I'm pretty sure I found out what my issue is and it deals with the tools: If anyone has any issues with the textures, your model reads from 1 texture only, the issue isn't the model (.DAE), it's the conversion tool. I just ran multiple tests to attempt to fix my model, it's textured and in game but only reads from 1 singular texture file. I have no idea if that deals with the .material files that the model converter shits out, but as of right now, that's where we're at. Also, it's worth noting the Skyth's tools no longer include the model converter in question nor the model to FBX converter. From what I can tell, that means all Blender methods of modding Sonic Gen models are now defunct unless someone can point the way to other methods.
@@theblazingyveltal1358 there was another converter based on the game your modding for by the same maker. Issue is I don't know how to start it at all.
@@theblazingyveltal1358no converters from Skyth as far as I know, but you can use RippingToolsGUI by Nova which along with ModelFBX (the model converter with animation ripping) also includes an .hkx and .dds converter.
Hey, maybe I'm blind but I'm not being able to use the modelfbx program because allegro-5.0.10-monolith-mt-dll is missing, I tried to search in the ModelConverter folder like you've suggested to another person here in the comments before but I did not find it, maybe they took that folder out when updating the ModelConverter but I can't proceed without that folder, you think you can help me here?
hey hey i don't know if you're still interested but! i was having the exact same issue as you, i decided to look into it a bit more and found a way to get the dll file by going through the github's commit history and just downloading the dll from there crisis averted!! i was just wondering if you still wanted this file because i am more than glad to share it with you!
A quick question, can I move the bones in edit mode and it'll still work? Just curious. Mostly why i ask is because the character i want to get into SG doesn't have sonic-like proportions.
You can move the bones in edit mode but you may get strange animations in game when you import the model. I recommend trying to edit the character mode to fit, editing the skeleton is a last resort.
I tried to port the forces model and the animations with this method, but the animations were still buggy because it's not the original skeleton I think, could you make a port tutorial?

Quick question, if a model- say has no mouth bones or anything like that or is low-poly, would it still work if i didnt assign rigged parts onto it that the model doesnt have but sonic does? (IE; ignore rigging certain parts up because on the model they do not exist)
Hope im not bothering you, but does a model need the exact same amount of parts as the sonic model does? Because i made a mistake by using the one Sonic Dash tangle model which i think is only one part or something
That probably means you’re not repacking the whole Sonic folder with all its contents, you need to include everything that was in the folder where you found the chr_Sonic_HD.model, once you do replace the .model, .skl.hkx and textures and then repack
@@hedgeturd no, i replace all the required files and changed the skleleton, material and even textures!! but stupid crash wont let me see the results!! i want a mod that removes the crashes, but also i copied everything from unleashing v8 and pasted it but this stupid crash keeps making me punch that computer of mine!!
@@syruskhodayari9126 the only reason the game will crash is because of your model mod, I can’t help you here but people in the Hedgehog Engine Modding server can, I’ve linked it in the description or in another comment

Thanks for pointing that out. I was just testing out model swapping for Gens, and I was wondering where the converter went.

I don’t remember but I do know any Blender version that is 2.8 to the latest version should work just fine

The model have any amount of parts, as long as you know how to rig the model to the sonic skeleton it should be fine

i cant find allegro bc its reporting file as unsafe
whenever i repack the archive it gets rid of the textures on the model and the game crashes on the sega logo
That probably means you’re not repacking the whole Sonic folder with all its contents, you need to include everything that was in the folder where you found the chr_Sonic_HD.model, once you do replace the .model, .skl.hkx and textures and then repack
i followed it except replacing shadow with super sonic but when i open the game and started the rival battle the character is glitched
You either need to make a new skeleton with HavokAnimationExporter 2010 or bring over super sonics Skeleton over shadows? I’m not sure
