@@Captain_Cremation Use reference images and take your time with them. I usually look for logos or vehicles from real life or films/shows/other games that have a similar vibe to what I'm trying to make, and I'll have those up on my laptop while I work on these and listen to a podcast or something. It takes days to make some of the emblems, spending an hour or two a night on them, and I often have to redo them completely when first/second tries don't come out the way I want. If you start to get frustrated with one, just give it a rest for a while and come back to it later. I almost gave up on the SCYTALE emblem for this crew twice, I just couldn't get the perspective on that prism to look right, so I didn't touch it for like two weeks and then tried again and finally got it. Overall paint jobs can take even longer for me. I've definitely spent upwards of 80% of my time with the game just making and placing decals 😅
I love the Lore you’ve built around your AC’s and Pilots, I particularly love how JAMLINE just kicks everything! (Quick edit, I also love the idea that Pigpen just has a giant collection of anime she hoards)
Very cool. Love the lore as always. reading the lore of 7-bit I'm kind of surprised he didn't have the coquillett's in the weapon bay with empty main weapon slots so he could 'quickdraw' his pistols like an old west gunslinger. Not even to punch things, just so he could emulate the old west gunslinger even more.
I did set him up that way at first, mainly to allow for punching, but I just didn't like the silhouette when the guns were holstered. How cool would it be if they gave us hip holsters for handguns though?
Absolutley love The Witch of Bona Dea, they sound like an actual AC protagonist, random person who gets brought into an organization but is only in it for revenge, silent protagonist vibes. The hymms covering the Ac look just amazing also
The main thing that stops me from doing the same stuff you do is the decal system. I just can't seem to make things look the way I want them to... But I love these videos, and all the work you put into them clearly shows.
It's kinda funny that in Spanish PCA is ACP (administración de cierre planetario) so was kinda weird heard PCA and ACP together as someone who played the game subtitled in Spanish
You guys have inspired me to chat to some of my gamer friends about making a "warband/merc group" idea like you guys have here. These videos are awesome keep up the great work.
Amazing work! You truly have the best AC6 PvE content out there, if not some of the best AC6 content period. Everything is so meticulously done - lore writeups, decals, playstyle. Fantastic. I think Hellkite and Apus Apus were my favorites this time around, but the simplicity and effectiveness of Jam Line is so cool too.
This might be strange to hear but ur videos really make me want to play a pen and paper rpg set in the AC universe lol Insanely good videos, they make the game feel so much richer 🙌
Excellent piloting and excellent writing and designing, really happy I got recommended your video and channel! Its heartening to see someone else engaging with the roleplay aspect, I do some quietly to myself but I really appreciate the effort you've gone to sharing what you've come up with!
I've been having a few hard days recently and when I saw this my face lit up like a candle. (Though I didn't get pilebunkered for it.) There really is something to be said for the way you ACT out these pilots' personalities in each of these videos. And after some consideration I have decided that the previous sentence does not show enough of my love and adoration. Let's go through this bit by bit, there's a lot of peak here to sort through but I think we'll get there in the end. Hopper has apparently made the stylish decision to never let the AC touch the ground, always finding some obscure, untouched piece of level geometry that no one has thought about for months to perch on and look badass, without fail. Bonnie is like 617 returned from the grave with a vengeance, zipping around at insane speeds just to build up to the absolutely heart stopping spectacle of slamming not one but TWO gatling guns right into the cataphract's face (bonus points are most definitely awarded for making the *already* incredible sound of the gatling guns sound even cooler when combined with the dramatic slowdown you get from killing a major enemy. As a sound design nerd I almost died right then). Pigpen takes the whole concept of "you have to use these weapons together it's the meta" and throws that all out of the window, literally defying all expectations by *forcing* these weapons to be synergistic and wreak havoc on everyone for it. Rohonc makes every move look so damn calculated and staggers fire in a way that seems to me like he's imagining every shot as the finishing one, especially when he's facing down that HC without fear and just relishing the fact that he's about to tear it to pieces. Alberti's background definitely explains his tendency to lock in on whatever pieces of solid ground he can find and immediately evaluate them, since in space that would be priority number one at all times. (He also gets bonus points for staying true to the in-game descriptions of his parts--the laser rifle was literally built for anti-PCA warfare, and the heavy quad legs were designed as a stable platform from which to fire heavy weaponry, exactly the way in which he uses them against the helicopter here.) Lastly but not least-ly the Witch just comes across as this complete menace, using Coral weapons on a planet where few ever have the right to bear these parts, and shoving the pile bunker through anyone getting in her way--all the while doing it with an AC that has a massive chunk taken out of its torso. All incredible, more so than I can ever put into words. Now I'm sure these things I just described in overly excessive detail are very obvious to everyone reading this comment, and was very much in mind while you were making this video, but I hope this demonstrates even just a small percentage of the adoration I have for these videos. I didn't even mention the amazing paint jobs and decal work, which go far beyond my simple mortal brain's capability to comprehend. (In other words, I am terrible at making decals.) But with videos like this for inspiration, how can anyone stay feeling down? That's not how peak content works!
This is such a thoughtful and encouraging comment. Yes: "how can anyone stay feeling down?" (wiith feedback like this ? ) This creator, clearly, spent so much time making this, and you, clearly, spent so much time watching and developing commentary, and I know you both benefitted from the exchange. What a pleasure to read. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to write all this out. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! A big part of why I started making them was because I wanted to show how much thought the dev team put into this game, and how you CAN role play within the mechanics they've made. I feel like a lot of people get caught up in worrying about how they "should be playing" this and other games, but they forget that they're here to play, and playing is inherently an imaginative process. I think Fromsoft's games often meet players on those grounds, and make a lot of room for a person to use their own imagination in the framework they've put together, and encourage the player's ability to explore within it. It's really an accomplishment that in what seems to be on its surface purely an action game, you actually have the ability to play a character that's all your own, or any number of characters you want, just through how you engage with that action. And then on top of that it's got one of the best aesthetic customization systems ever put in a game. I'm really looking forward to what they do next with the series and with their other projects.
Thank you both for the great responses. After writing all that I was feeling pretty insecure, but I'm glad my passionate rant ended up creating some smiles. I definitely think that people can take playing games too seriously and forget to have fun, and part of the reason I loved this and the previous AC6 videos is because they focused more on the fashion and fancy moves than trying to make something you can beat people over the head with. It feels like there's a real human pilot in there, and by having fun with this game you are allowed to believe that you are that pilot. That I feel is one of the big pros to having 621 be a total blank slate character, they could be anyone under those bandages we see in the story trailer. It prompts a lot of creativity, and with this game that equals replayability, so it's a win-win! Hopefully one day we get a DLC or sequel to this game that adds even more fun stuff for us to play with, I know I'll be looking forward to seeing what everyone cooks up!
I love this idea for a faction! I especially loved 7-BIT and K4 Rohonc. Yeah that's certainly one of the weirdest paint jobs I've done so far and I love how it came out. I wanted it to look like burning cinders and also have a really busy, kind of cyberpunk vibe. I also wanted to include in Pigpen's bio that she designed all of their registration and part cataloguing decals, and based them on the visual style of a cartoon she liked so she could use them to decorate her AC in the same style, but I only get so much room to write those and had to cut it out. That's where the bit about her animation collection came from though.
I must say your decal work is absolutely heavenly, but your actual builds, like, you need to be put away from the stove.😅 I love Kasuar legs but that first build was kinda 💩. I feel like you could have use other way, lighter weapons that will not only fit with the anti closure protocol thing, but also actually allow you to use more weapons because of how demanding Kasuar legs load limit is! 😅 ( not trying to be mean.Especially because of the decals 🔥🔥🔥)
Glad you like the paint jobs! And I get that the builds aren't going to appeal to everyone. I build the AC's for style and fun, not to make them the most effective machines possible. At the end of the day, the game isn't that hard once you get the hang of it, so playing with subpar, or even bad builds, is a fun way to increase the challenge and make machines that I think look cool. For example INSPECTOR for the Akitsu crew was specifically made to make the game harder. I wanted to see what I could get through with just a single Duckett and a pulse blade, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. And you have to admit (or maybe you don't) that a pair of giant gatling guns on that skinny Kasuar frame looks totally badass.
I love how in-depth you are with all these mechs from the lore to the decals and paintjobs. INSANE effort. I'm curious if you'd ever do this stuff for the prior AC games as well? Awesome content!
