Your mermaid looks wonderful already, and that fabric is amazing. She'll be even more spectacular once all the beads are on. That was very relaxing, stitching along while you beaded. Your oceanography course sounds wonderful. I laughed at your barracuda story, sorry lol. I've snorkeled very close to shore, and also dive, and have found them to be very curious fish. They look like they're from prehistoric times, and with all those teeth lined up. I've had them follow me but never had problems. They like sparkly stuff (just like we do) so silver or jewellery will catch their eye, so I never wore bling in the water. I can also relate to your jelly fish story. They are no fun at all (and I feel for you about the mosquitos too). One place I dived had tiny thimble jellies that floated close to the surface, so the idea was to get down below them as soon as possible. Was creepy to know you're going through a field of jellies that you can't see but that see and want to nibble on you. Definitely best not meeting them at all. Take care, and happy stitching.
I had a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos with my school and it was very similar. There were a couple non science majors who were basically useless and there for a party. 😂
My name is Corinna and I also have a RUclips channel. I think your projects are beautiful. I have a question. Where do you get the small cans, where do the pearls stick in them? I only know Tacky Bill's pearl tray. Thank you very much in advance.
Hi Laurie. What thread do you use for beading? Because I hate that nylon beading thread, but I can’t get anything else through the thin beading needle eye.
Your mermaid looks absolutely stunning. I enjoyed listening to your story and watching you bead. Thank you for sharing your process and your story💗

Another way cool video! Love seeing your beading and hearing about your life stories! Thanks so much for sharing yourself with us all!
I enjoyed listening to your story and watching you bead 🤩
Loved your story! Many moons ago I also wanted to be a marine biologist.

What fabric you used and count? Beautiful work! Thanks
I believe it’s 28ct cashel in Hecate by Under the Sea fabrics.

Those are just the lids to my bead containers. They're not sticky, just little cups :)
How are those little bead containers staying on your fabric??
I’m using a stand and my project is basically angled flat so just gravity 😂

It’s nymo beading thread, I love it! I hate the nylon thread too, it’s the worst! I talk about it in my beading tips and my thread ironing videos.
Isn’t nymo
Nylon thread , that’s all I can find
