I would choose the first one. Although I am not a fan of first floors, the neighbourhood looks quiet, chilled and homely enough not to be bothered by anything. I wouldn't mind. I don't like the steep stairs entrances of the other two.
As a single person I'd go for number 3. Really good layout and locap connectivity. The bad view is a bit unfortunate and the sound proofing could be an issue. Abroad in Japan said for his apartment in Sendai he could hear his neighbour snoring. So that's not great.
Jeff also kinda liked #3 for the same reasons you outlined! But especially since we spend a lot of time working from home, the poor view and soundproofing were definitely issues that can’t be ignored. 😣
I would pick the first apartment. It's so beautiful inside and modern. Only thing I am not a huge fan of is how there is a side walk right in front of the windows and balcony. Doesn't sound too safe or private but I would still go for it lol
LMAO one of my Japanese apartments had a Fish Grill and it really is a game changer not only do they cook fish better than anything you can also use them for vegetables, shishkebabs, etc
Hi!! Thanks for being so patient! 🥹 It’s been a busy time for us but we’re almost done editing the new video- it should be out within the next couple of days. We’re looking forward to showing you our new home! 🙌
Wait...there's a part 2? I already chose apt #1 from that video like, last week. Lol. Anyways, apt #1 in THIS video seem perfect in so many ways. It looks clean and modern, nice location relative to the train station AND Shibuya, and the Financials seem to good to be true. The BIG problem is its a 1st floor unit. That really does feel like a deal breaker. 2 and 3 feel similar enough that it comes down to preference. I like 3 because of the size and layout. That big kitchen and bathroom are amazing, and the genkan being bigger than #2 seals it. I still THINK I like apt 1 from the 1st video the best, but apt 3 and apt 1 from THIS video are the runners-up. 😁😁😁
Hahaha, welcome back!!! We are SO glad you still like apt #1 from the first video the most, because that's the one we ended up choosing. We're literally living in it right now! It actually took us a while to submit our application 'cause we were looking at these other apartments... but luckily we still got it! 🥳 Also, one BIG thing we realized through this experience that we don't prefer apartments with narrow stairs inside the entrance. It's too visually and functionally inconvenient in our humble opinion! 🤣
@itsjamlife glad you guys got what you wanted!! I actually watched your moving in vid after commenting on this one. Looking forward to the finished product because I like that apt. Having visited Tokyo for the 1st time earlier this yr, I'm so jealous. I feel like living there would be amazing. And, it felt like EVERY stairway in Tokyo (other than in the subway) was super narrow. So yeah, there's no reason to come home and deal with that, too. 🤣😁
I would be just as picky if I had to spend alot of my time in my house. If I have the money and I can choose the right one, I will take my time and look at the pros and cons to decide and the best place.
I wouldn't choose the first one because being on the ground floor I'd feel as if someone could just enter my appartment through a window or through the balcony. For the other two appartments, narrow stairs makes furniture hard to be moved into the appartment. When I moved into my appartment the movers had to take my bed through my balcony, and it was quite a challenge because I live on the 3rd floor. If I have to choose one of the appartments you showed on this video, for me the view and the light are a big deal, so I'd choose the second appartment with that gorgeous garden view.
Wow, thank you for sharing such good points. Prior to you mentioning it, we hadn’t fully considered how moving furniture up the narrow stairs could get so difficult that it might have to come through the balcony 😮 That’s a really important thing to note! Going forward, we’re pretty much ruling out anything with narrow stairs!
Found out that it is best that women do NOT hang their underthings to dry unless you are on the floors above the ground floor. Some males take to stealing them if they are drying outside on the ground floor.
Another con for a first floor place. Easier to steal from. Which is why the one here had that alarm set up. It is both a comforting and a worrying. Since it also can signify if the neighborhood is a troublesome one. The second one. The kitchen window is too small to operate as an way to escape a fire. With a kitchen layout like that. They should have placed a larger window there. One pro I saw, laundry area. That built in half way can be used to hold the laundry items like soap. Third one. Those walls could be dealt with by using reusable wallpaper.

Totally! We felt pretty much the same way you did about these 3 places. Although luckily, we didn’t end up choosing any of these ones in the end. 😅
Though ground floor isn't usually my thing I got the best vibes from the 1st apartment.

First apartment. I like how you wrapped up the pros and cons, how far away from train station and the costs/ down payment. Thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching!!! 😄
hi nice video!, i think the second apartment, why? for me is the middle point of other 2 apartment, and a plus is the view of the garden
Yeah!! The second apartment is in a quiet location and has a better view compared to the others. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😄
That first one was my dream apartment lol
Yeah it’s so pleasant! If only it wasn’t on the first floor 🙈
I would pick the first apartment. It's so beautiful inside and modern. Only thing I am not a huge fan of is how there is a side walk right in front of the windows and balcony. Doesn't sound too safe or private but I would still go for it lol
I loved 1st apt
Same! So much natural sunlight coming through those windows ☀️😄
LMAO one of my Japanese apartments had a Fish Grill and it really is a game changer
not only do they cook fish better than anything you can also use them for vegetables, shishkebabs, etc
I liked all 3 apartments, but loved number 3. It was big enough for 3 people.
Oh yes, #3 definitely felt spacious! The huge closet/storage stood out to us especially!
I come to the channel once every day because I watched this video 2 weeks ago and I'm anxious to see where you gonna live

@@itsjeffandmel oh thanks for the answer! I understand, I'm just SO excited to see it!!
We just uploaded the new video about our entire moving process!!! We hope you like it 🥹

The first one, the disadvantage of first floor can also be advantage.
For example, like social or some other business.

I love apartment 2. I wish my bf and I get an apartment like this
Hey thanks for sharing, informative, are you planning to do more for shorter term rental? Like 0.5 - 3months
Actually, yes! Our most recent video is about short term rental apartment comparisons 😁✨
@@itsjeffandmel Great thanks, I actually wrote to Weave pending their reply

apt 3
i love no.2!
The garden view & high ceiling in the living room was nice!

Don’t dry your underwear in that balcony, it might get stolen.
Oh yes, very true. We’ve heard that it’s a pretty common issue for ladies in Japan! (Especially if they live on the first floor 🙈)
Eww! They steal underwear that’s gross
Curtains will block view. Love last apt 3.
cool place dude
Thanks! Apartments in Japan definitely have some unique aspects!
i am feeling you are too picky!!! I find all of the quite nice apartments
🙈 yeah, I guess we just really wanted to make sure that there won’t be any regrets! 😅

Apartments in japan are way too small for the money. I have to have a oven to bake
We miss having a big oven! Might buy a Japan-sized one at some point though 😅
7:11 - Great View 🍑👀
Btw Nice Apartments.
Haha! 🙈 Glad you made it that far into the video. Which apartment would you have picked?
@@itsjeffandmel Apartment No.2
None of the above.
Yeah 😅 We didn’t end up picking any of these!
