krocodile.. a classic, still made, still works great, for the most part, some chinese manufacturing flaws in some, as usual, but hell.. still a great, old lure still made
I like your vids I just wanna try and get more subs myself I've learned a lot about using mybreels and different lures from you thanks man and happy fishing bro I hope one day i can get at your level I'm trying so hard doing reviews i made a video asking for advise lol
I almost missed this video somehow! Looking at all those great older lures reminds me of that old adage, "The more things change, the more they stay the same"
Cool video. That really took me back. Guido Hibdon was a pioneer of pitching and flipping. He would finesse pitch Guido bugs tight to cover , and pitch them under docks. He was a great fisherman and very humble.Unfortunately he passed on a few years ago. The winged Manns lure was a mosquito hawk.. Hank Parker would Carolina rig them on his tv show. Never caught a thing on mine ha ha .
The f***ing Banjo Minnow. I fell for it as a kid too!! I cannot stop smiling seeing this video. I'm from Minnesota originally, and my old tackle box my bio father gave me, was packed with a lot of those old lures. Makes me want to go back home for a visit.
Oh man, such a nostalgia trip. I had a bunch of the same baits growing up. Brings back memories of crushing rock bass in the river. Also, you gonna get those swim n image, and spit n image in your rotation again. Love 'em!
Thoroughly enjoyed It! You have got to fish some of those old lures and plastics. Dating myself, way before soft plastics, my box was far smaller and had two or three H&H spinners, a couple of beetles, (the H&Hs and beetles were my MOST successful lures. Caught a ton of fish on those) a Devil's Horse, a Rebel Popper, a Hula Popper, some type of shiner imitation crankbait, maybe two, a couple of hard plastic pre-rigged worms, red tail or green, some off-set hooks for sacalait, spool of 10 or 12-pound test line, some lead weights, needlenose pliers, a stringer, some other hooks for bass and bream, and that was about it. Pretty simple. Just a Louisiana boy of that time period. Thanks Debo. Good video. Always interesting!
I cant believe someone else has that black and red jig, I remember when I was younger, I didn't have gear that could throw that big old bait so it just sat in my tackle box looking gnarly, I would love to see you catch something on that
I used to have soooo many of the same lures Debo (even the huge one you said you never used)! Oh the nostalgia of watching you go through it all. My favorite topwater lure of all time was the original Heddon Chugger Spook in black. Lost it to a dang mudfish and have been sick about for the last 30+ years, lol. The plastic lure you're wondering about at 15:57 was called the "Dragonfly". I never caught anything on those goofy things, but I thought they were kinda cool looking as a kid. Unfortunately, none of my childhood fishing gear made it very long. I either used them all up, lost them, or the elements got'em. Thanks for bringing us down memory lane.
Hahah indeed! The black jitterbug was one of my favorites. I picked up a new one to fish this year. Yea, some of them just looked too cool not to get 😂😂😂
DUDE, those little rapala floating minnow dealy’s; I caught my first like “decent” sized bass on a blue and silver one, with a little orange spot on the throat. Sounds like the same one your dad caught his PB on. I still love those lures like you said. Thanks for the video Debo.
Great fun watchin' this one. Get that tiny torpedo out on the water again. They're bass catchers still, just like the jitterbug and hula popper, which were the big 3 back in the day.
Sweet, gonna be a "Retro Feeeeesh Catching" video on the horizon. You for sure need to find the tails for that ol-skool-cool lipless crankbait! Go on, you know you want to :-)
That in line spinner Mepps with a minnow... I just found two of mine, two different sizes, and put them back into use. Caught trout, crappie and bluegill. Took my back to fishing with my dad when I was a little squirt.
I had most of those too, acquired from Bass Pro Shops as well...had red, blue and salt&pepper of those jigs you showed last...I remember wanting those because they had that extract rattle attached, ran the craw as a trailor and got hooked on bass fishing.
I used to absolutely loooove anything Bill Dance, esp. the Excalibur crankbaits, and the best part was the Excalibur rotating treble hooks! Thought I was an absolute champ when I caught fish on those!
Lol I used to love those stupid Banjo Minnows! I caught so many fish of the docks at our boat marina. I'm pretty sure that last frog you had on a jig was a Banjo Minnow frog too. Always used to love rummaging through people's tackle boxes and this was a good one.
Awesome video man! I have not seen some of those in a long time. The black and blue craw that said "Guido's Bug" was an old soft plastic from Guido Hibdon. I think he passed away. He was so popular when I was young! I had so many of those lures. Thank you for sharing bud!! I rang that bell!!
Banjo Minnow!!! I used to slaughter fish on those! The dying crippled minnow technique was killer!! Love the nostalgia brother. The Rebel PopR and Chug Bug were my favorite top waters. Same with the sassy shads! Happy Easter brother!!
Banjo minnow! I bought one of those kits off the TV and never caught a fish on one. What a scam. Great videos! I looked through my late grandpa's tackle box. Unused since the 40's or early 50's so many old Creek chub lures and a ton of stuff I don't even know what the names are.
That was awesome. Brought back memories. Did I see a Banjo minnow? I'm disappointed I didn't see the "flying lure" or the helicopter lure. Lol awesome video. I just found your channel and love it. Keep it up Debo!!!
The dilemma anglers often discover, as they grow older is how many types of new lures really improved catching fish. The lures you trusted when you were young still work just as well now as in the past. Many of the lures in your old tackle box prove this point. When I go fishing now I cannot remember a day when I didn’t catch fish. The reason most anglers fail is they do not know how to adapt their presentation to the conditions. Many anglers from the past used only a few lure types and only a few rods and caught tons of fish. If you learn to master one lure to its total potential, you only need one lure is true. I learned you could catch fish on top water baits as long as the water is not frozen. How I did this is by using only top water lures for a whole season and nothing else. I also did the same with jigs, spinnerbaits, plastic worms, and crankbaits. These are the five food groups of fishing lures. Most anglers today buy so many styles of lures and never learn to master one. That suits me just fine because I seldom worry about fishing the same spot after other anglers leave. In fact, I giggle quietly when I catch fish they couldn’t. The truth is fishing boats, trolling motors, electronics, rods, reels, line and lures have improved but this has made anglers dumber than ever before. How many millions of dollars did the sponsors of Kevin VanDam make on every tournament win? I guess a lot, because every dummy looking for the magic lure runs to buy the lure he used. Professional fishing is all about the money. Lures in your good old tackle box Gator tail worms, Lazy-Ike (Flatfish copy), Creek Chub style jointed minnow, Bomber crankbaits, Mister Twister grubs and paddle tail shad. Trout Slayer craw by Trout Magnet, Banjo minnow, Cappie crickets. You should do a five-lure challenge using only your good old tackle box. If you never bought, one more lure you would likely still have some left 20 years from now. Nevertheless, that would take a lot fun out of fishing. Buying new lures that prove better than older tested ones often proves difficult, as you grow older.
The bill dance lures have a unique hook system, more spiral if u look down at it, i have a shad color lipless crankbait, it was my dads. I never use it just keeping it.
I think you're jointed minnow is a L an S micro lure. The worms looked like gator tails great worm 5 in. Enjoyed your video. Always fun to see what old lures people have.
I sometimes cut off a 1/4 an inch of a live worm stick it on a 2/0 hook and then put a small double tail grub bait. Its the juice on clear days in murky, weedy water.

Thanks for watching! Yea, looking through this stuff is like a time warp. I remember specific days and baits. I'll certainly put these old lures to work! 👊
4:27 I think those are the “old” gator tail. Their materials are way harder than now which makes a great thump that has a great searchbait vibration (As imakatsu says) but their material is softer now so you wont be able to get them now
Debo that first shad pattern crankbait you didn't know what it was is a Bandit 200. Bandits had that distinic groove on the side. Catch it with a Bandit !

Another great video Debo. Very interesting lures ive never seen before. I went out yesterday with a buddy of mine and theres a story and a picture I think you'll like so I sent it to you on Instagram. If you have time to give it a read. Same name as here.
How about using some of your more unusual plastics like the ones with all of the strange appendages more preferably ones that you never fished or never caught a fish on. Then, maybe, you could give an evaluation on them and tell us what you think of their effectiveness.
I needed to add an "ol" and "back in the day" counter to this viDEBO 😂 Comment below and let me know what old lure you want me to fish this year!
Make a cleaning video with that baitcaster

Yep, it's funny how those little things will take you back to an exact memory. Thanks for watching man!
DEBO'S Fishing thanks for making the video. Fish on!
how did you forget about all of those cool lures?! You should definitely make a challenge vid with that old worm booklet.

Always enjoy seeing tackle. Especially older tackle ✊🏻
Agreed man, always fun to see the different lures that people have confidence in. Thanks for the support 👊
The one worm was a gater tail. Still have a box of 5 inchers.
Maps comets, the one with the little rubber fish on it. Those still kill it. Love the nostalgia. Great box dude!
I love looking back at the old lures! Thanks for watching 👊
Definitely the camel I went through mine the other day found my grandfather's wooden lures
