What state are you in? I’m willing to bet there’s someone here a part of the GB community close enough to ya that could get you on the water. It’s never to late to try something new, and I swear there’s nothing more calming and peaceful than being out on the yak

@@drewsims262 I live in SC and fish all over when I can from the bank due to a bad back and hip.
And thank you for that offer but I am gonna be a special case just because from losing my brother when I served and the following events that took place make me extremely challenging to deal with on a regular basis.
Just imagine a professional smartass and that’s how my trauma comes out on a regular basis. It makes the most basic of conversations extremely difficult. The alternative is the VA had me so doped up that I am 4 times the legal limit and basically just a potato that made me gain a bunch of weight and make my BP off the charts.
So after they hospitalized me for 40 days last year and refused to give me a Bible for the first 8 days-I have decided to seek care elsewhere and bam-no more psych meds, weight gone, BP back to normal and the outside doctor is completely ok with my fishing tackle addiction.
I spend 95% of my time alone and helping those as a mechanic when I can. And I have been like this since my parents kicked me out at 16 years old. I’m 37 and went from a homeless, high school dropout to an NCO with CID with a secret clearance. I just share my experience with the young men that don’t have as many opportunities and are struggling being accepted by society and moving forward in life.
I am a firm believer it takes a village to raise a kid. Especially after help raising my niece and nephew.
It doesn’t matter where you start in life, it doesn’t matter what your obstacles are-as long as you have Faith-God will never leave you and you will always have what you need.
And for those that say that God is not real or exists need to be reminded that there are atheists in a “foxhole.”

I’ve owned several inflatables and love them. They are tough, but the quickest way to get a puncture are fish fins. Hooks don’t do it and rocks don’t, but a fish flopping into the side or on the deck will. I net every fish because of that. Other than that they’re fantastic.
