I love seeing stuff cut from Star Wars that I only knew through comic books and the occasional picture in a magazine, but it is clear the anchor head scenes were a bunch of exposition that would have thrown off the pacing of the first part of the movie.
Having the droids lead us to Luke was the right way to do the beginning of this film. Still loved watching all the parts that were cut out. It fills in a lot of back stories.
Why didn't they put the scene with Biggs in the special edition?! It's such a great scene for fans. It tells us a lot about the Empire, the Rebellion, the Galaxy tc.
The action only got going once the heroes escaped from the stormtroopers in the Falcon.A lot of shots were edited out of the Tatooine shoot to get to those scenes of blasting out of Mos Eisley spaceport a lot quicker thereby speeding up the story in the editing process which made the 1st act a bit more pacier.
The Tosche Station beginning was not a blockbuster moment like the beginning with an Imperial star destroyer chasing a rebel corvette that was shown. They could edit this in now, later on, in the opening story line to complete more the opening scenes.
@@chriseffpunkt4333 No, Book of Fett is a really bad and low budget, with annoying things like Boston Dynamics spot robots on street, super slow cyberpunk power rangers on shiny colorful space Vespa scooters, Black Krsssaant being weak....... But yeah Fett had a bar fight in Tosche station and Luke's friends still were there! Fett just doest does anything - he just talks and tries to be pacifist wtf .....
@Gwentastic No, I like the original SW trilogy and Kotor, Jedi outcast, academy etc SW games! I am fan of Star Trek - TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, TAS, TOS movies, and Star Trek Continues (Fanmade)

0:49 I love this "seeing a space battle from the surface of the planet shot" so cool
That rude young woman who grabs Luke's binoculars at 2:19 was played by Koo Stark, a consort of Prince Andrew's at the time.

Underrated vid here. This stuff is historic gold.
Vielen vielen Dank für diese Szenen. Mein Kinderfanherz liebt es
The shot of Darth Vader and the squad commander was redubbed and used in the Holiday Special.

This is from the '2011 Complete Saga Blu-ray 3 bonus discs'. The youtuber here added some music to it tho.
Always remember Han Solo shot first in the original unaltered film.
So that weird machine hum in the Beru kitchen wasn't post sound.
