  • Camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota with my Cessna 182 Skylane straight tail. Buffalo along the perimeter of Custer State Park Airport (3V0) made for an exciting campground. Restrooms and electrical outlets available on the airport, no running water. Hiking available on Barnes Canyon Trailhead, accessible directly from the airport.
The next stop was Wall Drug. Fly into Wall Municipal Airport 6V4 and walk a very short distance to Main St where all of the Wall Drug attractions are.
From there we went to Le Mars (KLRJ) for the Plymouth County Fair of Iowa.

Did you camp at the airport 3V0? Trying to learn if camping is allowed on the field. Thanks.

Camping is possible, but I would recommend hopping over to KCUT where they have showers and an actual campground. At 3V0 there's a fire pit, some really rough pit pots, and one electrical outlet.
