I'll be honest, the last two PC's I've had, which includes my current system, were pre-builts that I've just upgraded with parts I already have. Call me crazy but I saved a lot of money in the long run. They've both served me extremely well.
Well Ryzen CPU's all support ECC memory, so you resell the 580, slap in some old gpu and use the rest as a quad core nas box.

The onus for support is on motherboard. A lot of them, including the cheaper ASUS Prime boards, support ECC when paired with Ryzen as of the latest BIOS.
"Not officially" who cares really? it's here and it work: it's all that matter.
well I wouldn't say it's unofficial, AMD IS the company that released an official tool to unlock disabled cpu cores and encourages overclocking. I wouldn't be shocked if they put in ECC support on all chips then just make it a standard chipset feature on certain ranges. Remember, Epyc, Threadripper, and Ryzen are all ZEN. I really see them just developing one architecture and only modifying the core count and nothing else. it'd be cheaper than developing a ton of chip variants and gives them ammo over Intel
I bought an ibuypower with ryzen 7 1700 and a rx 480 not to long ago for 775. sold the rx 480 and got myself a gtx 1080. It had this same cpu cooler thou.
what power supply did it come with? and also, is it that same one mentioned in tech deals' video?
moh you the psu its a 600W 80 plus certified the brand its generic, "High Power". Haven't seen the video from tech deals so don't know if its the same.

Newegg has some Ryzen + RX 570/580 combos for a sane price, so that's an option too. I got my RX 570 that way, then just ebayed the CPU.

I just bought the CyberpowerPC GUA1400BST from Best Buy for $550 last week after my Lenovo gaming PC crapped out right after the 1-year manufacturer's warranty expired. No optical media drive (although I didn't notice this for a couple of days after it arrived, so maybe I can do without?), and the WiFi is an included USB adapter instead of an internal card, but plenty of room inside the case and a clear glass side panel should offer good ventilation and easy monitoring of any dust buildup (which seems to be the main cause of overheating with PCs at our house).
I'm not a particularly demanding gamer (mostly into retrogaming), but I do need for my home computer to be capable of gaming. And we've bought the vast majority of our home and business PCs from Best Buy, largely because we love the 0% interest financing one can usually get there.

I can tell you what it does: double bandwidth! so pretty much great in memory benchmark and compression/encoding applications.
if they add in a random stick, no. matching stick, nearly double.
Double bandwidth doesn't mean as much of a real life benefit as it sounds though.
big peeve of mine imposing completely unnecessary artificial limits. same to me as having an awesome monitor and connecting via a vga cable!
I've been seeing these in Best Buy, they have them on display but no way to really test anything with games/benchmarks at all. It's pretty funny

Dual channel, easy, more 'pins' inside the slots can be accessed when u use 2 slots, so it runs a bit faster. Its not just about memory but spreading the memory across multiple slots 🤓

I have a pre built ibuypower with a 1080 i7 7700k and one 8gb stick of ram i play tons of new games at 4k 50-60fps some over that i get 80fps in prey and 55-60ish on witcher 3 on high settings a lot games i play ultra and get those numbers
Edit before somebody says run other stuff i do with afterburner and streaming to youtube at 1440p 60fps i still get 50 fps consistently 4k/high on witcher 3

The problem with that GPU in Particular (if it's the same card that was in the one at my Best Buy) is that the MSI Armor cooler is WAY isufficent at cooling these mid-range cards. Lot's of thermal throttling even on a GTX 1070 :(
My brother got one with a 1700, 16gb ram, rx 580 and the case is a rgb case. $950 I thought that was a steal since 580s are impossible to get for msrp and he got a watercooler for $85 the corsair h100i v2 to oc to at least 3.9

Best pre builts come from Costco, found a gtx 1070, 16 gb ram , z270 board 2tb ram , i7 6700 etc for 1299 with a badass case too

I bought this pc about a week ago and mine came with the Stock ryzen cooler and xpg ram instead, bought the other half of ram on eBay for $70 won it on a bid. First thing is to overclock the CPU to 3.7ghz, but overall it's a good system that runs most games on high and ultra settings at or around 75fps at 1080p, with the exception of pubg at medium settings to get the stable 70 fps. SSD is definitely my next Upgrade.
Geil memory screws with ryzen andwindows, i used to have a 16 gig kit and it would always fail with my r7 1700.

The thing is that u buy a pc to get out of the consoles shadow. Pc can play new and old games lower the settings to high or medium and see 75 to 100 FPS

No telling. A few GPU manufacturers intend to release cards tailored towards currency mining, but no major details like specs or release dates have been confirmed yet. Plus, even once these supposed mining cards come out there is still the matter of resupplying retailers like amazon and newegg, which will lead to rapid sellouts of in stock cards like we saw back when the newest generations of GPUs initially released. It is going to take a while for the GPU market to stabilize again.

Well the RX 580 was recently in stock on Newegg for not too much, so in actuality the market is now stabilizing a tiny bit. With the initial ethreum surge having run out of steam the mining market has receded. Maybe by Q1 2018 things will actually be back to normal.

I got that same build in the Spring (with a Ryzen 7; 1070 GTX MSI, etc) and beefed it up to my hearts content... :-) I could've waited to save money, but I was on a bulldozer and desperately wanted to upgrade...I'm too lazy at this point in my life to start a system form scratch... :-P Did that back in the 90's during the 486 days...

Ibuypower and cyberpower still sell systems at price so you can get good cards at a good price.
I think it's important to point out a few things in my research of CyberpowerPC. Firstly, simply search on Google for "Cyberpowerpc review" returns, at the top of the list, a link to Consumer Affairs, "Top 323 Reviews and Complaints". I found this alarming, so I looked them up with the Better Business Bureau, where they carry an A+ rating. However, the complaints there echoed many of the complaints listed with Consumer Affairs, including a story about problems paying employees. Other describe having a difficult time finding any customer support, but their website boasts they're tool-free number almost everywhere they possibly can, and include a chat system for support.
That there's a question to the integrity to the brand, it really temps me to pick up an HP or Dell with almost identical hardware and stay with the devil I know...

Evening is fine but that cooler. I could cool the chip better by just blowing on it, like how I cool down my boneless pizza.
You could buy that and literally get a free upgrade to something like a 1080 if you sell the rx 580 for like 600$

They should've went with a black cooler :/ Still preety good system. It's a good thing that in my country prices are not inflated, here nobody wants to mine! We just want to game, and maybe do some productivity, or in special cases, Blender and CAD. No miners in Portugal ;)
According to the default cinebench numbers, the 4770k is 822 multi, 165 single, and this video is saying it was above the 4790k while the 4790k performs better than the aforementioned 4770k that was already beating it. This performs more in line with the 3770. Hell, it barely performs any better than my lightly overclocked 8350. 4.4ghz 8350 scores 710 multi (40 points behind this) and 105 points single (25 points behind this).
You can't even really make the argument that "Well, it's a 4 core 8 thread vs an 8 core" because realistically, the fx 8350 is "closer" to a 4core/8thread.
I can definitely admit that it has a big IPC advantage, performing nearly the same - even slightly better, at nearly a whole ghz slower, BUT hitting a 4ghz wall for overclocking really limits its potential. Which I find kind of strange. I fully expect the full 8 core ryzen chips to run into a wall, but I always figured that the 6 and 4 cores would overclock better.
