  • I once saw Freddie perform this piece at a corporate - MAGIC! His "Indian" bit is at • Freddie Starr - his In... - or perhaps I should say "Native American" - more PC - but then Freddie was never PC!

Since that time about 25 years ago had call to se it again and every time just as I seeing now, in hysterics, laughing out loud with tears coming down my eyes. Years ago, my sister-in-law called me one Friday after work, and the conversation went like this:
SIL: What are you up to tonight?
    Me: Nothing, why?
SIL: Do you want to come and see Freddie Starr with me?
Me: Oh, not really. He’s not my cup of tea.
SIL: Oh, go on. I was going to go with your brother, but he’s not well and I don’t want to go on my own.
    Me: Oh, alright.

An obviously drunk Barrymore and Starr were hilarious trying to one up each other, till they both ended up pants down, buttocks splayed and displaying their balloon knots to the crowd, in the end I think they did one up each other, absolutely vile, my 6 year old was traumatized, my mother-in-law stopped speaking to me, my nan and nandad loved it though.

Probably the funniest man I've ever seen live on stage, not only a very funny comedian but also a great singer, not many people know that he started his career in a band as lead singer and released a few singles, you can see some footage on you tube, his rather 'worrying fixation' of Elvis as someone mentioned earlier stems from the man being a huge Elvis fan and as such he was the 1st Elvis impersonator on UK telly, this was way before the world was overrun with them, and he did a great job.

Freddie was one of our greatest entertainers ever. His death and how his health had declined after the vile accusations was a tragedy. He is so missed for the wonderful comedic talent he had. The current crop of talentless PC garbage like Michael McIntyre, Alan Carr, couldn't wipe this man's shoes. Like Ken Dodd another of my heroes Freddie was an absolute legend. God bless him I wish he knew how much he was loved. RIP Freddie you should still be with us.

Yeah, totally agree Timmy! Freddie was certainly a 1 off..Hilarious and unpredictable, with a beautiful singing voice. I fell in love with him the very first time I saw him live...So Badly Let Down Via False Accusations that took a terrible toll on his health..Wonder where all his showbiz mates were for him towards the end of his life? So Very Very Sad...There will never be another! Freddie Starr, You Were A Starr, and Always will be..RIP LUV!
