In 30 years, kids will be laughing about highlighter, contouring and matte lips.
In 30 years you'll be able to get cosmetic surgery for 50 bucks, everyone will have blue or violet contacts inserted in their eyes and makeup will be obselete... everyone will be completely fake
@@catfleas7923 So like Scott Westerfeld's book series? Bubbly.
I wonder contouring and highlighting isn't new but it was usually reserved for the celebrities.
maybe, but some makeup ages well. makeup from the 40s and 50s isn’t god awful, plus this generation of makeup has much more quality and much better artistry
I’m already lauthing at contouring 😂👌
I laughed at my mom's 80s hair then she said "just wait till you tell your kids you applied highlighter above the tip of your nose" I feel attacked now
**WHEEZE** this comment deserves WAY more likes!!!
I've always wondered why you wanna have your nose look longer from the front
OMG
I don't get the shiny tip of the nose thing either.... but I'm basically discovering makeup now because in 90s makeup was kind of worn ironically and also I'm Australian and we're not fancy were practical lol
I apply it at the bottom of the tip of the nose. Just a touch of shine.
"Nevermind what color flatters you. Just do blue." 😂
This is exactly what happened though. Didn’t matter which eye color, skin tone, etc. You just did light blue and mostly light pink lipstick. Oh and blue eyeliner where your lower lashes are and white liner in the water line.
She smart
@@bamabelle7075 omg 😂
I remember when I wore this aqua colored lipstick I got from Walgreens one time and everyone said I looked like a drowning victim lol. I was so embarrassed.

Eighties girl here. We used toothbrushes to brush our eyebrows up. Charlie perfume was our poison of choice. We used the thin barreled curling iron to make tight curled bangs but the rest of our hair was permed and frosted. We were taught that eyeshadow had to be layered in threes. One color for the lid, one color for the crease and another color up to the eyebrows. God bless us.
That actually sounds really cool❤
hey i’m 19 and i still use a tooth brush to brush my eyebrows up
I have a full bottle of Charlie my grandma got me for my birthday this year 😄 she still has an original bottle too!
@@fionn9852 Me too. Am 28. Apparently the toothbrush unites the generations.

A couple years ago my daughter found my Duran Duran scrapbook that I'd forgotten in an old memory box. She kept it because she thinks it's pure comedy gold. It's SO bad and embarrassing!

I graduated high school in 1989, this video is ON POINT.
1984 here.Same.
The only difference is I used to burn the hair off the side of my head either by spraying with a blow dryer or actually holding a hot curling iron on the wet hairspray. Ah, the sizzle. We were hot!

@@Sophie-vw5ol Well, mine never went to forehead, but the blue eye shadow, the Maybelline Great Lash, the sky high bangs, the hoop earrings, the Lee press on nails, yep. Although nobody I knew wore false eyelashes. And I wore Avon Honeysuckle perfume.
Most of us didn't wear false lashes back then. We just wore 5 layers of mascara and kept applying more throughout the day.
Yeah that pink and green cover girl.
I always wore L'oreal Lashout for decades until they discontinued.
Never liked that cover girl one that was so popular.

Welcome to the club, honey
Most people who recreate 80s do a stylized version of it that nobody actually wore. But this? THIS is exactly what people looked like! If I opened my high school yearbook, half the girls would look like this.
For someone who wasn't there, you NAILED IT!
Nolly Polly I feel similar about the early 2000s
Well because they wanted to look like the celebrity they saw except they aren’t makeup artist
Nolly Polly No I think that she really was there at that time 🤔
Nolly Polly Everything you said!!! 🤣🤣
It's frustrating to try to find makeup styles and have modern crap trashing the results.
As an 80's teen...this is scarily accurate. I kid you not, you recreated my sister's 11th grade yearbook photo.
To be fair though, we were making fun of it back then too. I mean, there's a fine line between teased mall hair and hair that defies the laws of gravity. 😂
As a late 80's baby, even I miss the 80's and I can't even remember them 😭
Lmao
Can you explain that!? I need to know the difference! Lol
@@autumnasters Ok, you see how Jamie's hair is taller on the top than the sides, and it actually moves? Now imagine her sides pulled out as far as the top. Just a good 3" plus halo of hair around the face.
That was my sister's hair. But the magic was, it would stay that way ALL DAY. We're talking the full scaffolding of glue that only Extra Strength Aqua Net can provide. Forget the pink cans - she needed the _blue_ cans. No comb, no brush, no force of man was gonna make her hair fall.
I mean, mall hair was big, but not quite _that_ big. Hers...hers was a lion's mane 🦁😂
I was born in 81 and I remember being obsessed with big hair. I couldn't wait to get older and wear my hair like that lol
By me being an 80's baby, this video will NEVER cease to amaze me. I watch it at least twice a week.
As an authentic 80's teenager, I approve this video. Totally bitchin'.
Totally bitchin 🤣🤣🤣 yasss
The problem is I almost passed out laughing because that was me lol
That was the first swear word phrase I ever heard my parents say casually 😂😂😂
Narley, dude
So rad!!
My sister was a teenager in the 80s and she still does her makeup like this.
Lmaooo
Bless her heart 😂
😳 oh my....Lol
I was only a kid in the 80s, but I remember my friend's older sister teasing her bangs super high (like gravity defying high). I looked her up on FB a couple years ago and she still teases her bangs; just not as high lol
NailsInTheCityy I guess they found something that worked for them and stuck with it. 😂
Jaime I wish you would start doing these again; even if it's every so often. Love this series of If Beauty RUclipsrs existed in different time periods. This was super creative. I almost miss you putting on makeup and reviewing movies. I get why u stopped wanting to do it though. Hope you will consider bringing back this series though! 😉😉
1984 Senior- I had this hair style only teased about 5” higher, way over-permed, streaks of blonde and so much frizzier. (I was a ‘fox’’ back then.) About 8 girls would be fighting for the mirror every single high school break to reapply our cheap Maybelline eyeliner in extra dark black warmed up with our lighter. (After smoking a quick cigarette of course.) Oh the 80s. 😂
And when we were finally old enough to go to the bars, we’d carry full cans of Aqua Net in our purses, then spray the hell out of our hair in the bathroom WHILE WE WERE SMOKING. Still not sure how we didn’t blow ourselves up.
I'm gonna tell my kids this is Nikkitutorials
Was that subtle shade
You know what yeah me too

"never mind what color flatters you just do blue"
why was this true before😂
-Maria .0. Edit's- I never got it with the blue eyeshadows! I did green. But it was an ugly green.
In the 90s, I finally found bronze eyeshadow
Princess Diana helped popularize it when her makeup artist drew her waterline in blue kohl to give her moist teary eyes and everyone wanted that look.
Lol yes
I went a step further and wore blue mascara too. Oh wait that was 90s but still
for full accuracy the eyeliner and mascara should also have been blue - bright electric blue. I know, I was there, it's what turned me Goth :D
okay but those glamour shots are INCREDIBLE. 😂😂
This is beautiful.
I had glamour shots done and they used my picture as one of the big display pictures.
It was a bad bad day when you had to use Rave instead of AquaNet. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup, but I would sneak it to school and put it on at school. Now my daughter is 80s obsessed, I gave her big crimped hair for her 8th grade picture this year.
Yayy
My mother was a teen in the 80s and this is how she expects me to do my makeup now
@CJ DUNROVIN no this look is based on the "80s Mall" style .... pretty common by 1987. Its a lil over the top but i knew people who looked like this 😆

It kinda makes sense why cocaine was selling so much in the 80s
*crack
Stop It it’s actually not. please look up the difference and educate yourself. crack is cheaper and easier to get.
Matthew Matousek I-
Cocaine is a hydrochloride salt in its powdered form, while crack cocaine is derived from powdered cocaine by combining it with water and another substance, usually baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). After cocaine and baking soda are combined, the mixture is boiled, and a solid forms. Once it’s cooled and broken into smaller pieces, these pieces are sold as crack. *insert the "the more you know🌈" meme*
Torry Robbins cocaine was also selling like crazy aswell to the high up people makes sense why pop culture was the way it was lol
I come back from time time to re-watch this awesomeness of a video, and "rouuuuuge" and "it's not gill-y enough!" get me every time 🤣
Same 😂
I graduated high school in 1987 and the accuracy of this was frightening. And I had to pause the video at the hairspraying the sides into gills...my best friend and I did that exact method every single day. Amazing.
Say what thou will, but at least the 80's style wasn't boring
Anything can get boring if u repeat it over and over xd
Paivi Pel The 80s were a blast. The music was upbeat, comedy movies were hysterical, the hairspray was stronger, too 😛
Pauli Dee: STRAIGHT TALK that’s why our ozone layer has a giant whole
The 80s were a response to the 70s.

Not gonna lie, my mom still looks like this. Blotting her lipstick is so important to her, that, in the early 2000s when I was learning how to do makeup she'd randomly tell me "Go blot your lips! You forgot!! They're so shiny!" while was wearing lip gloss.
My mom, too! To this day, I still get reminded to blot!
My friend has that heavy makeup and she born in the late 80’s.
What- blotting lipstick isn't a "thing" anymore?
Robyn MARKOW I blot my lipstick. Otherwise it feels heavy and gross.
I still blot lipstick 🤣🤣🤣
Girl you got that shit down, I used to back comb the hell out of my hair trying look like Madonna and wear the same crazy makeup thinking I was the bomb 🤣🤣
Oh, man back combing. I came here from scene hair tutorials and back coming is key.
Scene hair always reminded me of 80s hair, I wasn't too far off lol.
i love how she broke character just for half a second when pinning her bangs up and laughing at them 😂 so cute
I was a kid during the 80s, but I do remember that the “cool” adults looked like that.
They always wore leopard or sequin!
My older sister married an older guy who had teenage daughters. They did their hair and makeup just like this. I was like 6 so it was late 80s
Same. I think i'm gonna show this to my older sister
Same, I only spent 3 years in the 80s but remember all my older aunts still wearing this style. The big hair, big dresses, puffy sleeves lol.

Jamie thanks for doing this one! Brought back some embarrassing but also great memories. I graduated in 87 and I swear my senior picture looks just like you! I used enough Aqua Net to ruin the ozone layer single-handedly. The big hair, bright pink blush and the blue shadow was on point! With me and my friends we all used this god awful frosted pink Mary Kay lip gloss. One of their Moms sold it I think. I wish I could post my glamour shots picture on here. It’s atrocious but for some reason the Glamour Shots studio liked mine and posted it in the store. I had no idea until one of my friends saw it and called me. She said “Oh my gosh they have your pic up on the wall!” Like it was a big deal lol. How embarrassing but back then I thought it was so cool.
That's... disturbingly accurate. Source: I was a teenager in the late 80s.

My mom insisted on wearing her hair in a short tight wave style that was fashionable in the 30s. She wore it that way until she died in 2004. omg
“Not even, he’s a dweeb” will be the new national anthem. I don’t know how, or why even, but I will make it happen.
I liked that too 🤣🤣
I still say it.
I just started watching your videos last week. This one, "If Beauty RUclipsrs
Existed in 1987" popped up as a suggestion and I laughed so hard, I've been watching at least one a day, if not 2 since. The "Rouge" ....girl I spit my glass of sweet tea out. Went everywhere. Desk, wall, floor, ceiling. And the accent...You definitely reminded me of my 80's school friend who was from Minnesota and then the bloopers just made me laugh even more when you mention Minnesota. I had to watch this one again today. I don't know how long you've been doing this, but I am so upset that I didn't find you sooner. Thank you for what you do.
I loved this I’m 20 so 80s was before my time but this is awesome and it made me laugh how I kinda do my makeup like that now especially with the blush all up in my eyes, also you sounded like Jennifer Coolidge and that was amazing!!!
Love it! But believe me as a teenager in the 80’s we did not use eyelashes... you just used about 15 coats of mascara... preferably a blue or purple one.😜
Michelle Bartram Blue Mascara 💙💙
oh yah....my daughters grew up during the 80's and I was right there with them wearing blue, purple, and even green mascara...what were we thinking??!!
Yep I had blue AND green mascara!
Yup
Michelle Bartram Navy mascara for sure. If you really wanted righteous lashes you only washed the mascara off once a week and applied at least two heavy coats a day!! Talk about spider lashes by the end of the week🙂
Lol so this is why my aunt does her makeup like this. The hair blush everything lmao
I would kill for a whiff of some Loves Baby Soft. My mom always made sure it was on my dresser... I would use it and it would just magically appear new.
I graduated in 1987 and you nailed my sister's 9th grade glamour shot picture. Who the heck referred me to your channel my God you made me spit out my coffee.. Guess I'll check out some more of your videos.. Thanks for the giggle.🤣🤣

Jaime: *“i CoMe HoMe”*
Lmao I read this comment at the same moment she said it🤣🤣
My soul left me when she said that!
@@MR-df6fe me too!!!...I'm dying😂😂😂
Literally Lol'd at this comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The 80’s have so much to answer for when it comes to make-up, hair and fashion. That entire decade was trippin’ balls.
I don't know, I think those ugly instagram eyebrows that have been outlined and then filled in wins the ugly makeup award of all time lol. That and the baking of powder under your eye to make sure you look super dry and wrinkly under your eyes is what every woman wants. lol
Have you seen the early 2000s?
They weren't tripping, they were coked the hell up
Have you tried Mexican Coke, with the real sugar? Go drink a few and the 80s will make more sense.
At least they weren't afraid to take risks now everything is bland and depressing
Oh my gosh I graduated in '82 and I remember committing so many of these sins and I think I might still be doing some of them-I use Great Lash. Thank you so much for this!
I'm 67 years old, and I loved the 80s! Jaime, you've got this dead on. ❤️ you!
OMG. This is absolutely accurate except for one thing. You should have used the terrible little sponge applicator for the eyeshadow!
Eew hated those. The tiny sponge thingy always fell off and bounced away at the worst time.
@@spicymayo623 Girl you KNOW the struggle!
Exactly- and heated the eyeliner with a lighter. I can’t believe I put elaborate violet purples and blues on like that. What was blending? How did we live without brushes?
Hey that little sponge tip is great for glitter lol
And not out of the container, no. Use it after the sponge fell off the stick and you had to put it back on and very carefully and lightly apply your blue eyeshadow to compliment your awkward orange Sun-In hair.
It's going to be hilarious looking back at the contouring and eyebrows trend.
'Now you're just gonna wanna paint your face so it looks Nothing like your real shape.' 😂😂
ACCURATE
@z g Also accurate. And like a cat 😂 Too much filler or plastic surgery? CAAAAAT! With fish lips lol
I can't wait for makeup standards to relax. Too much work for me these days.
SadRahne that’s never going to happen
@@katia.luna213 Wow. That's the best decription of the trend nowadays I have ever seen.
3:23 I literally lol'd when you shortened the bangs. That face. You are seriously hilarious!
I found your channel about a week ago and I've absolutely devoured your channel. Mmm delicious content 🥰 You're so funny and you deserve millions of followers
You're makeup was approved by my niece. She said " her looks pretty".
She's 4. 😂
Yasssss!!!
Lol when my nephew was that age he would use gender pronouns like that too. "Where is him?" He would say lol
Kamilia funny my nephew pointed at my phone and said “blah” he’s 15 months. I’m not even kidding.
Kids have no problem speaking their minds.
NAILED IT. The Love’s Baby Soft straight-up sent me into a goddamned seizure.
I currently own a bottle. It's grody to the max, but I still love it!
Exclamation gives me migraines now!
Same! I haven’t smelled it in years. Pretty sure my mom regretted buying me that!
😂
@@jamajezzie same. Kinda hurt my feelings a little bit cuz I bathed in it when I was a teenager. 😂
I LOVEEEE this!!!!!!! In tears you are so hilarious 😂 😭 the bloopers was thee best🤗
