Glorious conclusion to the trip, what a beautiful day and such amazing scenery. Good points about solo travel and being prepared, and fantastic trail footage as always. Oh, plus the adorable smile from your daughter to cap off the video. Another terrific series!
It’s always nice to see a place you’ve been, through the eyes of another. I’ve come to really enjoy your vids. Thanks man.
Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for an excellent video! I appreciate the effort that goes into your videos. Heading for Capital Reef this coming weekend for the first time. Looking forward to camping and hiking.
Thanks! Enjoy Capital Reef it’s so beautiful.
This is on my bucket list for sure. My only trouble is I’m so far away. Thanks for sharing...
It’s an incredible trip! Where are you from?
Backroad Exploration We live in Ky. Started trecking to Co, Ut, Az, etc about12 yrs ago when I retired. We made 10 trips . Always in the fall, usually mid to late Sept. Usually 4,500 - 5,000 miles on out trip but always Hitting Moab and Ouray Co at some point for a couple of days each. 120,000 miles on our 2010 JKUR and traded for a 2018. Did a shorter trip in it to Moab in 2018. Didnt make it back last year as I have a 90 yr old mom to attend to and may not make it this year either. But the JL is ready now... Lifted and on 37’s....
Sounds like an awesome setup! Hopefully life will get a bit more back to normal and we can all get out on some more adventures!
Jared...We have been on this route a few times and just recently 10 days ago. On that trip the road, as you approach the "Temple of the Sun" and the "Temple of the Moon" coming from UT-24 via the Caineville Wash, was the road fairly deep with sand when you were there in 2019? We had to pull out a Toyota who had gotten stuck in the deep sand. The sand was much deeper than what we remembered. Also, thanks for posting these videos. We found you looking for video on "Pucker Pass" in Moab. We really enjoyed the winter video and the candid conversation on how you realized it wasn't the smartest thing to do...Thanks again and take care.
I’m not sure we pass that section based on the route we take. We come from Goblin Valley until factory Butte then turn towards Temple of the Moon. I think if we kept on that same route it would take us to 24. Either way I’ve never hit a spot where the sand was so deep you would get stuck. Some mudd in places but not that much sand. If coming from 24 the hill right after crossing the Fremont might cause some troubles. I’ve always done the crossing last so that hill is down hill. Thanks so much for watching.
@@BackroadExploration I watched your companion video of your trip from Goblin Valley to Cathedral Valley and the wide angle shot of the group approaching the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon shows the exact location of where we pulled the Toyota out of the sand. It appears to me that the road was relatively hard packed. I can only surmise (I am not a geologist) that with all the dry weather this past year and the amount of traffic on that road it just wore down the surface and created the very deep sand/silt conditions we experienced. Anyway, thanks for the reply and posting the videos of your off-road adventures.
That’s wild. I was thinking you meant earlier closer to 24 headed up towards the temples. It was very hard packed in that area. I’ve always done this trip in the spring so perhaps after the long dry hot summer it’s turns really soft. Something to be aware of! Very glad you were able to help pull them out.
@@BackroadExploration Here is a short video of the recovery of the Toyota ruclips.net/video/siWIAoLIsw8/видео.html
Wow! I have never seen this road like that. Amazing how much it can change from overtime.
Awesome 👏
Another fantastic video. Your voice over is like taking a self guided tour through the valley. Very cool. I tried a couple of trails in American Fork Canyon, Spanish Fork Canyon, and Springville Canyon the last few weekends. Unfortunately every trail was eventually blocked by impassible snow drifts near the tops. It would be really fun if my family could accompany your family and Mike on a fun off road day trip. My Chevy ZR2 w/ duramax has proven itself very capable on my very small adventures, but it would be nice to go with experienced off roaders like yourselves. Plus it could make for some fun content.
The early part of this video is what makes Utah roads so dangerous. You could drive a civic through 90% of that road, then come to a wet section and it's game over. It appears that even a little more wet than it was you guys wouldn't have been passing through that spot with the stuck tow truck either. Always go with maxtrax out there, and carry SPOT with you. BTW, well done on the video. Had a vibe of the early days of Expedition Overland's channel.
Another great video from you . I really enjoy your adventures that you go on . What part of Utah are you from ? We live in the north Ogden area . It would be awesome if we could do a trip sometime . Take care .
We live in Highland right by American Fork. I’d love to meet up for a trip sometime. Especially up in that area as I really have done very little North of Salt Lake off-road
Hey, would you mind sharing the exact route you took?
Shoot me an email and I’ll send you the track backroadexploration@gmail.com
Haha the guy that owns that tow truck has got his own RUclips channel he's got a couple of jeeps he uses to recover vehicles out of the desert check out his channel it's pretty good entertainment
Hazardbone No way that’s crazy! What’s his channel I want to check it out.
@@BackroadExploration his channel is called "Matt's towing and recovery " I stumbled across it the other day I'm pretty sure that's his tow truck I could be wrong but he's got two distinct jeeps
