    Yes, let the artist have artistic freedom, but that tattoo isn’t going on them it’s going on YOU! If you aren’t 100% happy, say something! If you’re paying such a big amount for something so permanent, don’t just let them put that on you out of fear of annoying them. A good artist will respect that you’re so choosy about what goes on your body. If a tattoo artist gets annoyed with you wanting a small detail changed then maybe you should see a different artist!

    • @shelbyharrington4873
      @shelbyharrington4873 5 лет назад +13

      Yes, you should chose a different artist. People chose an artist because they like their style and trust them to create a design that you will love. If your style doesn't match the artist, find someone else. An artist will know what will look best and last over time. It may be a small detail but male a big difference to how the piece will heal and look over time.

    • @BratvaTV
      @BratvaTV 5 лет назад +8

      Are you talking about #2? What they mean about not micro managing, or nit picky about details and making changes... is doing that AFTER the tattooer starts the tattoo. The reason they find that annoying is because all of that should have been discussed ahead of time and you shouldnt have given the go ahead unless you were happy with the design and were in agreement with what vision you had for it.

    • @emilyporter1186
      @emilyporter1186 4 года назад +1

      If you don't trust your artists work then you should get a different artist. A tattoo artist will also know how your tattoo will age and heal, and a lot of times, ppl's ideas simply won't work exactly as imagined due to the fact that skin as a medium is not like paper at all. If it's too small, it'll blow out and be hard to read, certain colors heal differently, etc.

      Well you can but to a certain extent. They mean like telling the artist what the lines should looke like. How they should color it rather than picking a color scheme. Telling them that it needs more highlights. Especially if you are not an artist because MOST of the time the artist knows what's best. If you did the research on the artist and know they have good work, trust their judgment.
      Something of that sort, not like placement and if you noticed the spelling was wrong.

    • @jord_e_96
      @jord_e_96 5 лет назад +14

      WickedlyDefiant the ink will look a little different after it heals so in the time of getting the tattoo you have to trust that the artist knows how to ink the skin in a way that it’ll look good after the healing process. i’ve seen many people get tattoos and it looks shitty when they first get it but once it heals it looks amazing, and vice vera. ofc you pick what you want and how you want it, but if you can’t trust your artist to that extent then you should either do more research on tattoos in general or find another artist to go to.

      The point he was making was to pick an artist that does work you love so you will not have to nitpick. Picking a random artist and expecting them to be amazing at whatever you want will not pay off for you or the artist. Look at portfolios and pick the artists work that looks closest to what you are wanting

    • @Alfred-F-Jones
      @Alfred-F-Jones 4 года назад +2

      The point of the second one is that you shouldn't be nitpicking the artist's process _after_ the design is agreed on and the tattoo is already started. If you're still figuring out design, then _yes,_ do nitpick! It's going on your body forever! But after you say yes to the design and they're already adding ink to your skin, you shouldn't be telling them how to do their own process.

This happens all the time. People come in and they love your work and what you do so much they don’t want anyone but you to do the tattoo even if it’s not even close to what your style is

      +x Frieza x His art and style is amazing but the problem with his work is that it just won't last more than 2 years. He has a huge ego acts like his single needle work is magical and heals just like any other tattoo, but they heal very poorly and either blowout until they're unrecognisable or fade in a matter of months. He's just really misleading plus his minimum is astronomical (something like $200 from memory)

      Zoltan Ember they have the right to pick what they want just like I have the right to choose which projects I would like to undertake. if we aren’t on the same page and collaboratively creating then there’s no reason to move forward with one another. And as an artist who’s been in the Industry for almost a decade . I can tell you from professional experience no artist likes to be controlled thats why we make art for a living to begin with . it’s better to come in with a general idea and be willing to let your artist interpret that idea to the best of their art capabilities to produce a quality tattoo. Also not all ideas that clients have are even viable projects due to composition complications, structure, or improper color theory. Essentially a client is not a professional and there has to be a balance of input on the tattoo between client and artist to produce quality work.. I hope that gives a more in depth view of what I meant.

    I plan on getting a couple tattoos. But the first one that I absolutely want first is a semi-colon on my left wrist. ❤️

    • @takahashiueda3332
      @takahashiueda3332 5 лет назад

      just dont. the wrist is 99% of the time visable. you should start somewhere where a tshirt is covering the tattoo up. shoulder upperarm - thats the place i started and it was the least painful. i have a small tattoo on my lower arm which is partly covered up when i stand normally but i still got some "problems" at work with it. so unless you have a job where you absolutely can wear tattoos you should avoid visable spots

    • @finn5437
      @finn5437 5 лет назад

      Kevin Fink I do work where tattoos are fine. And there is a serious reason why I plan to get the semi-colon. It’s a suicide awareness sign, and as someone who cuts and attempted suicide countless amounts of times, I want to get a semi-colon.

    I disagree with the second one, you're getting something permanent on your body, it's better to point out details and then be satisfied then just sitting there and let the artist tattoo on your body something that you don't even want. Also isn't it gonna be better for the artist when a customer will give clear instructions and then be happy and maybe even make a good advertisment then being quiet and bashing the artist afterwards because it didn't end up as he expected?
    And the girl is super annoying

      - Adéla - ok well they said don’t micro manage if you heard they also said you could point stuff after that you might want filled in ect.. but don’t hover over and tell them everything you can say stuff when it’s done they can go back and add more

    • @-adela-6994
      @-adela-6994 5 лет назад +2

      Svnflower Edits They can add more but they can’t remove anything. If I saw a tattoo artist doing something that I don’t like, I would say it before it’s too late. It’s your skin and you have all the rights to be picky

    It's bad enough to bring someone with you, but the worst is when they ask if their friend can hold their hand whilst they're getting tattooed, it's like no I don't want someone in my tattoo space I need to concentrate, and you're an adult getting a tattoo, not giving birth, you don't need someone holding your hand!

    I liked the video up until they said something I disagreed on. I disagree with (Don’t ask to copy someone else’s work). That’s how I was able find my tattoo idea. Finding two artworks online & putting those two art pieces together to create my tattoo idea. Something unique. It’s the customer/clients money & body so why would that be rude to ask the tattoo artist to create a tattoo idea that the customer is willing to get & willing to pay for? That just doesn’t make sense to me.

    It's funny how they say "dont drink and ink" but most reputable shops, as a rule, won't even tattoo you if you came in drunk. Which would most likely get you turned down and losing your deposit. Smdh.
