Visited Lisbon 7 years later in 1998 and what an underrated city to visit............... Sadly my portuguese is limited but am a Spanish speaker.........
On July 4 in the USA we had a "birthday celebration" commemorating our "independence" from Great Britain. Certainly, July 4 was a political disconnect, but we could no more sever our family relationship than a child could sever its genetics from its natural mother. I am diligently studying the Brazilian/Portuguese relationship, and the intense rivalry mingled with brotherhood closely mirrors that of the US/UK. To me, Dulce represents the BEST in Portuguese music. I will share her on my channel:)
A melhor voz feminina portuguesa a par da Simone (excluindo Sra. Amália Rodrigues). A canção foi uma das muito bonitas e excelentemente. Interpretadas que levamos á Eurovisão. Parece-me irrelevante a classificação desta como tantas outras excelentes canções e intérpretes que lá levámos.
Was the 12th song of the night out of 22. She finished 8th place overall. Then it was the 3rd best Portuguese result of all time, and the best since 1980. It was also the 6th time a Portuguese song went top-10. In 2013 is still the 4th best Portuguese result ever. Since Portuguese songs are highly overlooked in ESC (some examples like this one are REAL music, not pop-ridiculous songs that won ESC), this result is frankly great.
To Tormenterio, unfortunately it is the 5th of Portugal in order of results, 6th in 1996, 7th in 1972 and 1980, 8th in 1994 with 73 points and Lusitana paixao 8th in 1991 with 62 points, to me however the true winner of 1991.
Still kicking ass in the current day. Recording and touring all around the world doing her own thing. Refused to sell herself to record pop music and make more money.
