Anybody can give a car a lot of horsepower, sticky tires, aero, and pray that the package works together. However, when you turn off the assists and begin to push a car beyond its mechanical limits, that's where the mechanical engineering REALLY shows. A lot of modern cars are basically uncontrollable with the assists off (insert McLaren reference here). The fact that he can drift a car with tires that aggressive shows that Porsche spent a lot of time working on the suspension and differential setup. It's what separates a fast car from a good car.
performance and power is so cheap these days. for even 50k u can easily get a stock 500+ horsepower car or a Civic Type R that's posting a 7:43 time on the ring...Performance is so damn cheap. What matters for these Porsches aren't ONLY the performance aspect, but more so the soul, fun and passion aspect (but yes, Porsche do tend to be on the more surgical side, but they mix in a little of everything). Although this guy just keeps talking about how good the car is, and doesnt bother explaining why... sure, it inspires a "feeling" but he doesnt even at least attempt to break down some of the bigger parts (not like we expect him to understand nor talk about the million little things).
Whatever it cost, its a bargain, a give a way. Millions of man hours from the best engineers and racing drivers on the planet, shaped for 70 years.... and you can drive it! Its a steal man.
I own a plain 2018 GT3 and have driven both the RS versions. I think the GT2 is for the track, but with the added bonus that you can actually drive it home after. The GT3 version is ultimate road car, that you can also have a lot of fun with at the track. I felt both were just too much for me, but as per your review I agree. No car today gives you the connection like these. Simply amazing to drive.
@@loslogo Pure speed doesn't define 'best'. Driver satisfaction is more important to a lot of folks, and I think this guy would completely spank a 720S on that front. That sound and the instant and progressive response of a NA car, that would do it for me. And of course it's intended to be on the track, which the 720S isn't.
Probably the best RS ever produced, its a complete in the round performance car - I've been luck enough to own quite a few Porsche sports cars and this is one of the all time keepers. Much prefer it to any 992.
GKY yes it is. Have you even driven a car with forced induction? When a single turbo spools up and the boost finally kicks in, you get this instant surge of power that slams you into your seat. And the sounds they make are badass.
*I hope GT cars forever stay naturally aspirated even if it's considered slow in the future. The passion and howl is just insane* Wouod be even more so on the GT4 chassis. It just shouts, but Porsche will prob keep it under the closet by a little bit
yea, i saw the rumours a while back, but everyone i talked to at Porsche seems to believe that they will continue to try and keep it NA. but who knows how much "try" can do.
It doesn't fucking matter what "Assie reports" or some stupid US "car journalists" are telling about future Porsche GT3 cars! Here in Germany, some people around Porsche have completely different informations about the future of the GT3 cars! Andreas Preuninger himself said, that the new naturally aspirated flat six engine with its rigid valvetrain still has "some suprises" for the future, because it has still a lot of potential...! The same said August Achleitner, the head of the sportscar R&D at Porsche! Another indication for a future of the N/A engine simply is: the new 911 GT3 R race car, which was tested at Monza race circuit last week, still has its naturally aspirated flat six engine! With every new GT car from Porsche, the same uninformed trashtalkers around the globe, far away from Porsche in Germany, are telling their bullshit nonsense, like "mimimimi... but the next GT3 sadly is going turbo.... mimimi!!" WTF...! How do they know this...?? The same happened with rumours about the forthcoming 718 Cayman GT4: Since the introduction of the first Cayman GT4, all of these smart-asses are claiming, "the next GT4 will sadly stick to the 4 cylinder flat four turbo engine of the 718 base models and the GTS..."...lol! But the truth is: the 718 Cayman GT4 will get the naturally aspirated flat six engine from the 911 GT3... in a de-tuned version of course! How about that you trashtalking idiots?! Greetings from Germany!
The thing is, the speed doesn't even matter. Unless you are a pro racer, it's irrelevant once you get to a particular point, and even the regular GT3 is already there. On the road it's utterly meaningless. On the track, is anyone going to be particularly impressed if some guy in a GT2 R2 passes you down the straight? Not really. It's got nothing to do with anything other than he has more money. And the average rich guy who buys a GT2 RS would probably get smoked around a track by a good driver in a GT3 RS. The obsession with numbers has gotten out of hand really, being argued endlessly by people who would embed themselves in a wall within 5 minutes if they tried to drive a GT2 RS at 10/10s.
I have driven a previous gen GT3 for all of ten minutes on a Track and have to say it must’ve been a tired example, the manual gearbox was bulky which spoiled the experience of my dream Car I’ve had up to that a Day, still like Porsche’s though......😎
how is opting steel disc brakes more sensible if you do a lot of track work? Yea the carbon ceramics are more expensive, but they last much longer and fade less... the only explanation could be brake feel, otherwise I don't see the point.
Autocar you need To put the exact number and not differenciate between PS HP BHP with Porsche because every Porsche that's been on the bench got the number at least that they announced Thank you
I don't like mclarens and absolutely hate ferraris so this is the car I'll take , and a gt2 rs and a 918 for good measure , porsche are and always will be the best
This is why i wAit on dougs review...this guy is focused more on driving than actually reviewing the car in proper detail. Sorry but i gotta wait on demuro vid :(
K S Varun sure driver envolement is what ever but if you are going out to build a track car to set high lap time you'd rather the PDK. Example the viper acr set a 7:01 on the ring with a manual but if it had an auto FCA estimates around a 6:55
Mannnnn You make guys make the review sooooooo boring with such an awesome car. I felt sleepy in middle of video because you were explaining it like selling a refrigerator
This is the pinnacle of German engineering.
Plain and Simple. It’s the noise of it 😍
A Porsche 911 GT3 RS. A car built for beating any lap time with tremendous grip and downforce.
*drifts it*

Not really. Most of the old greats are appalling over the limit - the great cars are the ones that are great well under their limits.

flyingphoenix113 i couldnt say it better! totally agree with you...
911 GT3 RS a great car. I love them so much, I would ideally have precisely 666 of them. Haha.
When the engine revs.. The subtitle is showing [Music]. It surely is !
You guys are killing your reviews right now!! They are getting absolutely amazing!!!
Wow the gear change sound
I just came here for the sound and this video makes total justice..
Wow Porsche! Never fail to amaze. The best of the best. There is no doubt. Listen to that engine. Wow.
Whatever it cost, its a bargain, a give a way. Millions of man hours from the best engineers and racing drivers on the planet, shaped for 70 years.... and you can drive it! Its a steal man.
I reckon he stops speaking on the straights just to hear that beautiful, glorious sound of the engine at 8000-9000 rpm. What an engine!!👍👌😍🔥

Ooow that sound....cannot get enough of it...
Porsche is king
The best car you can buy today.
Lol gt3 rs over the Senna any day. Gt3rs over any other car
Rafael Lastra com I have to say regular gt3, cause I much prefer manual
Bullshit, it's not even the best Porsche lol

loslogo
720 s unreliable . Mclaren is poorly built junk . Porsche will take much more abuse...
why are there still no GT2RS reviews???
Don Smith there had been. And also they are incredibly rare. Don't need a review to sell them
Don Smith people cancel watching gt2rs videos because it has really disappoint boring sound.
ZDY don’t see how that’s the case because if that was they wouldn’t need reviews for the 3rs either
Theres allready lots of reviews on the gt2rs
Nicolas Dujardin video reviews? Chris Harris still hasn't posted his
Wow! It’s amazing how many cars from Porsche are atop the list at the Ring.
Haven't seen that much perfection in my life!
I've never heard such a good sounding engine 🔥
I don’t know if I’d buy a GT3 RS or GT2 RS if I ever had the choice! 😱
Great review - best yet imo. Perfect drifting btw 👍.
Porsche did it again. Magnificent car.
Probably the best RS ever produced, its a complete in the round performance car - I've been luck enough to own quite a few Porsche sports cars and this is one of the all time keepers. Much prefer it to any 992.
*naturally aspirated > turbo* (obviously there are exceptions)
*soul > performance*
ZDY YES. N/A for Life.
I mean, yeah but turbo is more fun
Unless its a turbo s that's perfectly well put together, NA ftw
@@rsaaron NO it isn't.

I still love GT3s. Even the updated RS model
My favorite car
Now we need a new record attempt by the 918 Spyder with the newest Michelin Cup 2 gen tires ;)
The way that engine sounds
Another magnificent Porsche.
Dude..you have mad skills!!
Yup! Goosebumps after 8200 RPM.
I love this car forever
A gt2rs is my dream drive. It just screams get out of my way or I'll beat you up.
What a car! Want, want, want! Fingers crossed my Euromillions numbers come in tonight

every time you can hear the engine on it's own it says "music" in the (automatic?) subtitles - I tend to agree :D
Dream car. Amazing job by Porsche as usual!
Turn on the captions every time he accelerated 😂😂
Google translator is a car guy😂
It's the ultimate n/a 911! This car in favour of GT2 RS anytime! ;-)
The Porsche is still making the best sports cars in the world
They did it again
Man, what a weapon
My dream car
Nailed it.....👏👏👏
I think this is my dream car
Nice to see a casio 5610 being taken for a good thrashing.
A Boxster Spyder with GT3 RS drive train and chassis/suspension upgrades would be the perfect car, to me anyway
Sure would be nice to see an opinion by Autocar on the GT3 with the Touring package.
porsche 911 gt3 rs vs gt2 rs! What will you prefer
Hope its very lightweight, without body flex. Powerful engine
I like how he's wearing a shirt with a beetle on it.
all hail the Porsche gt3.
Thisis the car... I would honestly take this over any car... Give me a manual and its perfection
what do they use the wide body "intercooler vents" for on this car? .. is air instead vented to brakes?
Awesome. Think I'd rather have a GT3 Touring, though.
AkaAndyKnuckles agree
Great video!!!!!
The Dodge Viper is not coming back anyway. Nice of Porsche to keep the memory alive.
Casually just drifting those corners...
Beautiful

Man the noise this makes is ridiculous probably one of the best ever.i would buy it just for that if anything else. But of course I'm broke haha.
That sound
The exterior is creeping toward life as a Nissan Juke. Blech!
Ryan C hahahaha
Ryan C Nah it aint
Porsche are fucking brilliant
You very lucky boy !
Is it available with a Manual ?
Reves to 9000 rpm yes, has brilliant throttle response yes. You forgot to mention that the noice is 20 times better in that summary dude
how does it different from the GT3?
over 9000 !!
how is opting steel disc brakes more sensible if you do a lot of track work? Yea the carbon ceramics are more expensive, but they last much longer and fade less... the only explanation could be brake feel, otherwise I don't see the point.
martin srabotnik Because carbon brakes are very very expensive to replace..
4.09. Rear wheel steering helps regarding this.

Porches is life
Great! I'm just starting out making car review's and did the 997.1 GT3 RS a few days ago. Sorry, but need to plug it here, haha! So go check it out!!
I don't like mclarens and absolutely hate ferraris so this is the car I'll take , and a gt2 rs and a 918 for good measure , porsche are and always will be the best
GRANDE PORSCHE 👍🇮🇹👍
Great review and all, but how can you not talk about the noise!?
No manual option. Cool
Beauty
Did he just associate the kardashins with the GT3 RS.....🤦🏾♂️
Foto4Max But they're fake not pure like a GT3RS
Foto4Max true expansive to maintain but it revs to 9000RPM so definitely worth it
I don't know why this RS with out roll cage??
WHO NEEDS A SINGER AFTER THIS KIT.
What is song ? (almost end of video)
Lovely, too bad no stick... So id still take a gt3 manual
The "German definition" of the Dodge Viper ACR of 2016... Porsche 911 GT3 RS Stinger.
is it just me or does that engine sound better on regular gt3 than the RS?
You got the exact same press car as Carfection
Insane car. But I'd get the GT3 because... it's more road worthy.
Also a gt3 is only 20hp less and lacks the aerodynamic vents around it but for 100+ grand less
I'd buy the GT3RS instead of the GT2RS tbh just because of that incredible NA flat Six that screams to 9000RPM!
Rejoice Rone exactly
plus it can be specced with a manual box and no wing! perfection
Only reason to get a GT3 is if you want manual
They’ll do a manual version of this car eventually. Maybe next generation
I'll take the GT3 RS over the GT2 RS, NA engine revving to 9000RPM+, lighter weight. I can "settle" with 513-520 hp.
This is why i wAit on dougs review...this guy is focused more on driving than actually reviewing the car in proper detail. Sorry but i gotta wait on demuro vid :(
Porsche makes one of the best manuals and they put it only in the base 911s ,Wow Porsche superb marketing strategy....:(
They also make the best dual clutch. I love my PDK. I do occasionally miss the manual, but for the moment I'll keep the PDK thanks.
Paul Dierking Your right but if you want a driver involving car you need a manual.
K S Varun sure driver envolement is what ever but if you are going out to build a track car to set high lap time you'd rather the PDK. Example the viper acr set a 7:01 on the ring with a manual but if it had an auto FCA estimates around a 6:55
Jaikar Chatha you are right Porsche is now all about lap times and lap times.
K S Varun the 2018 GT3 can be purchased in manual or PDK. The RS is PDK only. Homework...
That engine sound *hnnng*
the level of want is high, very high!
Never let a grown man who wears a digital watch test a world class car. If you do, this is the result......
Pasta next?
This car looks impressive on and off the track..."Yeshua / Jesus is the way "
A drivers car needs throttle response
...and a manual gearbox...
Mannnnn You make guys make the review sooooooo boring with such an awesome car. I felt sleepy in middle of video because you were explaining it like selling a refrigerator
Its not a gt2rs with a naturally aspirated engine. Its a gt2rs without turbos.
Like every car RUclipsr wears his watch on the wrong wrist..lol.. Yeah we can see it’s a G-Shock...
