i see lots of comments saying this is not real art. I would not call my self an artist, but i do paint and draw a lot. And i feel like it's not the piece that matters here but the idea behind creating something new that people haven't seen yet. Most times people consider art pieces like mona lisa or starry night real art. But each piece has a different art style and that's how art is. To be able to create something that is new. I bet some people back then woudn't consider picasso as an artist since any child could paint like him too. So keep in mind it's the idea that matters. And also art is a way to express yourself and if you can do that through a new idea that is in my opinion real art.

Those hating are just jealous. This is abstract. This is art. These people spend hundreds of hours of experiments and failures to make these. I am an artist myself and I appreciate every single one in this video and those out there in the world. I am a pour and sketch artist. Making these isn't easy. We take our time to find the right colors and make sure it turns out the way we want it to. A piece of our heart is what's put into them. Most of us do this for a living because it's our passion, not a "hobby". We need to support the living artists and not the dead ones. These people stepped out of their comfort zone to create all of this and they have inspired others, like myself, to do the same thing. Of course everyone has their own opinion but art has such a big place in my heart and I support every single artist no matter what kind of art they make because all they want is some appreciation and support. We don't make art for ourselves. We make it for others. Being an artist isn't something easy. We struggle everyday because we value our work.

I actually like this kind of art. For those who say, "I can do this. This is too lazy." Oh you do it then :) make one that actually looks great. Choose the right combination of colors that can really inspire people.
After all it's a creation. You should learn to respect every kind of creation. If you can't appreciate it, it doesn't mean everyone can't appreciate it as well.

Ive done abstract when i was kindergarden and looked similar to those. Its definitely much easier and more lazy art form as theres very little skill you can learn from it. But atleast abstract is better than contemporary art that only has white paint on it with black cube.

I'm surprised no one here knows Jackson Pollock techniques and live painting.... This artist was the ONE who started all this dripping processes in the 30-40s art scene!!! He was an American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement.
He was widely noticed for his technique of pouring or splashing liquid household paint onto a horizontal surface ('drip technique'), enabling him to view and paint his canvases from all angles. It was also called 'action painting', since he used the force of his whole body to paint, often in a frenetic dancing style.

@@onenighttoremember I know him from art history lessons but its still a tehnique I'm not a huge fan of. I like old realism paintings way more and you can see how time consuming those are. So they deserve way more recognition than just abstract/contemporary art ones that anyone can do

@awcutebby I would like to make the point, again, that art is not just a curiosity for people who are essentially spectators. Where is the active participant in these works? Paint is being moved around by mechanical devices and making interesting effects. The same criterion could be used for machines that shred paper, push candy into cardboard boxes, computer arms that weld auto parts together in an assembly line. By that standard, all that activity is art. I speak as an artist who has degrees in art and architecture and has exhibited in museums in the U.S., Mexico and Germany. Art requires a commitment from the artist. Please tell me: do you make art with some degree of intention?

As I go farther down this comment section it just gets meaner and meaner. At one point I saw someone saying that this only takes 5 min and I can tell you no it doesn't. The process of pouring the paint alone may take 5 min but the work before and after takes a lot longer. Let alone choosing the colors. And then you don't just pour the paint. Sometimes yes you do but even then you still have to work on it. There are so many techniques you can use to create these artworks. Simply letting gravity do its job is not the only one. You can use balloons, hairdryers, paper, whatever you think of. But not all may be possible with the paint. So you actually have to think of what you want to do beforehand. And after its dried you can draw things on it or line figures you can see in the random patterns the paint has created. And this doesn't come from nowhere. Finding the right mixture for your paint and creating specific patterns needs practice. I myself tried it once and my paint just mixed together to an awful brown.

How to be an artist in 2019:
Concentrate a large quantity of different coloured paint and throw onto subject, do a few touch ups if need be. Let chemistry do it’s thing.
Or if you are feeling a pendulum vibe, strategically place paint on to different sections of the ballsack, place a canvas beneath the nutsack, stretch legs wide enough and swing left and right so the nutsack makes contact with the canvas. Ladies, you’d have to sit this one out.
Side note, you must have attended medical school before even thinking about bubble wrap.
