I really hope polar pro continue to make a range of filters for this system. It's a shame they went the Apple route with this matte box. Considering it's aimed at indy creators the whole system is still a bit pricey imo.
Resale value will never be as good as industry standard gear and there is no cross compatibility so renting/trading/borrowing common filters will not be possible.
I could see this being bought for a specific use; like a gymbal/stabilised rig because of the slim form factor, or a rig for documentary film making where the variable ND could come in clutch.
But bloody hell man, £750! I'll stick to my cheap matte box and second hand Tiffen 4x4s

It's nice to see more affordable matte boxes coming out I payed $250 for my firs mattebox and it really changed the way people perceive the value of your camera 😆

The matte box more money thing is so true. Whenever I go anywhere with my camera, I bring my matte box even if I don't need it. Loads of people try and give you their business cards. When I don't have my mattebox, I swear I don't have as many people handing me their business cards.

What's the point of using ND filters when you can add motion blur in post! By adding motion blur in post, you will also have the option to digitally stabilize your footage without artifacts. :)

It will be interesting to see how much they expand their filter lineup in the future since it’s a closed end system. They have the main things covered so far.

Ay yo, Mr Potato. I'm currently only using screw-on variable ND's, so having this Polar Pro kit would definitely help me flex for my clients and friends. If you send it to me in Tasmania I'll let you come hang out with our chickens and Beemo the beagle.

What a deal. Reasonably priced at free if I am the lucky winner. I’m guessing the decimal falls after the 99 and not before. You should make a video driving down the highway with that cool “car gimbal” just to get reactions of other drivers. Maybe flying your drone through other people’s Jeeps.

Ive been shopping for a Matt box I just bought my first red camera red raven and all I have is photo glass this is perfect for production!
With the rectangular shape it looks like you've got a TV slapped on the end of the lense and I'm digging it.
