At my age I don't much believe in coincidences. You two in your sunflower yellow and sky blue tees? Wearing YOUR hearts on your sleeve, and warming MINE in the process.
Too funny! The kid filling the glass with water. Then giving a thumbs up as he climbs the stairs right behind Mom & Dad doing their video. Real family. 😁
Just did Bryce and Zion. Headed to the North Rim today. EVERYONE should get your audio and written guides as they have been invaluable in planning our trips. Last fall we used them at Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We did many of the hikes you recommemded in all four. Such great information and Matt is a great story teller, things we would not have known had we not bought the guides.
travelling from Canada on my motorcyle first of June and hitting the 3 parks, plus Monument Valley before going north again to the Dakotas, can't wait, great videos by the way
This. Is. Amazing. I'm just beginning to think about starting to plan a trip for our family (probably over a year away). I love your demeanor, your information (it covered every question I'd had starting out). I will definitely check out your other resources - I have a feeling this will be my most-used research tool for a trip like this. THANK YOU for all the hard work you put into these tools. Also - no one minds the background noise. :) Having your family around is the best.
Thanks to you both. We always follow you. Bought your Yellowstone Guide last year. Very helpful. We are actually in Bryce now. Did the Riggs Spring trail yesterday at the south end. Will take your advice on trails recommended in this video. Thanks again
This will be my families first vacation out West and I am so excited and was terrified. I stumbled across y'alls channel and I am so glad I did! I am feeling a little better after all of your tips. We are going to Grand Canyon and doing the Might Five. You all are so detailed and break it down so well. Thank you :)
I love watching your videos! You are the reason we hiked to Inspiration Point at Grand Teton. Interestingly, some guy fell quite a distance and we got to watch a helicopter rescue. However, it was one of our favorite experiences and I had a hard time leaving Lake Jenny. Keep going!
Love your videos. We're going to the parks this spring and this is really helpful. We live in Utah as well, so I'm guessing that's a Bryce-colored Minky blanket? :)
Thank you for your informative videos. We started planning our trip to Utah three months in advance and would not have been able to do this without your videos as well as the guides I purchased from you. Regarding Bryce Canyon, on the park website it is recommended to start the Queen's garden Navajo trail hike at Sunrise trailhead, but you suggested starting at Sunset trailhead and going Navajo to Queen's garden. What do you like best about hiking the trail in this order? Thanks
I love your videos. I am planning to head out there this year with my wife. Thanks for the tips. You both seem so genuine. Thanks again and keep up the great videos.
You guys are really good! Being from the east (WV) we make that same comment every time while in Utah, that any of these rock formations and places between the parks would be a major national park if in the east.
Thanks for sharing. I'm staying in the Zion area for 4 nights at the end of August and hoping I can see as much as I can. Your videos are a great help and will check out your guides. I'm from the east coast and have never been to that part of the west. I can't wait.
Very helpful video! I am visiting Bryce for the 1st time this October with my sis & brother-in-law who are RVing. We plan to make Glendale our staging area to visit Zion & GC North as well. I will stay at the Historic Smith B&B there, & my sis will camp at Bauer's RV. Do you know these places?
We just got back from Bryce 6/20/22, and ate at Ruby's Inn Cowboy Buffet and Steak Room and had the buffet and I have to say the Salmon was so good I went back for seconds. The other food on the buffet menu wasn't bad at all. The pot roast was a 7 out of 10.
Bryce Canyon has always been my favorite. I live in Nebraska now, but I was raised in Utah. I love watching your videos, it helps me get my Utah fix. 😀😍 PS my family settled Tropic...
Love your videos they have been so helpful in planning our big state side trip we have put aside 5 weeks for NP visits as we fly into San Diego we start with Joshua Tree, Bryce, Grand Escalante, Arches, Moab, Grand Teton ,Yellowstone , Glacier and and finish up in South Dakota before flying to Florida for some R&R time. Some of the NP will be a quick visit due to lodging at Grand Teton and Yellowstone . But your guides have helped clear the fog so to speak and will help us make the most our time

Cheryl, we are on a mighty five road trip right now, and I have been looking everywhere for your Mighty Five t-shirt! Where did you find it? Ps, thank you for talking about accessible hikes in each park. I think we’ve found them all!
We did the "Mighty Five" last fall just after Labor Day. We did Teton and Yellowstone first (from SLC), then drove to Moab via Price/Green River/UT128. We did Canyonlands and Arches before going to Monument Valley/Grand Canyon/Page AZ. We finished up with Zion, Bryce Canyon, UT 12 and Capitol Reef. I bought the blue "Utah Rocks" shirt at the Bryce Canyon gift shop. We were at Bryce on a Sunday, Sept 12 and it wasn't crowded at all. Grand Canyon is awesome b/c of its size, Bryce was the most mind-blowing!
Most helpfull info thank you so much!! However, I have an issue still unanswered RE Queen Garden-Navajo Loop: if you do the combination, you can't do the full Navajo Loop and you can't do the full loop you need to miss either on Wall Street OR Two Bridges+Thor Hammer OR Queen Garden altogether. So here is my question to you: is my assertion correct? Which one of the three items would you miss if need be? Or how about adding a detour out and back from Navajo Loop to Queen Victoria? Sure I could also make it two separate loops, Navajo Loop, then Sunset to Sunrise, then Queen Garden looping back via Horse Trail (it's open for pedestrians, right?) to Sunrise... and then drop something else because... time is never unlimited LOL.
That's a good question, if you do the Queen Garden-Navajo Loop, you will miss out on Wall-Street or Two Bridges+Thors Hammer. You could do the whole Navajo Loop and then backtrack down one half of the loop and then go over to the Queens Garden trail, which will take you back up to the rim.
Where is the best place to camp at Bryce Canyon. Last year we went to SD and rented a slingshot for needles highway. That was my favorite part of the trip. I wouldn’t have even known about the slingshot if I hadn’t found your channel
Ruby's Inn has an RV park and Campground. I would recommend staying here. It is right outside the entrance to Bryce Canyon, you can't get any closer than that. We're glad you loved renting the slingshot! Thanks for all the support.
Wanted to mention on another video but forgot... one of the things about winter visits to Bryce... I was there a couple weeks ago (May 2024) and drove there from Cedar City (do NOT stay at Motel 6) and had to go through a mountain pass that in May had lots of snow... and it had snowed recently... I would guess the drive in winter could be a bit sketchy
Great video!!! If you were to choose one place to do a horseback ride, would you choose Bryce Canyon, Zion, or the North Rim of Grand Canyon? I'm planning a trip that includes all three of those parks and want to include one horseback riding experience for the trip.
I think I would choose Bryce. There's nothing like getting down into the hoodoos. I loved my ride there. But that's only if you can do the one that goes into the canyon. See more here: wereintherockies.com/bryce-horseback-rides/. If you can't go into the canyon, I think Zion would be second best. Grand Canyon is great but you're just going along the rim, unless you do a mule ride into the canyon (2-days -- a totally different story). See more here wereintherockies.com/grand-canyon-mule-rides-our-review-what-you-need-to-know/
we are headed to the area to do a 14 day trip Las vegas to GC to ALBQ NM to Monument Valley to Page to Zion and to Bryce and back to Vegas. I agree it would be great to have a guide that includes alot of what is in between as I am searching and searching and it is hard work to find "correct" information out there about so much!!! I am nervous about the car ride and weather from the east entrance of GC over to Zion/Bryce area. Should I be? Heard some horror stories. I do not know what to expect. I never have been out there and will be there for so long (coming in October).
I would say the biggest concern would be vehicle problems because that area is so remote. Other than that, you should be fine. The nice thing is you won't be there in the heat of the summer. Have a great trip and best of luck.

Planning a family trip from Wisconsin, also with a family of 6, and got lucky to stumble upon your channel! Thanks for that! Was wondering if you planned on doing a Redwood Park trip anytime soon as that's the only spot we're going that you haven't covered. It's high elevation so the snow probably won't be melted. You'll need cleats for your shoes. Some trails will be closed, and the scenic drive may be closed.
Parking may get complicated between the hours of 9-4:00. Riding the shuttle is a great way to access the park and it's so easy to ride with very short lines.
