    I heard a few people go to Capitol Reef and say "there isn't much there" because they only did the 8 mile paved road. It's a shame so many people miss the rest of the park, but I'm ok with keeping it that way 😆

      Totally agree! The best way to experience Capitol Reef involves getting off the beaten path. It's amazing how much the crowds thin out when getting to the good spots takes a bit of extra effort. Wouldn't have it any other way though!

    Wuhooo!! That’s my favorite national park. It really is the best scenic drive. I was amazed how breathtaking it was while driving. I had to stop a lot of times to enjoy the view.

      Yeah no doubt! It felt like we were stopping to look at the views every few miles!

    Very cool to see someone actually walking in the water to check the bottom before committing. Love that area. cheers

    Yeah, we get it ... calling this Utah's best scenic drive is a bold statement, considering this state is FULL of amazing scenic drives. But, after traveling all across Utah .... this was definitely the best scenic drive we encountered on our trip. But .... what do you think?

      That's awesome! A good insulated air mattress is worth it's weight in gold IMO

    Wow what a great video about a great place! Added to my must see list when we eventually make it out west. Keep those great videos coming ! If you think mountain house meals are good wait till you come to the south.

      Thanks so much!! Cathedral Valley is definitely worth making it on your list. As much as I like Mountain House, southern cooking is next level for sure. Aaaaand, now I want to try making Jumbalaya on the skottle 🤣

      Thank you! It's funny, I take all these photos and videos of all these places and then when I get home and look at them I'm always bummed because they NEVER do the scale of them justice! Haha.

      @@WheretoNextOverland For sure! We always dream of a more sophisticated/expensive lens, but nothing really substitutes being out there yourself

    Awesome video! But are you allowed to fly a drone in this part of the NP?

    • @WheretoNextOverland
      @WheretoNextOverland  Год назад +1

      The Cathedral Valley loop dips into and out of Capitol Reef National Park at various points. It's probably 70% national park land and 30% BLM land. National Park = no drones for sure. We flew in BLM land only.
      This is definitely a fair question, and I'm glad you brought it up. I figured that would need to be addressed at some point!

      Yeah, no doubt. It felt like we barely scratched the surface. That's definitely the downside of trying to cover so many miles is such a short period of time. But we'll be back that way again, for sure. It's INCREDIBLE.
