Thanks for fishing my old hole. Almost every tree brings back memories of fish caught. Such a fantastic spot! Stripers and huge salmon too! Then you can go through the jungle to the backwater and the ‘Land of Giants’ for even more fishing heaven. 🎣🥰 I no longer live in Northern California and really miss that place.
An another thing is watching your videos and then getting to meet you at putah creek resort Berryessa randomly was great man keep it up rip lips an sinks ships
Well I think it was a great day, even with the mishaps lol. Yeah a jig on 8lb line lol Flippin into woods minimum 15lb. Once you switched you nailed um great day thank you Greg. Oh yeah the Coffee was good to lol.
Honestly, it's a relief to see someone as experienced as yourself having some struggles during your trip out on this one. I know I surely have mine! Way to stick it out though and turn it into a pretty solid day. Thank you sir!
Looks like a fun trip! I noticed you weren’t wetting your line and tightening your knots pretty quickly. You may have been burning your line and weakening it.
When's the ice fishing video coming? ;) New York, WI or MN? Maybe a collaboration with Tom Boley? Or get all the fellas and rent an ice castle on lake of the woods or something. Get the boys in the cold 😂
I know the frustration of breaking off lures. I had that happen to me a few months back at Lake Murray in SC while I was fishing from the bank. After my third lost lure I just left. At least you're catching fish, I didn't catch a thing. Great video.
Broke off an expensive lure one time. Nice bass took off with it. Returned to the spot a few weeks later and there was the lure, stuck against a log. Was a great day because I knew the fish shook the lure and didn't suffer from it, and I got that popper back.
Nice Green fish and video! I'm a river guy as you can tell from the name and my rivers in Va. and Tn. are loaded with hard fighting smallmouth which is my passion, we get a few largemouth but not many.! I like your camera perspectives/ angles on your videos, I might try some o new angles next year when the weather warms a bit and we get back after them! Merry Christmas and Keep'em Bent!
Good morning Greg, hope all is well. Hey I'm looking at your murch and don't have anything for the big guys to wear I'd like a pullover but none in my size. Not all fisherman are on the thinner side ...maybe you could expand your sizes as we have expanded in our sizes...✌️Keep a tight line luck luck to ya 🎣🎣🎣
Copy that! I think a lot of the bigger sizes are out of stock and tbh the merch side of things doesn't have a huge inventory but will up that for future designs.
No better way to make me regret having gone into work than watching your videos as I'm waiting for my work day to start, while finishing my coffee.😂 At least it reminds me that fishing gear gets expensive so I better get my ass to work.😂😂😂
Good evening night owls! Dude, it was cool seeing you throw a Texas rig after losing all those jigs. Idk, there was somethin cool about that. Lol “setting the hook like you’re setting it into a whale” 😂
Good evening with a baked potato 😊 As annoying as it was for you to lose two jigs and get snagged, it made me feel better to see a skilled angler such as yourself experiencing the same craziness as an ordinary person. Those otters probably didn't help your fishing either! Hope your Thanksgiving was great and glad to share another Delta adventure with you. The weight may have been small, but it was still a limit 👍🎣👍
Love your videos!! You may want to get with Newport because they aren’t using your discount code. Keeps coming back as invalid. I’ve tried upper and lower case. Same thing.
Do you ever switch jig head shapes when you are fishing more wood? I like the stand up styles with vertical recessed line ties for wood. I tend to stay away from football heads unless I'm fishing hard bottoms. I can't jig fish this time of year in most northeast places I go, pickerel would make me go broke :(
Morning boys great video GB keep it up the rivers firing right now lots of bait in the system if you can stay away from the sea lions you have a good day!!
Were the line ties on the jig you were using perpendicular to the hook? If not, that could explain why it was hanging up more on you in that wood cover.
So, GB is human after all lol. I skunked yesterday after going to Discovery park where a sea lion (yes, a sea lion) fed right through our area so turned and checked out pleasure cove... Could not buy a bite 😭. I need to get off the bank fishing rut.
Good morning and thanks for another great video. I have a question. I know you don’t use forward sonar, but a lot of your crew does. How are they doing with it? Did it help their overall experience?
Morning! Most of them don't really use it. I think if they fished more and had more time to learn it they would but just not the case. That said and I wont' give any real spoilers but my electronics situation is changing for 2024!
Could you weigh them and measure them sometimes so we all got a lil reference. It’d be cool at different lakes just to see the difference with the lakes too
Greg, have you ever flipped your kayak or fallen in the water? Do you dress for immersion? Just wondering if I need to get different gear for the winter, I kayak fish in the delta.
great question. yes to both but only one where i flipped and was sketch in sub 50 degree temps but someone rescued me. I had though about this earlier this year and bibs are not the answer from a kayak this winter for complete safety. Dry suit is your best and safest bet. I have a NRS spyn dry suit which are great but not as comfortable as normal clothing but will save your life. still trying to play with my options this upcoming winter
Hey Greg I’ve been way chi ing you for a while and I love the videos. I am lookimg to get on the water and have been deciding between a used bass boat or a nice kayak. I like being able to stand up while I’m fishing but I like the room on a boat. What’s your favorite kayak setup and how does it feel?
Thanks man. Tough question bc everyone is different but I'd start with the kayak and see how you like it and if you feel you need more room or just want to cover more water then upgrade to the bassboat. I would've said the Nativewatercraft Titan 10.5 or 12 would be a great fishing kayak but now with their new TitanX series that could be the one. It should be a much better version and actually about to go test it out all week!
@@GregBlanchardFishing okay I will take a look at that. My only concern is if I don’t end up liking it idk how well they hold their value if I go to sell it second hand

It's cool to start the week with a nice video!
Duuuuude, that jig bite was ON.
such a fun bite
Those are the best days. Beautiful nature with a cooperating fishery. So cool.
The 10 pound test with a jig is crazyyyy. You are just trying to break off with that low of line.
Well I think it was a great day, even with the mishaps lol. Yeah a jig on 8lb line lol Flippin into woods minimum 15lb. Once you switched you nailed um great day thank you Greg. Oh yeah the Coffee was good to lol.

Great Day on the water.
Great little trip out there Greg. Just purchased and replaced, a lot of my favorite baits. You may be ordering some jigs. 😂 🛶 🎣

That’s why I use braid for everything! You don’t get less bites. Fish can’t see your line most of the time! Straight braid all the time!

@@GregBlanchardFishing could be…. Hadn’t thought of that… anyway thanks much for everything!
Its far too cold in the uk for me fishing
Now just thinking a head to spring and summer, being sat by a pond all day not caring if i catch or not.
I always use braid for fishing jigs, never break off.
I think you need longer casts for the glide, just my two cents.
Greg I've always wondered what pants those are and if you are wearing something that has quick dry or for cold water etc.
Where is the knocker you use? I use it all the time and got the tip from you. Thanks Greg!
wish i had brought some this day! haha

Does anyone know where I can pick up those water boots that would be a game changer to this new fisherman and tips and tricks are welcome too
Breaking off is frustrating but I’ve never broke off several times like that
Imagine if the fish weren't biting, that would be doubly frustrating. Been there, not fun, but its all part of the challenge.

Wow. You've gone back to the violent hook set. Good vid though.
What kind of swim bait is that? You call it a glide but I looked up glide swimsuit and came up with many 🤷♂️
it's a new one and a "soft" glide which makes it differenent. Nessie (9’’ Raw) - bit.ly/485M4f5
