Chris Hainey, after a masterclass song, drums so hard its like a middle finger to the devil, and then just drops a stick, wipes his brow, and goes back to the xylophone.
i bought their album, wore the helll out of that cd, know everyword everybeat, sort of lost track of them for about amost a year, glad to hear new stuff.
@Adriancrazysir @rajtherat Makes way more sense to count it in 6 so the majority of the polyrhythms fall on the count; also this means the back-beats fall on the count so they're not on 2 then 1 then 3 but 2 4 and 6 instead. Obviously it could be counted either way - I wouldn't be surprised if each of the guys counted it differently - but from a learning perspective, 6 makes this a lot more comprehensible than 3.
thought of click on a random performer.. all i saw was the thumbnail of a guy and a guitar... they r alrite! mite even see more of them even contemplating download their torrents... good surprise! gonna keep taking those chances in life xD
@MsJeffreyblaine Maybe if you have no appreciation for incredible musicianship. I assume you just made a grammar error here though. Maps and Atlases are incredible live.
I hate the hipsters in the front acting like they're on acid because they listen to music that's "exclusive" and not on the radio. This isn't weird music. It's just straight up amazing, which can be achieved without drugs.
This is my great uncle and I'm so happy I found this.... Family told me for years but could never find it!
Who?
Liking every comment so yall can come back to this masterpiece

Only Copeland comes close
An amazingly talented band...Chris Hainey might be the most underrated drummer in America....
I want to create endless amounts of youtube accounts just so I can like this video over and over.

I think it is really great that this music is easy to listen to but at the same time rythmical complicated as fuck.
Such inventive drumming. Sounds like nothing I've ever heard before...
Gah. I need to learn this on drums.
The drummer is definitely beastly, but the whole band is amazing!
2 people wish they had the talent of Maps & Atlases

"Beyond Bludgeoned" by Brain Drill
@upsetTHEBEAR Kind of a harsh reply, but aight. Are you watching them? I don't look like I have the downs when I listen to good music.
The vocalist sounds like if Alan Rickman had been born in Portland, Oregon.

Don Caballero with vocals. : /

This stuff would be great without the vocals (imo)
