For me mecha have always been better as represented as aircraft in terms of combat function. Though I never liked the transformer version that one old anime did.
Never wouldve thought the sky box would be this high in this fight. Honestly makes me wish the Karman Line Coral overload was present here. Unlimited energy allowing a sky high, balls to the wall boost fest with Ibis wouldve been sick.
You can do this with coral generators . After phase one ends just assault boost up as high as you can until it catches up and then let the battle begin

Can we all appreciate the fact that the lake turning red looks amazing from so high up? Also, infinite flight in this fight is one of the things I absolutely didn't expect to be able to do, but this is awesome!
I think infinite airtime is not that hard to achieve actually, even without the new parts, or tetrapod legs in general. You just need one of the coral generators, and a weapon to give you "hangtime" so the generator can start recovering. For example, firing any grenade launcher or charged shot forces you to a standstill, but isn't using any thrust.
@@radiantfartcloud2041 sadly melee weapons dont acrually count for that. You are best off using something like the curtis or harris as they have a ludicrous amount of ammo

So I realize you went for the Ace Combat reference, but this actually gave me way more Sly Cooper vibes. The final boss fight against Clockwerk in the first game plays out very similarly: Sly on a jetpack, flying infinitely, and even Clockwerk falling into the boiling lava below but coming right back up for a phase 2. Hell, 1:15 the damn thing even LOOKS like Clockwerk!
The closest we can get to a high altitude fight with mechs maneuverability of jets. And I like it. Although, how did Snail not die while venting out his salty attitude on us?
Man, I really appreciate them giving the quad enjoyers a light variant but I am still wanting for more, tank leg variants as well as more blocky biped legs. Looking at this new frame being able to fly that high gives me hope for new parts updates.

I still prefer the reverse joints, but the Lammergeier legs are amazing. My favorite thing from the update has got to be the shoulder mounted gatling cannons, though. I finally have some high firepower on my lightweight Devil’s Reach
As much as I am astonished at sky limit as most, now that I think about it, it makes sense since this fight is part of a bigger map, which takes place on a *vastly* higher altitude than the lake. I guess it's too much trouble to move upper area limit around too much for these segments, so they went with it being high for the entire mission
Honestly, I kinda feel like the song "ADFX-10" would fit this fight. Maybe even something from Ace Combat 3 or Ace Combat X (especially given the futuristic nature of those games' music.)
Nice video! It was so cool to see this fight from a different vantage. One thing I would love to see AC 6 is some extensions that allow for a rapid ascent or descent to change altitude quickly.

This style of gameplay really reminded me of Another Century's Episode series, which coincidentally also developed by FromSoft in PS2 and PS3. It's also a mech game with a roster of mechas from different anime series, like gundam and macross. The gameplay let's you move (with boosting & quickboosting) almost infinitely on the air just like in this video

I like to exchange the energy blast backpack for the shield for a simple reason: it’s now a non-autonomous, non-PCA craft, legally different balteus. They have to break my pulse armor to inflict meaningful damage
Yknow I never considered the AC format and engine would do well with a pure air-mech combat gameplay... But considering Ibis's AI and attack patterns handled an airborne target like a champ...hell yeah. Give me Zero G Armored Core!
in 2017, i know someone who took home the plans to parts of one of the submarines currently being worked on at the groton general dynamics electric boat. he still works there to this day and they just shipeed him to washington state to work there, i wonder if he will steal plans there too...
