Finally someone demonstrating a tyre rather than just gas bagging about it. Although only found this video now (4 years after you posted it), still a good account of this tyre.
This awesome FJ needs some LED bulbs to make it look hotter and more expensive, and most important to see roads way better in the night, only about 20-30$ for 4 on eBay.
like others AT those clean itself when you spin them. so if you just go slow everywhere they wont clean itself. they best AT's out there most agresive looking too
Enjoyed the video. One suggestion, there's no need to use a D link on the the tree saver. It's just one more thing that could fly if something broke. Just put your winch hook through the two loops in the tree saver.
Great video, i had a set of all terrain ta and when i wore them down i got the KO2. I love them and since I'm in the snow a lot they are excellent for winter traction. I'm running 285/65/17 on my FJ and its a beast with most of what I've thrown at it. Cheers
Good job Scott. I would ignore the negative comments from the couch potatoes who can't afford a ko2 tire. I Give you credit for doing this yourself. Great video.
Awesome video ... super funny at the end. Yeah I took my 4Runner Trail edition for Off-Road first time. Got stuck in a big water mud hole because of stock tires. Thanks goodness I had Craw Control, ATrac, 4-Low, and Rear Diff Lock got me out of muddy situation. Yeah I totally scape and dented the skid plate but thank goodness I had it to protect the 4runner but it is a sore eye looking at the skid plate. I am researching BFG KO2 tires.... how is it on paved road ? noisy ? gas mileage ? Is the tires reliable ? Any flats ?
Nice video, shame about your driving and winching techniques, the worst one being driving whilst your winching at one point you nearly run over the rope and if it was a wire rope you would have damaged it with the tight slack tight scenario
Dude you should have reviewed the tire why didn't yo - ..... Oh you titled your movie a demonstration... nice one... thanks for all the cool footage on these awesome tires!
Awesome video, I opted for the Cooper A/T 3's between the two I like the tread pattern a little more. Fingers crossed they will serve me well on a 01 Pathfinder. Sweet FJ man!.....
Use a stick gopro mount on top of the driver mirror, you can pull your mirror in to do a pan shot! Good Videos& FJ! Texas is so Flat, I never would have an FJ if I hadnt moved to Utah! hahaha
Wow Scott! I feel like a total FJ wus! No lift, no brush guard, No winch. This is the best truck that I have ever owned. I have BG Good all terrain I need to know what wheels you have? I promise to get the winch/gard/ lift. You have inspired me bro!! Southern NM is rough.
It's rougher here in the Sacramento Mountains. We need your stuff here!! 10K plus here with really rough creek beds and steep trails I think that you would dig it… I Will follow your posts because I am just starting and you have some-real advice. Thanks man for the time that you give to the newbies. You are the stuff Scott!!!
Scott, thanks for Video. I am trying to decide on a tire for my Dakota 4WD.. I likes what I saw. I am looking really for a good snow tire as well. I won't be doing the aggressive rock climbing. I am also looking at the Kumho venture AT51's. 31X10.5 R15's
Thanks! We had a Beagle 2 day field trial at our club at Hillsdale Ks. a year back and Had folks in fro Tx. and as far east as Tenn. The show must go on right! 5" of fresh snow and my 2WD was a looser.Ha. Thanks again.
just checking out fj videos and trying to determine if they are what I want more than a jk. I have a 2013 Avalon which is a great cruising car with good mpg. Just want to get something to go off road. Looking at the 2016 GMC Canyon diesel which gets good mpg, tows heavy stuff, probably a decent road sled but a bit low for off road. Anyway, thanks for the videos. I like Toy reliability vs what I read about Mopar but the Wrangler is easier to use in the rocks and build a dedicated crawler. Bla Bla Bla.
+6806goats1 I like the FJ alot as you may notice....LOL Jeeps are cool, but are so common around where I live. Also check out the side impact crash tests....no side air bags in Jeep = ouch.
Scott, what size KO2's do you have on your FJ in this video? I ask because I have a 2012 FJ with a 3" lift/leveling kit and want to change my tire size from 265 70 R17 up to a 285 70 R17 but would like to NOT do the body mount chop. I see you have the Trail Teams version - very nice, and I like the color too.
Ran BFG for many years, all pitted and the MT always cupped, and even ripped of a chunk going up 20' rock slope, starting with my FJ ran Nitto MT, Dune, now Trail with out a doubt last longer and ride better. Even BFG own truck that ran Baja had pitted tires.
Thanks for posting the video. When going off-road and the plan is not to go fast anyway , do you just use 4 lo so can always have max torque and max engine brake ?
i have the same size tires (285/75R16) but the previous KOs though it looks like your wheels stick out more than mine. do you have spacers or something? were there any other tires you were considering before buying these? I need to replace my tires in the near future but Idk where to look to and what size. i do want my wheels to stick out a little more since I want to consider bushwacker fender flares. Any advice would help from a fellow fj owner
What size are your tires? I'm thinking about them for my Unlimited Rubicon. I spend 95% on road but do use it for gold prospecting and get off on some pretty tough trails.
bulging/bagging does not give a mentionable gain in footprint, bagging is only visible depending on the brand of tyre, foot print gain aired down is longitudinal
What day were you out there? I'm trying to gauge water levels by the water crossing between the quarries. Our event is in a couple of weeks and I don't want to scare off the noobies, haha. Great video.
Zach Hansson congrats, make sure to check out the texas fj cruiser facebook page. They post meetups there. The park in the video is Northwest OHV in Bridgeport, TX. Its run by the city.
+Scott Nguyen (FJSkawt) Your FJ makes your wheels look bigger! I have 35x12.50/R17's on order with -12.5 offset fuel beast wheels, cannot wait to get out and use them. Guys in my 4x4 club gave me grief for ordering "all-terrain" tires since we are located in S Florida and most of the trails are swamp/muddy. Cool video, I will try to find your other reviews since you said you put 50k miles on these. Jeep Wrangler (4dr) Sahara btw (75th Anniversary Ed w/ rear e-locker).
+Scott Nguyen (FJSkawt) cool man, gave your vid a thumbs up + a sub, are you running a lift or stock suspension? My buddy has a front camera that gives him good vision when crawling. The camera itself he said was cheap like $10 but you pay a little for display + software (mygig lockpick air I think).
Adam Wilson yea, it was a pretty steep ledge. Not enough breakover clearance with the 90 degree ledge. I brought out the winch since i didn't want to chance breaking a diff.
they didn't seem to have enough give over the rocks but I'm not a rock crawler! I'm putting a set of these on Tuesday I hope they are worth every penny
Finally someone demonstrating a tyre rather than just gas bagging about it. Although only found this video now (4 years after you posted it), still a good account of this tyre.
Great video. I love my BFG's!
Thank you!

My visibility is kinda poor right now, looking for something to improve that
I love FJ's..... I'll never part with my 2012 Cement.......... great trail blazing Scott....

I like the video. Keep on wheeling'. I also love that FJ! Trail Teams Ultimate Edition!!!

Great video, I just got the KO2's on my Fj a few months ago and cant wait to test them out off-road.

Finally a video without some stupid loud music playing in it lol
Nice video, shame about your driving and winching techniques, the worst one being driving whilst your winching at one point you nearly run over the rope and if it was a wire rope you would have damaged it with the tight slack tight scenario
nice video, wish I went with a FJ, but my frontier does well too.
Very nice video, I really enjoyed it

for icey snow conditions i would look at the goodyear wrangler duratrac. you can stud them.

Great video bro, presentation of tires & the fj were cool!
Thank You.
These things are neat. Wanna look at one . Have a highlander atm
Nice! Great adventure. I really didn't care about the BF's but your FJ is looking good.
Thank you for watching.
nice vid. looks like the tires never spun. Thinking of getting some.
thank you. they are pretty good for daily on road and off road weekend fun.

Good real life demo/review !

Just do the bmc it helps alot. 285/75R16 were used on this rig.
I use 4 lo in the trails and for the technical descents and ascents. I use 4x2 for the flat stuff and going between trails.
Good video - especially for being out there solo.
Thanks
i have the same size tires (285/75R16) but the previous KOs though it looks like your wheels stick out more than mine. do you have spacers or something? were there any other tires you were considering before buying these? i have 4 spidertrax 1.25" spacers on to clear my UCA and Remote resovoirs.
Cool demonstration. I liked the FJ till i set in one and couldn't see blindspots or over the hood (6' tall). I watched for the tires.
Great video!! 👍👍
Hi Scott, great video. Just wondering where did you got that front bumper from.
Trailworx Fabrication directly....you can also order from red dirt offroad.
+Scott Nguyen (FJSkawt) thanks.
that was awesome! good job.
What PSI you run the tires at? They bead locked ?
35 on road and 24 psi offroad...if its sharp rocks I run around 28 psi
@@ScottyADV without beadlocks? I'm curious because I'm only getting into offroading and not sure how much I can deflate without popping the tire off
What size are your tires? I'm thinking about them for my Unlimited Rubicon. I spend 95% on road but do use it for gold prospecting and get off on some pretty tough trails.
285/75r16 Good manners on road too.
Nice off road review but how do they perform on road and in the rain?
JUKEBOXX1990 on road is great...could be better in rain. I had a small hydroplane with them before.
Rain performance is lacking from what I have read too.
Thanks for quick response.
Where did you get the rear diff armor?
Texas Rc Militia RCI Offroad's website.
So, how do you like those tires? Are they an improvement over the KOs?
Jim K great tires, much better in the wet than KOs.
Thanks, currently running Cooper Stts, but i'm not in mud all the time so on road comfort is required too...
is this stock height or do you have a lift. nice video
2 inch lift
bulging/bagging does not give a mentionable gain in footprint, bagging is only visible depending on the brand of tyre, foot print gain aired down is longitudinal
What day were you out there? I'm trying to gauge water levels by the water crossing between the quarries. Our event is in a couple of weeks and I don't want to scare off the noobies, haha. Great video.
+Machine 02-28-2016...low water levels.
Great video. Having a 3 in OME lift and 285/70/17 KO2s I stalled on my 2012 FJC. can't wait to get it back.
does your fj swerve all over the place in normal roads?
No it does not. It does feel heavy though with all the weight i got on it.
This this the area thats just outside DFW?
Zach Hansson yes 20 min west of Decatur
Thanks, I just bought an FJ in March and live in Fort Worth and have been trying to find a place to take it off roading.
Zach Hansson congrats, make sure to check out the texas fj cruiser facebook page. They post meetups there. The park in the video is Northwest OHV in Bridgeport, TX. Its run by the city.
how is the gas mileage being a e rated tire and noise
Gas mileage on my FJis about 15 city/20 highway. My FJ is pretty heavy with bigger tires, steels skids and bumper. winch. gear in back.
No more noise than if i had street tires. Michelin road tires on my tacoma are louder.
my ko2's have a noticeable sound at low speeds, but only;y with the windows down. Highway noise is minimal if any at all compared to a touring tire.
I have a c rated tire. Not load at all
what size tires? beadlock wheels or faux?
+John Gagnon 285/75R16 32.8" tires. stock TRD faux tires.
+Scott Nguyen (FJSkawt) Your FJ makes your wheels look bigger! I have 35x12.50/R17's on order with -12.5 offset fuel beast wheels, cannot wait to get out and use them. +John Gagnon sorry for not pronouncing it clearer. Its 15k I have on them. They are good tires.

What tire pressure were you running?
+sirtubemaster ha ha; never mind in the video you state 17psi. :)
are this c or e rated and how you like them
E rated, awesome tires for all terrain. Definitely need something more aggressive for thick mud.
Nice video man. Any new mods coming up?
Thank you. I have plans for rear lower links and rear link skids. Mine are slightly bent now.
Great video!
Thank you!
Great video
+Vinh Trang Thank you!
Glad it was ok after you went through the water....
Cool Vid. Nice Rig!
+Ezra Albin Thank you!
Can you please tell me the tire dimensions ?
KISS ANDRAS 285/75R16
Great!
"its in there man"
You need moar led bars
BadAssEngineering yep with the trailworx a pillar mounts to match.
BadAssEngineering What’s “moar”; is that a brand?
2 things....never wheel alone, and get a locker....
Adam Wilson I only got a rear locker.
Scott Nguyen spinning that much with a rear locker?
Adam Wilson yea, it was a pretty steep ledge. Not enough breakover clearance with the 90 degree ledge. I brought out the winch since i didn't want to chance breaking a diff.
Gotcha. Nice rig for sure
Adam Wilson fj also have Atrac. It’s not true front lockers but it’s better than no locking front axles.
BFGoodrich 4 President 💪🏻
I can't imagine why anyone would give this a thumbs down.
Jeep people suck don't they...
Finally offroad on KO2S!!!

lower!
