With its well executed concept, tight sequencing, and top-notch production from Animoss, Orpheus vs. the Sirens is probably the best album with which to introduce someone to the work of Ka.

Nothing Ka makes is underwhelming. Son is a genius.
The thing I hate about Fantano is how he downplays not only Ka, but also Roc Marciano and Mach Hommy. These are three of the best lyricists EVER and just because he doesn’t understand a lot of the songs or themes he dismisses them
This album is incredible. Can't stop listening. Super cinematic, super poignant and thought provoking. Love all of KA's music. His art and poetry are some of the best out there.

If DOOM was like twenty years older I swear he'd just be Ka. He's got this super laid back flow but it's full of complex internal rhyme schemes and sharp turns of words that would definitely have fit on something from MF's great middle period.

Easily one of my favorite Hip-Hop/Rap albums of the year. KA and ANiMOSS did such an incredible job!
Ka is folk music in a hip hop form! Totally unique flavour and u don’t always miss the kicks and snares

This album is so good, the transitions are so smooth I could barely tell when the songs changed
One of the main reason that I always listen to KA is because every song in all his albums is like listening to a father figure passing down some knowledge and to me that’s something no other rapper imo can do better. This album is definitely is going into my classic bin along with his other albums

orpheus is a person from greek mythology . I guess if you're an idiot the first thing you'd think of when you think "Orpheus" is Hannibal Burress but thats not what it was .Also the hannibal thing was morpheus not orpheus.

This has become one of my favorite hip hop albums of all time, definitely reminds me of my high school years
I love the album probably as much as Fantano does, but I don't think I'll ever understand thinking of Dr. Yen Lo as underwhelming. It is still one of my favourites of his, and probably beats his 1200 BC EP, Iron Works (which is his least interesting imo), Grief Pedigree and probably is roughly on par with Honor Killed the Samurai and the Night's Gambit. The instrumentals on Yen Lo are just so rough. Day 3, Day 777 and Day 1125 are absolutely fucking godly.

Great review. Not quite perfect, but as a conceptual album, it's top notch. Love Ka's music. Now you mentioned Roc Marci, but I don't think you have reviewed him before. Is it because they have a somewhat similar style/flow? Or maybe because his subject matter doesn't quite interest you like Ka's tales do? Either way, great vid.

Ka and DOOM are two sides of the same coin. While DOOM (preferably his Viktor Vaughan persona) is a kooky-esque villain, Ka is a more subdued, hard-boiled grimy brute. Better analogy: where as DOOM is a Marvel comic, Ka is Sin City. Love them both.
