Back in 77 after us kids watched this movie when ever we were out in the woods hiking, sledding, ice fishing, ice skating and partying in the snow this movie and the snowbeast was always in the back of our minds.
Especially if we were down in a field or a valley looking up at a ridge line of trees. haha We really thought about it when we were camping out during the winter in snow.
Oh boy, can I identify with that! I first saw it in 77 also, at the tender age of 13 - at night during a blizzard, at that! Two months later, I crashed my snowmobile against a tree in my panic when I went off the trail and thought this thing was following me. Yeesh!
I remember seeing this movie on TV back in the 80s with my Dad and we both loved it!!! Simpler times and just getting to spend time with my Dad while watching a movie makes seeing this movie again makes this movie even more exciting and special!!! I remember that opening scene of the hairy paw and those big claws from when this movie first came out and i was just a kid. At least I can watch it again now, lol.
I see a lot of skiing but no one walking back up the mountains. Loved Sylvia Sidney in Mars Attacks! and Beetlejuice.

«Ужасы» 70-ых - такие милые и нестрашные: недавно увидел на помойке брошенные там кем-то горные лыжи с горными ботинками к ним, которые чуть ли не захотел взять себе, но сдержался (в своё время я много занимался беговыми лыжами и вполне мог бы, зная их специфику, кататься и на горных)!.. Кстати, такие же лыжные шапочки «петушком» были в те годы в моде и у нас в России!..

I like this movie it was a neat creature movie
I enjoyed this in 77 as a teenager because of the two real monster's-Bo and Clint.

If you haven't seen this outstanding albeit made for TV movie you'll be in for a treat. Clint Walker, the loverly Yvette Mimieaux, big Bo Svenson are part of the cast. Folks are dispatched by "Ol' Snow Balls" in guh-roo-some ways. Terryfying stuff like this might just be out there. Think BIG 👣. So if you're out skiing in the Rockies or strolling on a country road in Oregon, watch your back. Don't feed the BF. 😲

Things were different back then (1977) no pc, cell phones, CGI and it's a mild horror movie
Besides the horror I liked the cars and things that are not here today.

Awesome movie! Saw it as a kid when it first premiered never to be seen again on TV. All during the 80`s and 90`s we searched the video stores and even tried to look it up in the store catalog to order with zero luck. Then in 2002 I actually found a mint VHS tape with the original sleeve on EBAY. Only to lose it when all my property was stolen from my storage unit 15 years later. Thanks for posting

Não há muitas cenas impressionantes no filme, mas já está realmente muito bom para um filme de 1977 para considerar os recursos daquela época. Espero que tenha um bom desfecho essa história toda.

The beast featured in this film was grossly down-sized from the one described the book this film was based on !. The tv movie wasn't bad but the book is far better.

Even when I first saw this movie as a kid, as the credits rolled, I found myself thinking, how could any of them ever feel safe in the woods again? They got the thing, but what if there were more of them roaming around out there? Better carry lotsa ski poles, going forward! 😂

Not that I've ever thought Robert Logan was a paragon of thespian art, but boy, he sure overacted in this film. At least in the first half, he was the perfect angry man, yelling at everyone and everything! 😂
