This made me so sad to watch I met up with him way back in the mid 60's in Aden of all places when he was entertaining the troops, so funny on and off stage, a real entertainer.
He obviously needed some financial help so wouldn't it have been nice if one of his fellow Liverpudlians like one or more of the Beatles could have stepped in? They all have millions! I have heard the elderly of both genders find some happiness and comfort in life's circle seeing a new generation playing in parks. I can understand that, there is nothing remotely sinister about it, yet I recall during the witch hunt and subsequent attitudes a move was made to try and bar single makes from parks...
