Anyways this is my chance to loredump about the context of Half Life. In Half Life 1, or this game, the remake of it named Black Mesa: You play as Gordon Freeman, a scientist at the Black Mesa research facility. You pick up your hazard suit and go conduct a experiment with a machine which causes a catastrophe damaging the facility, and letting in alien invaders. Gordon is trying to escape from Black Mesa and save the scientists, However the military came in to eliminate all aliens and all witnesses to the incident including innocent security guards and scientists. Eventually Gordon has to destroy the source of this invasion by going into Xen and defeating the creature behind it
I always wondered how much it took to build all this and how much power it must take to run. It’s interesting to think about what led up to this being built.
