Awesome video, great to see these are coming out! Can’t wait to get one once my Blazer SS EV arrives this fall 🤞
Exciting! Thx 4 the vid.
Thank you for the video, I have searched, researched for this package and finally I found your video. My GMC in my city are clueless. They were quick to sell the Hummer but that’s where it ends. Daily I hear “I’ll call you back”. Never do they return a call. All they seem to know is about the Level 1 and 2 charger. They have no idea where to find this one, including parts. I see the order number so maybe that will clue them in! 😢
I'm sure you used a 6/3 romex cord...you're indoors so that is still within code..I put one outside...also there was need for a nuetral..I'm sure you capped that one.. I used all #6 wire even the ground was #6 which is standard code out here in Cali. Thanks for the insight here.. I didn't know that small connector was for a thermo reading nor did I know I needed that Bluetooth code from the back. GREAT VIDEO 👍🏼
Nice job!
Thank you!
Hi David, how did you get the WI-FI working on this EVSE? Thank you.
Buying a 2024 Cadillac lyriq for my parents. What is the best charger to optimize charging capabilities of the car battery?
Do you have a video on the use of the GM Ultimatum GM EVSE and Application?
How did you install the ground and Black wire ? the screws are not straight/reachable with straight screw driver and I can't get them tightened.
Thank You! Very well done. Can you please tell me how to get the link for installation information? Thank You!
Good video
Would love a follow up especially about the app?
Hi David,
Great video. I just bought same unit as yours, however the electrician said he cannot hard wire because of some issue that GM has not resolved for the hard wire method. If I want just a NEMA plugged then it should be alright, but I do not get full 11.5 kw and there maybe ‘tripping’ issue with NEMA plugged. What do you think? Do you hear anything about hard wire issue with this charger from GM? It’s a cleaner look with hard wire vs plug in?
Thanks
You can set the Circuit size in the app the prevent it from pulling to much power. The issue from GM is due up it being hard to get to the lugs to get proper torque. With an Allen key I was able to torque much tighter than with the included tools so I'm comfortable with my install
Manual clearly states 9.4kw with plug and 11+ kw with hardwire
Thanks for the great video. You might’ve said, but how long is the charging cable? Thanks! So I guess
25ft
Does your charger hum loudly when charging? I was hoping to see it in use.
HI David. I don't see your follow up review.
Hi David! Sorry, I don't know where the neutral cable (white) is connected to the equipment, could you help me tell me where it is connected? That would help me a lot! Greetings!
Do not connect it anywhere. This is a straight 240 volt. No neutral loads.
How has this been working so far for you? I have just purchased one. How is the app?
Did you have any issue pairing with iOS?
When is the planned release for the GM two way or bidirectional charger?
Available now
nice Video. can you use this EVSE with non-Ultium battery car. i.e Chevy bolt EUV?
Yup. Ultimum is really just branding on this. It still uses a regular CCS plug and what not
@@DavidWaltermyer Regular J1772 Plug not CCS.
How does it go from 110 to 220 once installed? I just had mine installed but it’s only charging at a very slow speed. I had a 220 installed. Is there a switch somewhere or dial?
If used a receptacle Maybe one hot is on the dead blade since it does not use a nuetral and you're pumping only 120v to the charger?
Try adjusting charge speed in the App
Nice and clean but not a fan of how your conduit terminated. Should be an end connector so no sharp edges. I believe that rear port is for true through wall connection, not underneath. I plan to run my conduit to the port you removed the plug cable from. Will need a larger connector reduced down to conduit size. Thanks for sharing.
that's fair. I'm not an electrician. That being said I did go back and add rubber bushings
Any updates on this EVSE?
Where does the white wire plug into
Hello, I have the same problem, did you know where it is connected? The white neutral wire? That would help me a lot
Wow halfway thru the video and wondering why they made this to be so complicated
How to download the app?
Thanks
How do you shut it off when it's not charging?
Are the lights illuminated when not charging? Is there a way to disable or dim the lights within the App?
I see you had 3 wires and copper ground, you didn't show where they were connected. The install guide only shows the 3 connections. I had a hard time pulling 4 #6 cables and now dont know where to connect copper ground.
Only 3 wires are needed. I didn't use the 4th. I already had this wire laying around
@@DavidWaltermyer thanks for quick reply, I should have checked sooner,it wasn’t easy pulling # 6 solid copper.
Will this charger do V2L?
No
Didn’t show any need for the white wire. Could have used 6/2 romex.
Correct. I already had the wire on hand so I put it to use.
I do not recommend back feeding this without a proper fitting. You could easily damage the feeder wires. It should have been bottom fed. Contact a qualified licensed electrician.
watching you do this while leaving it in the box was infuriating
Having full confidence in what you were doing was your mistake. Your installation wasn't to nec codes and obviously the work of a non professional overconfident homeowner type .why do people like you who obviously aren't professionals post videos showing other people how ? So they can get it wrong as well ? You people need to stop already.
