Really nice switching ops. The motive power and cars look like they have been working for years because of just the right amount of weathering. Great job. On to part 2.
Wow!! I’m just so impressed by your layout concept, thoughtful track plan, build quality, attention to detail, convincing operations, clever compromises and overall execution. I hope you are very pleased with your layout and deservedly so. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce these videos and share your layout with us. Cheers, Steven
Once again you’ve wowed me with your layout. Your editing and narration only add to the enjoyment of your presentation. Enough dialogue to convey the essential information but allows the eyes to enjoy the very nice modeling and seamless transitions from forgound to the distantance of your backgrounds. Very nice! Looking forward to part 2.
Well, that’s welcome news. I’ll be looking forward to seeing much more of your railroad in detail. Slow down the action so you can stretch out the episodes. I want MORE! Where do you live and how much longer will you need to wait before you get spring weather? I live in the desert of SoCal about 40 miles North of the Mexican border. Little town of Brawley. We are enjoying daily highs in the 70right now.
@@joelshank3666 Haha, I'll see what I can do. I'm in southern Ontario, Canada. Feels like spring is miles away right now. :) Golf courses won't be open for at least a month or more!
Small world! I live 30 miles southwest of Temple (Killeen, Texas). I have a good friend who was a conductor on the Temple/Lometa local back in the day. He has great stories about operations of that train, including some runs down the branch (Lometa/Brady).
Awesome layout. I can relate to all of it because I worked in this Era you're modeling. I didn't hire out, out of Temple. I hired out, out of Galveston, and retired after 40 years of service. I knew guys from Temple. One in particular, an engineer, RJ McKay, who worked these jobs, especially the San Saba local. I did work the Houston to Temple ID jobs some. I've worked in Temple yard and roundhouse.
Love you're videos! I don't mean to be offensive, but I have 2 "twin" gp38s in your sf scheme, that would make a heck of an addition. Great runners, and I really don't need them for my rr. Interested?
Much appreciated and Thanks for the offer. At this point I don’t need 38’s, only because I’m trying to get a proportionally accurate roster. Saving for the GP30u’s, C30-7 and one day, an SF30C.

Thank you. It's always a challenge to lightly weather a freight car!

Thank you Steven. My pleasure when I get these positive responses. Cheers!
Very nice layout. Keep up the great videos.

Thanks again Joel! I’m aiming for a video per week until the weather turns ‘spring like’

Great shunt moves.

Charlie, I always appreciate hearing the stories of those who lived and breathed it. To me it was the glory days! Thank you!
Very nice layout.
Thank you Hunter!

Another great layout tour! You capture the dramatic changes going up and on the Caprock!
Love you model Texas!
Where is your layout actually located?
Thanks. I live in southern Ontario, Canada.
Can these sorts of operations be programmed? Or are they already...
Hi
If you mean automated, they are not. When we operate, we generally have a crew of about 10 to run the railroad
😊
