Thank you Cheryl for mentioning "mobility impaired" travelers. We are rarely ever mentioned in videos. Some of us do just fine driving but walking is tough and hiking, especially up hill, is out of the question. I carry telephoto lenses for my camera so it can reach out where I can't. I miss a lot of grand views by not being able to hike so I count on videos like yours to show me what I missed. Keep up the good work and great videos.
Matt so happy to hear you were able to quit your job and follow your dream full-time of providing us with wonderful videos and guides. If there is anyone out there on the fence about buying a guide and an audio it is an absolute must! You will not be sorry. Got me through Yellowstone and grand Tetons and the audios were just amazing.
guys, get their guides, are AWESOME!!!!!! we did Yellowstone it was PERFECT!!!! i dont have words to thank you guys, now we got Grand cAnyon, Zion, Bryce and Capital Reef, and we cant wait to see all of that :)
Thank you for explaining facts for Capitol Reef - I am heading there in October! You two gave the best information for my visit in October! I have now subscribed to your channel as I plan to go to more National Parks! I am definitely going to buy your planner!
Thanks for the video, lots of good info. We will be traveling west mid to late April. Stopping 6 nights in Moab, then 5 nights split between Capital Reef,Bryce, and Zion. unfortunately that's all the time we have for that portion of the trip as we are continuing to southern California then up the coast and Canada to Alaska . Cant wait for the trip to begin!
Denver is another alternative for flying in. Only about 5 1/2 hours to Moab, so not too much rather to capital reef. We have road tripped through southern Utah a few times but next year we are planning to do the big five plus GC north rim. Your videos have been so helpful-especially since we are traveling with kids.
A swingarm is the part of a motorcycle that the rear wheel and suspension attach to the frame. Swingarm City is a very popular area for dirt bikes. Love the videos, very informative.
Really enjoying all your videos on the Mighty 5. I'll be roadtripping thru Zion, Bryce, & Capital Reef this fall. Your videos are giving me the confidence to do this trip solo. Do you have any information on Teasdale? I'll be visiting Capital Reef for 2 days. Also taking the 12 is worth the extra time between Bryce & Capital Reef?
I love watching & learning from your videos! Your past videos helped us on our epic road trip to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Jackson, Idaho, Zion, Bryce, North & South Rim of Grand Canyon. Very excited I have reservations inside Zion and at the Fruita Campground!!! I do not understand why does the NPS for Capitol Reef have no info on all the hikes/Trails? I couldn't believe it. I got most of my info for Capitol Reef from you and several other RUclipsrs. Keep up the great job! How long will it take to drive from Bryce to Capitol Reef as I wanted to hike down into the hoodoos again to the Queens Garden to Navajo Loop, but don't want to arrive late /dark at Fruita Campground? Thanks for all the help your videos have been.
Thanks for the great info. We’re planning a 6 week trip and heading to Bryce, Arches, Grand Canyon & Yellowstone & places between. Now this one may be on our list to stop at for several hours. Really want to try those pies in Fruita. Your videos are really helpful & great to watch
Hi Matt, Thank you very much for the video. As always, it is very helpful. I have one question for you. We will be driving from Bryce to Capitol Reef(we will stay at Capitol Reef Resort). With your advice, we will take Interstate 12 to get there. We would like to stop and see the Long Canyon and Singing Canyon. How rough is the road from Road 12 to these places? We will be driving an SUV. Approximately how long will it take to get there? We have a very full schedule. (Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches & Canyonlands, Monument Valley, and North Rim). Thank you.
If you are interested in coming east to tour Washington DC and surrounding areas Matt will be leading a tour himself in October. He knows the area well and as a history major will have so much more info than you will find out on your own. To sign up please go to to his website. I did!
Thanks for all the information. I am learning a lot. We are going the first 2 weeks of March. I was wondering about the park fees. My wife has a lifetime pass for the disabled. Are the passes per car or person? Do I need to buy a pass?
Thank you very much for your Videos, I found it very informative. We are planning a Trip to the CRNP next year Sep 2024 and have a day to spend at the National park. Planning to Stay at Torrey and then visit the Valley of the Sun and Moon. What else do you suggest we see at the park before we head on to Salt Lake City? Many thanks.
We have some great free information on our website. It's a three day guide but you could pick which day sounds the most exciting and do that day, or you can pick and choose from amongst all the activities we suggest. It's only $19 and would be a great help in your planning: wereintherockies.com/capitol-reef-packages/
We are planning a trip out to see Mesa Verdi, Canyon of the Ancients, Howenweep, and Capital eef Nation part next make. Looks really interesting. We plan 1 day in CapitalReef, We plan on staying in Monticello. Memorial Day weekend in 2024.
@@WereintheRockies I just think it's important people know this as this video is super old and don't rely on it for informaiton based on today vs 2 years ago.
Trip to the west? How about the third of the country that live west of you? LOL I do enjoy the videos but always laugh at your assertion that you are the west.
Haha, you are correct that we are not the furthest west state but we are west of the Great Plains, which is generally referred to as western America. Thanks for watching. We appreciate it.
I’m about to go to Capitol Reef and this was a GREAT help! Mixed berry pie!
Enjoy!

Happy to help!
Thanks for making this video. I got more useful information from your briefing than any other Capital Reef video.
Glad it was helpful!

Note, If you do Denver, you will go over Eisenhour pass, and you can get snow in May or June.
So be careful. Lots of elevation gain

I'm sorry, we don't have info on Teasdale. Yes, I would take the 12!
There is not a gas stop on the scenic drive in Capitol Reef. www.nps.gov/care/planyourvisit/scenicdrive.htm

My daughter and grandkids just moved to Escalante. Middle of nowhere!! I'm driving from Oregon to there on Monday.
Enjoy your drive!

That's a great question but we're not sure on the answer. Thanks for watching.
Great info...do you know if their is a reputable ATV rental and which trail to do if only there 1.5 days ?
That's a great question. We've never ATV'd down there. I would do a google search for this info. Good luck.

The passes are good for the whole vehicle.

Would you recommend renting a satellite phone for emergencies?
Not a bad idea. Hadn’t thought about that!
How is the drive between the mighty 5 in a RV?
Many people drive RV's to do the mighty 5.
I was just at the Burr Trail Grill and the waitress said their baker retired this year so they no longer sell pies, unfortunately.
Oh no!
We are booked spring 2024. 4 nights at Fruita campground
Yay!
So far we have 68 days planned from central Fl Included is the GC and mighty 5
Do you guys have a rooster? 😅
😂 We tried going to Matt’s parents house to get away from our noisy kids, but we forgot about the rooster they have!
The scenic drive is all closed, no bikes, cars or even walking. This park was really a let down IMO as I was just there 2 weeks ago.
I'm sorry you didn't have a good time. Yes it's a bummer the scenic drive is under construction but we love the other areas of the park too.
