Yeah, I don't want that. I want the sound and a perfectly drivable car. Not a HP monster with Turbo noises and nuts performance you can rarely tap into.
the only step Porsche could make the 991.2 better for the next generation would be building the 4l 9000 rpm engine in a mid-engine chassis for the 992 models. that thing would be the most perfect car man should ever drive.
m8 the 991.2 GT3RS is going to be insane... but the one i'm really looking forward to is the upcoming GT2 RS... the 720S and the lambo performante is going to have proper company then... bet u the GT2 RS will be better than both of them!
Can't get enough of that 7K to 9K RPM howl, so impressive ! I always had a soft spot for the gt3, wich looks less obvious than the full on RS. Give it an akrapovic or sharwerk exhaust and you've got one of the bes NA egine experience right now
I love how high these rev, the only criticism I can find to the high revving engine is that to even try to rev it out on the road you're going to be going at speeds that are going to require jail time
Completely agree! I just wish they at least had the OPTION (I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to pay extra to have the manual, even if it's usually the other way around)
It's absolutely ridiculous how such a little nobody like you is stupid enough to talk of "Porsche don't know how to market their own products"... and is "digging their own traps"... Are you crazy... buddy? Do you think you are smarter than Porsche... you idiot?! What's wrong about it when the sportiest versions of the 911 are still getting better and better...?! And the record of the 918 on the Nordschleife is at least three years old... nothing lasts forever. And the new 991.2 GT2RS will probably set a new record on it. That's life... And you, keep on drinking...!
"Yet the Turbo is SO much faster on the straights"... und vorher schon "there is an internal problem with the GT3 and the Turbo"... Depp bleibt Depp! Hosenscheisser!
***** Dein Scheißdreck hier ist total hanebüchen... "Ferrari hat keine Erfahrung mit Turbo-Motoren"... Was? Diesen Dreck schreibt jemand, der "was mit Autos studiert"! Schon mal was vom F40 gehört...?
Dream car! And great to see it can keep up. A good sign so that Porsche hopefully keeps the NA engines around for many years to come. Would be such a shame to see Turbos on a GT4/GT3.
The 991.1 GT3 of course did rev to 9000 (at least it did before they started catching fire, maybe there was a change), it was the 991.1 GT3 RS that revved to 8800 rpm. But yeah, 3.8 in the GT3, 4.0 in the GT3 RS for the 991.1 generation, that is a difference.
Wow! I find it interesting that they underrated the engine at 500hp, when they've clearly made so many technical improvements over the last 4.0L that it HAS to be making at least 520. Plus all the extra output from 8300+ rpm. Really shows in the laptime.
For reference guys, I think we would prefer the interior shot during corners to see the corrections/driver involvement, and that pavement camera on the straights
Please test a 2017 Corvette Z06 (manual) on fresh tires at Anglesy for the leaderboard. Will it beat everything but the 918 and P1 as Chevy and Car and Driver both claim?
I purchased a 2018 Manual GT3 in jet black metallic. Absolutely love the car I just wish we had an autobahn here in southern California so I can really enjoy this car without the threat of losing my license or jail!
Great job Dickie! EVO is very fortunate that you have not left like the others. I would rate this vid similar in quality to your former colleague at DriveTribe (ie Jethro).
Second quickest naturally aspirated car around Anglesey and just 1 second off the 918? That's simply Annastonishing. (I hope you get it.) The GT2 is going to be a monster that's for sure.
Amazing car... Great driving too, I'd like to see more if this journalist... The new Chris Harris on youtube? I wouldn't get it in red though. Porsche so proud of this car they are letting everyone and anyone review this car😊
The 3 fastest cars I have been in are a 458 Italia driving and being driven and McLaren 650 s and Cayman GT4 both passenger on the Nurburgring and out of all those 3 cars the one that felt the fastest was the GT4. But for that GT3 manual or PDK is such dilemma, I just don't know
I know I thought I would never type this but please get a new Camaro ZL1 on the track. I would like to see how fast it is compared to this car around Anglesey.
Wow - doing that time when he must of lost at least 0.5 sec with that pretty big 'moment ' into a right hander - check it out, it's at the 5.05 point approx - looked huge to me and very close to binning it - it's the type of thing F1 drivers would say ruined their qualy lap !!:)
Very nice. We know which Porsches you could live with every day, though... this car isn't one of them. :) I wonder how the 991.2 cars would do against it (the Turbo S in particular).
Where do you start with this one? 4.0 ltr NA motor that red lines at 9,000? 500 bhp (that's Porsche bhp so who knows what it really is - 520-540??)? 1 second slower than a 918 Hypercar? Read that again. This is why a 911 GT3 (or preferrably RS) Porsche will always be my aspirational (but probably unachievable) car. Good luck to those who've been able to purchase one though! And thank you Andreas Preuninger for always making the next one better than the last one. Mazel Tov!! Also, nice vid, Dickie! Thanks mate :-)
Porsche please never stop making the 4.0, that motor is just on another planet
So, so true! And please keep it NA of course! Don't ruin it with Turbos.
+slaWterCH
Well, a twin turbo 4.0 for the GT2 / RS could easily develop over 650 hp, but that's a different story isn't it
Yeah, I don't want that. I want the sound and a perfectly drivable car. Not a HP monster with Turbo noises and nuts performance you can rarely tap into.
Its a massive step on from the 991.1 GT3 as it relates to mid-end power and robustness.
the only step Porsche could make the 991.2 better for the next generation would be building the 4l 9000 rpm engine in a mid-engine chassis for the 992 models. that thing would be the most perfect car man should ever drive.
That engine note...!!! May the flat 6 naturally aspirated never die.
Amen to that.
So which Porsches have that 9K redline exactly? Only GT3 models?
PLEASE PORSCHE, NEVER STOP PRODUCING THE N/A 6 CYL
this just proves that u dont need 600 or more hp to go fast around a circuit... so proud of the gt3!
Yea but that's really slow track...
Bud Chronic ya proof is the BAC Mono time, no way would it beat the P1 GTR on something like spa
rejoice abraham wondering what the next gt3 rs will bring. I've heard it will have 525hp. maybe raising things up each time they perfect the gt3.
m8 the 991.2 GT3RS is going to be insane... but the one i'm really looking forward to is the upcoming GT2 RS... the 720S and the lambo performante is going to have proper company then... bet u the GT2 RS will be better than both of them!
rejoice abraham yes same! Im always alert when ever the new gt2 is at nurburgring! 😀
what a car :O
freekickerz Hoher Besuch 😌
LEADERBOARD vids are probably the best car videos on RUclips!! Thanks so much for making them! Keep me coming!
Can't get enough of that 7K to 9K RPM howl, so impressive ! I always had a soft spot for the gt3, wich looks less obvious than the full on RS.
Give it an akrapovic or sharwerk exhaust and you've got one of the bes NA egine experience right now
at 1:40 , for a fraction of a second, I thought he was going out for no reason whatsoever then... oh that's the way!
I love how high these rev, the only criticism I can find to the high revving engine is that to even try to rev it out on the road you're going to be going at speeds that are going to require jail time
Kelsey James Exactly what I thought 😂 max torque at 6000 is just asking for trouble
Kelsey James Not on the Autobahn! Deutschland über alles!
Pascal Würstchen lol yea, unfortunately we don't all have access to that
I had an E92 M3 with no mufflers, and i went above the speed limit many times, never got caught
Get the manual transmission
That time is ridiculous! I'm in love with this car. I'd still have it with the manual, slower but a greater experience.👍
Completely agree! I just wish they at least had the OPTION (I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to pay extra to have the manual, even if it's usually the other way around)
dB manual option is already available (w/o extra charge)
dB Already available later this year 😂 That's the main selling point of this year's gt3 well that along with the magnificent 4.0
TheStuntdude12 absolutely, but from a selling point of view I guess the majority will still go with the PDK
roespeloes yub ur right
A GT3 with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION! Thank GOD!!! I want one!
This means that the GT2RS will be rock on fast on the Nordschleife.

man, no matter what you drive or have driven. how can you not love the gt3 series from porsche.
I would like to know what a 991.2 Turbo S with a fresh set of Cup 2 tires can do.
That's an interesting and very thoughtful idea... love the idea
Me too !!
And imagine to put on 991.2 turbos an ecu program and cup2 r tires...
Porsche always nails it to keep up with much more powerful cars, it's just damn impressive!
Meet the 2017 ECOTY winner
This just makes me all the more excited for the 991.2 GT3 and GT2 RS's
Dream car!

Primož Resman I think it actually did 8950rpm the rs 8800rpm and the R did 8500rpm. (might very well be wrong)
Nah the 3.8 in the 991 GT3 did 9k. The redline dipped down when they switched to the 4.0 in the RS, it's gradually risen back up since.
A week of GT3 videos, excellent

First time I've been glad I don't have a 991.1 gt3 rs
the RS is better
bc106 *slower and worse ride, tires scrape fenders, no manual. did I mention slower?
I think it looks better
If you had that thing; then it'd be no problem to put in an order for this one.
Speed has nothing to do with road toy quality.
this is the real shit! who needs any of these turbo rubbish as long as there's this one?
Exige Sport 380 for runner-up at ECOTY this year?
I'd be curious to see what your lap times are with the manual. Excellent video as always EVO, thank you.
do you think this could be used as a daily driver? thanks.
Please test a 2017 Corvette Z06 (manual) on fresh tires at Anglesy for the leaderboard. Will it beat everything but the 918 and P1 as Chevy and Car and Driver both claim?
Miss evo that still had Jethro, Henry...
fwf246 they r in drive tribe now... the content in drivetribe is 😍😍😍😍
Haha I know. Drivetribe is awesome. sorry to say that, but, I'm still looking for reasons to like this channel...don't get me wrong, Dickie is great
Beautiful clean sounds from that 4L N.A. Motor...
Dear EVO
I Love the way Your hands working on the steering wheel while powersliding
Make a video how to do it in style like You
Please!
I wonder how many changes, if a lot, had to be made to expamd displacement by 0.2 liters?
one of the only few cars which actually improved with the new generation!
I purchased a 2018 Manual GT3 in jet black metallic. Absolutely love the car I just wish we had an autobahn here in southern California so I can really enjoy this car without the threat of losing my license or jail!
OMG, please! Long live the 4.0 NA boxer engine! That noise is incredible.
Great job Dickie! EVO is very fortunate that you have not left like the others. I would rate this vid similar in quality to your former colleague at DriveTribe (ie Jethro).
I can't wait until mine comes off the boat :)
Great vid, great driving!
A brilliant two fingers to forced induction competitors. If you want driver-car connection nothing beats a free revving race engine
Absolutely amazing this car. If the 991.2 GT3 is this fast then how fast would the 991.2 GT3 RS be? And the GT2? My goodness.
Wow, that journalist drove the hell out of that GT3! Very impressed!
What a wonderful Car and engine! Thx
sweet opening slo-mo :)
saw it at the javits center NYC
Sound So GOOD!!!
Such a great all rounder of a car.
Tires are a big factor when you are comparing lap times, these new Michelins are way softer now, it's not even fair
Daniel Maia but trofeo R still faster
What a Sound ! even if a 720S is much faster - the Sound alone makes it worth to buy
The 9k RPM redline is not different than the previous GT3....
Willy Willy the main thing is the choice of a manual box. which is what I would choose but I can't because I'm broke lol.
@BTICronox I agree but the first 4.0ltr was the 997.2 GT3RS4.0
Anyone knows name of the watches?
I f love this car. Probably the only 911 I’d buy that fits my driving style.
Second quickest naturally aspirated car around Anglesey and just 1 second off the 918? That's simply Annastonishing. (I hope you get it.)
The GT2 is going to be a monster that's for sure.
To be honest, where do you drive a car like that at daily drive?
Bons commentaires. Merci.
Amazing car... Great driving too, I'd like to see more if this journalist... The new Chris Harris on youtube?
I wouldn't get it in red though. Porsche so proud of this car they are letting everyone and anyone review this car😊
I would like to see the time of the 991.2 turbo S

In DRIVETRIBE the 991.2 GT3 does 1.34.96. Does any one know why the lap time is 1.13.4? is this a different circuit?
John Ble Same circuit, probably different circuit layout
Absolute weapon of a car!
Wait for the GT2 RS it will be quick!
It's good to see the Angry Dwarf back behind the wheel
I know I thought I would never type this but please get a new Camaro ZL1 on the track. I would like to see how fast it is compared to this car around Anglesey.
Might be good to try a 991.2 Turbo S - with MPSC2 tyres. Rather than keep peddling the 991.1 version on road rubber.
It's a beast.
Give some EVO classics, for example M5 E28 vs 300E AMG Hammer (1988) both
i'd happily take this or the 991 gt3 over any other sports car in its category
yes man... the only car in its class that's actually involving to drive
Rejoice Rone viper acr, corvette z06?
I bet the RS is coming and how about a GT3 RS Turbo?
Very nice. We know which Porsches you could live with every day, though... this car isn't one of them. :) I wonder how the 991.2 cars would do against it (the Turbo S in particular).
They need to make a 450hp+ GT4 Cayman with a Dual-Clutch. That would be pretty cool.
Where do you start with this one? 4.0 ltr NA motor that red lines at 9,000? 500 bhp (that's Porsche bhp so who knows what it really is - 520-540??)? 1 second slower than a 918 Hypercar? Read that again.

Also, nice vid, Dickie! Thanks mate :-)
Steve Wakeford It did a 7:12 around the Nurb, I can't wait for the GT2 RS
Oh man, a GT2 RS - that'll be a monster. But there's something about the GT3 NA motors that floats my boat.
So the gt3 rs 991.2 is gona be epic I think they Will make it 4.2 l flat 6 for more power and torque to make it faster
When we wait for the 991,2 GT3 RS that no one can't buy! Let alone, the resale gonna go too the roof for the GT3...
just lovely
Ditch the bumper cam and constant switching between cameras. Show the lap.
Hope that GT Sport can get this car as a dlc
I want to see a corvette grand sport put on this leaderboard, or a Z06, preferably a grand sport tho.
Abd junior Hallak yea that's dead and gone lol
I really wanna see how it compares tho :(
Wow it beat the last gen RS- thats saying something.
Closed Caption always a hoot. "Rev as high as this" turns into "Rabbit eyes.....".
Is it limited edition? Or anyone have the money can buy it??
Hussain Ali anybody that has the money. but I'm sure the list is long. secondhand prices will be more than msrp. especially for the manuals
Hussain Ali anyone can buy it
Hussain Ali in theory, not so much in practice, even if you have the money.
What a car, too bad this car got so expensive in the last 10-12 years.,
There is no alternative for a porsche gt3, it's the perfect track car
What a car.
The question remains, is it going to overheat again?
Which is the least good GT3 ?
Brendan N Probably 991.1 because no manual option
Nice 😎👍🏻
Leave the camera view on the drivers perspective for the whole lap.
SO. MUCH. WANT!!!!!
991.1 also revved to 9000!
incroyable!!!
Best 911 engine ever? Imagine this engine in a GT4!
Of course I know that Porsche won’t put this engine in a Cayman. But imagine how perfect that car would be.
The 991.1 GT3 Also revved to 9000 RPM
Lap time for 991.2 Turbo S please.
I'm confused. I thought people overjoyed that the previous model would rev to 9000RPM and then the RSModel would only reach around 8000RPM...
Christopher Jenkins He was incorrect. The 991.1 GT3 with the 3.8 litre also revved to 9000 RPM. The GT3 RS with the 4.0 litre revved to 8800 RPM.
Christopher Jenkins He was incorrect. The 991.1 GT3 with the 3.8 litre also revved to 9000 RPM. The GT3 RS with the 4.0 litre revved to 8800 RPM.
I could take this out in my e46
krbcrwlr sure you could bud
This new 991.2 GT3 sounds just like it's RS brother
Real winner....Turbo S!
boy can drive !
