confused. You didn’t design by yourself? You bought the design from someone else?
Yes, he bought them from Etsy sellers/designers. It's common to do this.
Hey I have some questions regarding starting my store is there a social or email I can text you on?
Thank you so much! This is absolutely fantastic!
Thank you!! it was much value
