How much is a sleeve tattoo for mortal Kombat character about it when I get home from my birthday is on the way home from my parents house and wanting to get one is Skarlet or Ermac Character
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I would love any tips you can give me
“a lot of you seem to be very indecisive” “don’t sit at home overanalyzing” i felt like you were specifically calling me out a couple times in this video lol
Tattoo reflects who you are and how you feel at a certain point in time. Your taste changes as you grow older, for me they are the evolution of my life.
"Just let the artist do their thing!" This has always been my philosophy and I can tell you it's always worked out for me! I figure an artist that's free to express his/her vision is a happy artist, and they always seem much more into it and more prone to give you a brake on the price.
I needed to see this comment. Thank you for this. I'm gonna go speak with an artist in the next couple weeks nd this helped relax me about the whole thing.
yeah tell them in general what things you would have the tattoo containe and leave the artist in total freedom to design a piece, that way your piece will be unique for sure because a true artist does not design the same tattoo twice when he gets total freedom
@psychopunk1536 that's what I do. I tell my artist my general idea and I always say, express yourself and I trust you. It turns out so good. I told her I wanted a broken mirror and the piece she gave me was so beautiful. I know no one else has the same tattoo.
I find my taste changing. When I started getting tattooed at 18 or 19, I loved traditional patchwork. So I have my left arm as a traditional sleeve. And now I love more filled out sleeves with more gaps, so my right sleeve has zero gaps. And I’ve been told many times that the two play off/compliment each other. Moral of the story is just get what you like, and if you love it, others will also.
It’s true! The more tattoos I get, the more relaxed I am about them lol. I AGONIZED over my first teeny tattoo, the placement, the color, the size... everything was THE MOST IMPORTANT lolol. But after my chest piece (3rd tat) I became muuuuuch more relaxed and playful about it. Now its like, yeh I’ll figure it out, it’ll all be fine and look good and make me happy
I'm guessing that's true for most (it was for me i think). I often wonder how many people actually regret getting tattoos... surely people who have more than one or two view them in such a way that even an imperfect one (or downright silly or something related to tastes that then change) just doesn't carry the same kind of weight. But then someone who sees permanently marking their skin as a really serious decision is unlikely to get one in the first place, or only get something that is unlikely to cause regret later (like 'mom' or a memorial one). Exceptions are probably lovers' names (that's just always a bad idea imho), maybe political statements inked when someone is young and idealistic (or like a reformed neo-nazi's swastikas). Or, my favorite -- chinese characters that are later found to be completely wrong (*never* get one of those without triple-checking with native speakers, and n.b. that chinese doesn't have a goddamn *alphabet*, so you can't get your fucking *initials* written 'in chinese'. Just think about that for five seconds, it doesn't even make sense... and why write something in a random different language anyway?). But yeah, someone with a dozen tattoos, even if they aren't totally enamored of some, say, pacman-eating-a-ying-yang tattoo twenty years later, probably isn't going to spend much time actively regretting it, i'd think.
I was the opposite, my first few tattoos i didnt care about placement, but now years later im agonizing over what, how, where to add and fit together. And not waste any good space lol this is just me tho.
I got my first tattoo yesterday (I'm 33) that covers the entirety of my inner forearm. I waited a long time and 6 months on a wait list for the artist I wanted. It will eventually turn into a complete half sleeve. I love it and am glad I waited for what I wanted.
I got my first one at 29 and I've been tattooed several times since then. I'm 32 now. It's a good age to start. Any age is good as long as you are OK with doing it. I've always wanted tattoos but for one reason or another, I would never be fully sure about getting my first one. If you get your first tattoo at your 30s, then you are completely sure you really want that on your body because, at that age, you start giving 0 fucks about everything and yolo really gets its true meaning.
True, but most likely LONG enough that she/ other young, people born beautiful will (a) run out of body space (b) wake up one day and realize that less is more, and how incredibly beautiful and desirable a nice, untatted body actually is.
I really love how your neck piece brings out the color of your eyes! One of the best ways I've seen a tattoo complement one's beauty. I don't have any tattoos (yet?) but enjoy listening to your advice.
This made me feel so much better about my sleeve (in progress) bc all of the styles are different and it looks a bit messy but its fun and I love every individual tattoo that’s on my arm
dont ever forget that no matter what other ppl think about it, you have to love your tattoo's they dont... i got some tatts myself and in februari ill get my first 6hours sitdown for the first half of my lower arm sleeve but i really do not give any fuck about what anyone thinks about the shit i put on MY skin. i let it put there because i found the need for myself to put it there, ppl can judge the tattoo but nobody can judge the personal meaning behind the tattoo
Is it weird to tattoo everything besides your arms?? Because that's what I have. No one knows I'm tatted until BOOM surprise. And I don't talk about tattoos either lol
I don't think I will ever consider getting any kind of tattoo just because it's not something I would invest money in because I simply don't need/want them. BUT I still found this video to be extremely interesting, informative and it somehow made me feel very happy :) So thank you for that!
This is perfect!! I was under the impression that already having a shoulder tattoo and adding bits and pieces to it was not an ideal way to make a sleeve and was worrying about doing so. But knowing this is actually a common "patchwork" process I'm more confident about my consult and session in a couple of weeks. I only want a half sleeve but I'm so excited, thanks for the video!
I’m glad I stumbled upon this comment! 💖 I have one arm completely tattooed with flowers and I wanted to do my other arm just patchwork but I wasn’t sure if I was going to look weird but I’m glad other people think the same as me! Don’t feel left out
Ana-Maria I was thinking the same thing, but my first two tattoos (getting first one in a couple months) are probably going to work best in color and on separate forearms. I’m not sure if having both forearms in color and both upper arms in black and gray would work well.
I've got a patch work sleeve started. Nothing is planned, I just fill it up as I get ideas for tattoos. They're all rather different styles, but they're all exclusively tattooed in black ink which makes it look somewhat coherent anyway haha. Last time I got tattooed my artist asked if he could place it close to another piece so it wouldn't leave any weird gaps.
Since I wrote this comment I've gotten a few new tattoos on my arm. And now my lower arm and upper arm looks strangely divided?? Definitely have annoying gaps on my elbow and ditch that need to be filled.
The first tattoo I got was a large upper thigh piece that wraps around to the side and goes up my hip. Certainly ambitious for a first piece. People thought I was insane for letting the artist have complete creative freedom in terms of the entire design, given it was also my first. But I considered the artist for a year. And the placement for also a year. I loved his style and work. And so when I initially contacted him and showed references and said general ideas of what I wanted and liked, I trusted him. I initially wanted the placement on the front of my thigh. But he suggested it wrap a bit to the side and also travel up the hip a bit so it was more interesting visually and “flowed”. And since I knew I just wanted basically an animal skull and flowers, I figured since he’s amazing with nature themes that I’d let him do his own thing. It turned out to be a really strong piece! So I totally agree that it’s great to have general ideas or elements that you want, but if you enjoy the artists work overall, then to definitely trust them and also be open minded to their suggestions since they are the professionals.
I started with a half sleeve. Asked my artist how easy it would be for him to transition into a full sleeve if I wanted to, and he told me that it would be no problem for him at all. So if/when I decide to continue to a full sleeve then I will be alright.
These videos are so great to have as a future reference. I've wanted tattoos since I was probably around 10 years old and as I'm 17 right now it's really nice to have these videos so that I can be as prepared as possible when I finally turn 18. These are the exact things I'm stressing about, especially the one where I feel like I have to plan out every single detail in the tattoos for them to look exactly as I want them, even though I myself isn't too sure about what exactly it is that I want. Great video! I'll keep this in mind!
Because of your tattoos, i found out that my tattoo style is neo traditional so THANK U SO MUCHT FOR THIS!!!! I love love love love your videos and ur attitude! Greets from Austria ❤️
I think I was a bit TOO relaxed when it comes to tattoos and now I actually really regret it. I trusted this one tattoo artist's opinion to the point of not trusting my own opinion anymore. So I ended up with a big black tattoo with terrible placement that I am really embarrassed of. And it's bigger than I initially wanted as well, I feel like many tattoo artists try to push you to get it bigger. Which does make sense sometimes, but I think it's important to prioritise the client's wishes and maybe find another solution or just be honest and refuse to do it (without being bitter or making them feel guilty). Especially if a certain size was already agreed upon before the artist actually drew it. It's not very ethical to try and convince your client that it will look great when they're having doubts, because some people are naive enough to believe it in the moment, not realising that they might regret it later. I'm definitely one of these impulsive susceptible people and now I'm trying to be more conscious about it. When this tattoo artist later asked me if I was interested in another appointment for his next guest spot (because he was having trouble finding clients) I told him about this. I didn't want to make him feel bad, but I thought it was important to be honest. He just blocked me. So I definitely learned some very important lessons regarding getting tattooed, pricey pricey lessons! This whole experience really put me off getting tattooed for a while. But in the end I still do love tattoos very much, so I know will get more in due time. Now I'm just trying to save up money to get this lasered off of me!
I did the same. I gave the guy an idea and a few references that weren't tattoos so he could incorporate his own style and later realized, he has no style. He asked my budget and later showed me a stencil that was more than twice my budget. Im getting it touched up because its ok, but its overall way bigger than I ever wanted (its a woman and I have to wear short shorts for you to see her face, I literally just wanted something mid-thigh). I cried for a week after I got it. They say trust the artist, I think people need to trust their gut before trusting an artist. I paid for it even though it was twice my budget and expected him to take time on it and for it to be beautiful, but he took the same amount of time as he would have had I given him another stencil. He wanted me out when the shop closed and just wanted more money.
@@CovertCrow That is so sad :( it does sound a lot like my experience. The worst thing is that I really want it gone now and laser treatment is extremely expensive. I agree that people should trust their gut before their artist!
You made me feel SOOO much better about planning my patchwork sleeve thank you!!! I've wanted to do different styles for a long time but was worried about how it would look. Yours is obviously beautiful and I'm so relieved ❤️
I think your attitude towards tattoos being relaxed is a WONDERFUL thing! So many people are way too serious about it. You covered everything, and as always, you were very knowledgeable about it all. Much love! 🖤
You're videos were the first tattoo videos that I ever watched and I'm so glad that you're making more of them!! You've definitely influenced my way of thinking about tattoos. If it wasn't for you, I would've probably regretted or not liked my tattoos as much. ❤️❤️keep it up!!
This was super helpful. I've had so many different tattoos that I've wanted to get for so long, but always thought to look good they had to work together in one piece of art. Looking at how awesome your sleeves are and hearing you talk about them made me realize I can just get them individually and still get a sick looking sleeve. Helped ease a lot of anxiety about getting everything perfect :)
Wow, I have a couple tattoos now and felt a lot of self-imposed pressure to make sure certain ideas I had were "perfect" for my next tattoo. But after watching this I've like done a 180 on my plans and feel so much better about it. So helpful! Thank you for this!
I'd be traumatized after such a long episode of pain 😂 got my first big tattoo started a month ago and finished 3 days ago, 11 hours in total and i think it's enough for the next 2 months but yeah as i said: it was my first one
Thank you for this video, I am starting a sleeve with a tattoo artist and I was starting to worry that I was doing it a little bit to "carelessly", like, "im just getting what I wanna get", after 11 smaller tattoos all over my body (and a lot of random tbh). So what you said about planning the sleeve reassured me, since it's how it's going on for me and my artist, but also, about the way to "care" about it. I'm like "whatever, it's gonna be beautiful anyway" because I just love the artist I'm seeing and well, I feel like the rest is secondary x)
My left arm has 5 tattoos from 4 different artists (so far). Couple more traditional looking, couple more neo-trad looking. It’s going to my “random fun shit” sleeve the way it’s going. I think I’ll keep my right arm for a more thought out, cohesive sleeve.
Curtis Engel that's what I plan to do as well. Heaps of different things that definitely have pretty much nothing to do with each other as a patchwork sleeve on my left arm and then my right arm is going to be a more planned out sleeve. I'm thinking either neo-trad or chinese
As a broke college student I'm thinking of doing a nature sleeve, maybe both who knows. So this is helpful! I do prefer the look of patchwork sleeves. They look the best in my opinion because there's so much versatility
“Like a butt plug” 😂😂😂😂 I actually love that you said this! (Obviously, I also appreciate your & your tattoo artists’ advice, so thank you)! 🖤✨ Also, I’m much like you with tattoos. I literally don’t care about styles or any of that stuff. I just want what I have envisioned, and for an artist to help me figure out how to make it look good. It’s funny to me that many people who want their first or second or third tattoo are indecisive. I was talked out of four designs before I got my first (and currently only) tattoo, and the one I ended up drawing the line on was still one that she absolutely did not want to do (purely for lack of faith that I wouldn’t move during the process). In the end it’s really about what you want. There’s no need to overanalyze. If you want four things and they’re all opposite from each other, who cares? They’re important to you, so just do it. 🖤✨ (I literally want like four tattoos inspired by lyrics from four different songs written by the same band, so 🤷🏻♀️😂).
Thank you so much for all the good advice! I have been considering actually getting a sleeve but I wasnt sure how much planning I would have to do and now i see i could just do it like a patchwork. Thanks again and also big big big compliments on your tattoos they look stunning!
I love sailor jerry tattoos and all of my ink is "old school". But I've seen detailed tattoos over years and they always look like shit unless they're touched up a lot. But i see old timers with old school tats and they still look awesome without being touched for forty years.
I'm happy to hear that individuals understand that it's not wrong to think of self first. True you wouldn't be capable of helping others without thinking of self.
Always love your videos and living vicariously as someone who's too scared to get a full sleeve.... but also YOUR MAKEUP LOOKS SO GOOD (always does but 🤷🏻♀️). LIVING FOR THIS EYE SHADOW LOOK RN.
I came across this a while after you posted it; my sleeve is actually the patchwork style, but I spoke with my tattoo artist and he and I are planning on filling in my arms over time. He's done all my work for the past 10 years so I will constantly go back to him. We're gonna be tying them all together.
Personally as a person who loves art and tattoos, I've been wanting almost every single style there is somewhere on my body as I love most the tattoo styles that exist!
I like the "patchwork" design a lot, and I also like the idea of mixing different types of styles. I only have one tattoo so far but when I have the money for another one, a big one, I want to work with the artist and have them hopefully draw me something beautiful to cover up the scars on my arm. I am a little worried though because I have kind of a lot of hair on my arms, dark blond hair, and I'm not into shaving them. I know I would have to shave them for the tattoo but would it become a problem once it has healed? Maybe personal question so you don't have to answer, but do you shave your arms so that your tattoos show up better??
I have a tattoo on my thigh that's just black line work and the hairs there are really not noticeable against the tattoo, i think it would be the same for your arms too
Morgan Ronan you can wax your arms , your hair will gradually grow back thinner and slower if your up for it .I wax and I find it's so much better than having to shave and have uneven areas because i hate shaving lol
I have darker blonde hair on my arm and I don’t shave my arms but I do use clippers to shorten the hair. It makes the color stand out and look much fresher. I just put a 1 1/2 guard on the clippers and I feel that does really well for me personally.
Thank you for the last point! I got many blackwork/fineline Tattoos on my sleeve because that was the original plan. Now 2 years later when I started to connect my patchwork style, I got 2 very colorful neotraditional Peonies inbetween my blackwork Tattoos and I felt like „is this even ok for the Tattoo Universe to continue my fillers with colorful flowers?“ and YES it is! I am in love with my mixed sleeve and everyone who wasn‘t sure about the idea is in love with it too! (:
I’ve been trying to plan out my sleeve for a while and this video has been more helpful than any other to help me understand all the different things I need to consider. Thanks!
Very informative video, thank you for explaining it all. And I find your relaxed stance refreshing, many people just talk about don'ts and they make me nervous about getting ANY tattoo, which is not a way to go.
Your relaxed mentality gave me reassurance because I feel the same way deep down! I think people worry way too much about making sure the tattoo is significant. But it's okay to get a tattoo just because you love looking at it!
That's literally what I've been doing. Right arm has a theme and left arm is patch work. 12 sessions so far on my arms alone lol. I'm also 6'3 and a broad guy so my arms have a lot of canvas
Great video. Thanks for the tip, especially since I started over analyzing my sleeve. Finally, I consulted with my tattoo artist and showed him what I wanted and let him do his thing.
This makes me feel better about my mixed leg sleeve! Some realism, some trash polka and some trad blackwork but I love each bit and each style! I love your attitude! You’re fab!!
i love the way you think about tattoos!! everyone deserves to have fun with their body and this was a great way of explaining different styles without making it feel stressful or elitist
I want so bad to get tattooed but no money no honey!! So im watching every tattoo video that there is on youtube just to be more mature when im finally getting one!!! Havent see you with so much make up in a long time but once again very beutiful
This helped me out a lot. I'm giving my artist a bad time with my indecisiveness and pickiness instead of just letting him create the tattoo from my theme.
These videos really get me pumped and inspired for my tattoo plans (building my half sleeve currently). I've got most of the designs I want I think, I'm just prioritising designs because space is obviously limited and they need to fit around my existing ones. Thanks for this video, Kat!
This makes me feel so much better about my sleeve because I felt like there was no point in starting it if I have no clue what to do for the rest but now I'm just going to go for it
Thank you for this video, Katrin! I chose the patchwork style of sleeve for my right arm, as I wanted to get different pieces as my life changed. I knew when I moved cross country (from Wichita Kansas to Seattle Washington) that my life would definitely change dramatically, and in beautiful ways. I keep finding talented artists, and getting something different from each of them. I have different pieces I’m going back to the same artist for, & I like having different styles.
My favourite tattoo I have seen someone with is a tattoo showing the same character in various art styles. And it works so well. So I am thinking of getting a mixed style tattoo myself sometime.
Soooo. I first went to get my tattoo on Valentine’s Day 2016. I went in 2 sessions and have my lower arm mostly done. Well literally a month after I spent my money and started this project I got in a terrible accident. I’m just now back on my feet no longer struggling to make ends meet. But it’s literally been 2+ years and I still have outlines of trees and have half an owls face missing. Is it too late? Was I being rude? Also my tattoo artist was really kind of a pain to work with scheduling wise. So much so that in one occasion I had made an appointment at 5:30 and he never showed. It got to 8 and I was still waiting. The owner of the shop felt so bad he gave me a free piercing. My question is should I consider going to a different artist to finish my tattoo?
Thank you for defending the mixed-style sleeves! I have a lot of video game-related ideas and each game has it's own mood and style. Some are cartoonish, some are serious. I also follow a bazillion tattoo artists who have different, but equally awesome styles and I want their work on my skin anyway. So I just try to figure out who should tattoo what and where on my skin.
What if I draw and I want some of my drawings on me, but I am afraid that tattoo artist will think that I am trying to steal anyone’s tattoo or it will be offensive using my artwork and not his?
Ekaterina Nikiforova if you find the right artist, more than anything they will appreciate it! i have several tattoos that are my own drawings and they make for not only great conversation styles but something to be proud of as it’s your own art.
it depends on how the drawing looks , if you find someone who dont care maybe they tattoo your drawing . but you dont look up a well known artist and say i want my drawing i bet 99 of 100 times they say no . maybe use you ideas but you wont get your own drawing
Half of my tattoos are my own drawings, in my experience the artist will ket you know what is tattooable and what is not. And then they take time to re draw the piece with their own spin on it, or in a more clean way. But dont be afraid to say if you like the new idea or not. When i was 19 i had drawn an extremely detailed piece that i wanted mirrored, one on each side of my ribs. He let me know it was too complicated to tattoo so he made a more simple design. It wasnt until after i realized the design went from, out of this world bio mech, to tribal.....he over simplified it imo lol but i was too scared to say no since he had spent a lot of time on it. Also take your piece to different artist, what some are not comfortable with doing, others will be. Its your art, your body, your money, take your time and dont let anyone talk you out of what you want.
Oooh, is that the dress you bought for the wedding?! 😊 Question: you mentioned you “had” to fill the gaps between your GoT tattoos - what do you think of arm tattoos that aren’t connected? Just asking because I think your tattoos already look awesome the way they are! I’m super stoked to see how you end up filling the gaps though (especially the buttplug shaped one haha 🤣). Ps: I love your relaxed attitude towards tattoo styles - totally agree that mixing isn’t “wrong”, it’s personal preference ✌🏻
You definitely don't have to fill the gaps at all! But if you want it to turn into a sleeve that's usually what you do, and that's what I want for mine! :)
Katrin Berndt Hi if i want to get a full sleeves Tattoos on my whole arm is it possible if the tattoo artist could not cover my two small Tattoos i have on the front & back of my wrist ? Thank you so much for your tips & help.
Great vid Katrin!!! Big thumbs up! I’m almost finished my own sleeve and I’ve learned so much over the process. Particularly LET THE ARTIST DO THEIR THING! A lot of people don’t know this going into appointments and projects it seems, good job including that! As well as trusting your artist but always speak up too :)
One of my tattoos I got donde when I was 18 now blocks the best spot on my arm regarding my realistic nature themed sleeve. I hate the spot and how it ruins such a good area to pit something. It's solid black and it probably can't be covered up evem tho it's just lettering. I guess I'd have to live with the regret of gettimg ot for the rest of my life. It bothers the shit out of me since it's directly on my inner forearm so I have to look it at and people constannlt get noticed of it. I like the tattoo itself it's really just the placement. THINK BEFORE YOU ACT GUYS!
Thank you! I loved your view on this topic! I like patchwork sleeves and even though i like fillers, i also really like the negative space that remains between pieces (i love that weird shape you have over the lantern on your arm). I tend to overanalyze everything and when it comes to my sleeve I know some of the pieces I want to get, but over stress thinking where to put each of them! Your point of view of “trust the experts. It will work out in the end” was what I needed to hear. Also, I love longer videos from you. Hope you have a great weekend!
Wow i needed to see this video, ive been wanting full sleeves for a long time, i was planning on my left arm being black and white with very minimal color and my right arm being full color and having a back peice done to bring both arms together like one giant tattoo, ive been planning every element of my sleeves but seeing this made me stop and think i need to trust the artist to bring in the elements of what has made me me
I love your attitude towards tattoos. Some people are just so uptight and pretentious about it. Tattoos are art and art is self expression so there are no rules!
I love you and your channel! I’ve been following you a long-while, now and I just think you’re so cool. I know that may sound silly to some, but when you’ve got “it”, you’ve just got it and, you do! 🌬💨🖤♠️
I really like what you said at the end. It doesn't matter if you get multiple styles. A good artist will make your tattoo harmonize with others. I personally stuck with black and grey, blackwork, dark script. If a limb piece is made up of different styles thats what makes your sleeve unique.
A tattoo is a personal choice. At the end of the day, it's your skin that will get branded, and you'll have to live with it for the rest of your life. If you want mixed art styles, then go ahead! Tattoos are a celebration of one's creativity, individuality, and life. Do what you wanna do! Love your videos! Got a new sub from me. Hope you feel better!
I’m really glad you made this video. My tattoo artist, while I love him he is very worried that he won’t do well in tying my whole entire sleeve together so he’s just being indecisive. I have a lot of traditional and steam punk style tattoos and they’re relatively the same type of style.
I’ve definitely been worrying way too much about placement and how to combine different themes in my first sleeve so thank you for the reassurance and encouragement! I feel like I’m a lot closer to finally starting now :)

well luckely a man normally is born with 2 arms... you see my point don't choose 1 out of 2, be a man and just take both ;-)
If I end up with a sleeve I want it to be the patchwork, full of tattoos that represent things that are important to me.

How is a sleeve on the legs called? A pants? Idrk..
Hahah leg sleeve usually, but pant leg would make more sense. ^^
I heard someone call it a «sock»..
If someone said they had a "sock" I would assume it was only on the lower leg and foot lol.
Blueyez369 Me too lol
omg this made me laugh so much! somebody pleeaase start a petition to call it a "pants" from now on :D
I only have one but im pretty relaxed too
"What is that mess. But that's their problem and not mine." Probably my favorite thing you've ever said.
Molly Godlewski "Like a buttplug." Has to be a close second though!
Kevin McFarland 😂😂 yes
I got my first tattoo yesterday (I'm 33) that covers the entirety of my inner forearm. I waited a long time and 6 months on a wait list for the artist I wanted. It will eventually turn into a complete half sleeve. I love it and am glad I waited for what I wanted.
Congrats on your midlife crisis!
O C I've always known I wanted them. Just had to save up the money to get exactly what I wanted.
Hahahahahahahaha, been inked since I was 17 and still doing it, joining the craze eh? Lol
I got my first tattoo when I was 16. I'm 31 now and looking to get my 2nd. I honestly forgot if it hurts or not it's been so long Haha
I love attitude and tattoos. Life is too short to worry too much about what other people think(as long as it doesn't endanger oneself)
Life's actually quite long when you average lifespan is 70 years...
This helped SO MUCH!!!! I don’t feel so damn stressed about continuing my sleeve now!
This made me feel so much better about my sleeve (in progress) bc all of the styles are different and it looks a bit messy but its fun and I love every individual tattoo that’s on my arm
Saaame my arm is such a mess and don't know how to make it make sense
But also love every Single pieeece
dont ever forget that no matter what other ppl think about it, you have to love your tattoo's they dont... i got some tatts myself and in februari ill get my first 6hours sitdown for the first half of my lower arm sleeve but i really do not give any fuck about what anyone thinks about the shit i put on MY skin. i let it put there because i found the need for myself to put it there, ppl can judge the tattoo but nobody can judge the personal meaning behind the tattoo
Is it weird to tattoo everything besides your arms?? Because that's what I have. No one knows I'm tatted until BOOM surprise. And I don't talk about tattoos either lol
Nothing is weird haha!
That’s what I wanted to do I thought it would be badass but I can’t help showing it off so I’m gonna do my shoulder and upper arm
Your a fucking man doing it right
Have you seen
Kevin Durant? Lol
That seems like a good idea actually. Like all those normies talking to you like you dont evsn know what a tattoo is and then bam, tattoos everywhere
I don't think I will ever consider getting any kind of tattoo just because it's not something I would invest money in because I simply don't need/want them. BUT I still found this video to be extremely interesting, informative and it somehow made me feel very happy :) So thank you for that!
ri bohe xhfkhflduhddpmfhf👍
nobody needs tattoos
Dont ever get any. I regret the 4 that i have. Everyone thinks it's a good idea until you wake up and realise oh shit this is permanent.
Snowcone 95x pretty sure most people understand and accept the concept of them being permanent except you
@@bl9038 it's bedtime boy. Go sleep. RUclips for grownups kid.
Well, I personally have two arms so I think I'm gonna do one arm patchwork and the other one as one piece!
i am working on the same thing as well :)
I wanna get only colour tattoos on one arm and only black&grey on the other (doesn’t have anything to do with what you said, I just felt like sharing)
Like the anime?
Emilia Bergström same. I started a book themed sleeve. One is photo realism the other is traditional. Not sure what to get next but it's all good.
Since I wrote this comment I've gotten a few new tattoos on my arm. And now my lower arm and upper arm looks strangely divided?? Definitely have annoying gaps on my elbow and ditch that need to be filled.
@@TheSuperSonicStar would a mandala fill it and make it look cool? I'm obsessed with those now
Not really, it wouldn't fit to be symmetrical over my elbow.
@@TheSuperSonicStar kind of late but by black would you count grey? do u jus mean black and white or is there grey?
You chould do chain maille as a filler in your game of thrones sleeve
Using cookies as fillers in a nature sleeve 😂 I love this and can’t get this image out of my head 😂
I started with a half sleeve. Asked my artist how easy it would be for him to transition into a full sleeve if I wanted to, and he told me that it would be no problem for him at all. So if/when I decide to continue to a full sleeve then I will be alright.
I don't even want a full sleeve but this video is really great, nice tips and so many good examples etc.!
+Stig Lauren chill pal, she was just finding out what tattoo fits best for her. no judging needed👍🏻
What is your tattoo? And where is located? Im trying to understanding you
Tobe Montilla he probably got a penis on his forehead and now he regrets it
@@gu3sswh075 i this its she*
I did the same.
Much love! 🖤
I really have to say that I looove your makeup. I don't what is it, but it looks so good. I love how it makes your eyes pop even more 😍
You're videos were the first tattoo videos that I ever watched and I'm so glad that you're making more of them!! You've definitely influenced my way of thinking about tattoos. If it wasn't for you, I would've probably regretted or not liked my tattoos as much. ❤️❤️keep it up!!
OMG! If that dress is the one you are going to wear in the wedding, IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! 😍😍😍 I'm sure it perfectly suits you!!
Love your tattoo videos! This was the exact kind of stuff I needed to see so I can finish my sleeve!
Wow, I have a couple tattoos now and felt a lot of self-imposed pressure to make sure certain ideas I had were "perfect" for my next tattoo. But after watching this I've like done a 180 on my plans and feel so much better about it. So helpful! Thank you for this!
I did my full sleeve in 4 days in a row. Took 34 hours.
HauntedOath sounds awesome!
I'd be traumatized after such a long episode of pain 😂 got my first big tattoo started a month ago and finished 3 days ago, 11 hours in total and i think it's enough for the next 2 months but yeah as i said: it was my first one
Natalie Holz congrats!
You're crazy bro haha, just reading it my arm hurts
HauntedOath - you tattooed yourself? Impressive!
Also, I’m much like you with tattoos. 🖤✨ (I literally want like four tattoos inspired by lyrics from four different songs written by the same band, so 🤷🏻♀️😂).
so naughty lol
You helped me clear my mind with all that style mixing doubts and everything, thank you so much!! Keep it up!!
I don’t shave them no. But my hair is very fair so it has never crossed my mind. However i don’t think hair over tattoos looks weird regardless! :)
Its ok, I did my chest and had my chest hair shaved. It grew when It was healing, and its ok, no problem at all.
Probably the absolute best sleeve tattoo advice video on youtube. Many thanks!
The prettiest tattooed girl i’ve ever seen!
looks better without , just one person's opinion, her beauty is enough,
No one asked for your opinion lol
Thank you for the last point! I got many blackwork/fineline Tattoos on my sleeve because that was the original plan. Now 2 years later when I started to connect my patchwork style, I got 2 very colorful neotraditional Peonies inbetween my blackwork Tattoos and I felt like „is this even ok for the Tattoo Universe to continue my fillers with colorful flowers?“ and YES it is! I am in love with my mixed sleeve and everyone who wasn‘t sure about the idea is in love with it too! (:
yes yes yes thank you, i've been so confused about how to go about getting my sleeves when i have the money i've been waiting for this video
Hope you found it helpful!!
I’ve been trying to plan out my sleeve for a while and this video has been more helpful than any other to help me understand all the different things I need to consider. Thanks!
You're so pretty and I love all your videos!! They're all so real and I can tell that you really put your heart into all of them!!♥️
Very informative video, thank you for explaining it all. And I find your relaxed stance refreshing, many people just talk about don'ts and they make me nervous about getting ANY tattoo, which is not a way to go.
yeeees more tattoos videos please!!
Your relaxed mentality gave me reassurance because I feel the same way deep down! I think people worry way too much about making sure the tattoo is significant. But it's okay to get a tattoo just because you love looking at it!
I got two arms, got one thats got a few which is becoming a patchwork sleeve. The other im saving for a themed sleeve ^^
Alice Gale the ultimate indecisive move. Couldn't decide if you wanted patchwork or theme more so getting one of each. 😂😂
I think I want to do that as well!
That's literally what I've been doing. Right arm has a theme and left arm is patch work. 12 sessions so far on my arms alone lol. I'm also 6'3 and a broad guy so my arms have a lot of canvas
Alice Gale haha i was thinking about doing this!!!
Great video. Thanks for the tip, especially since I started over analyzing my sleeve. Finally, I consulted with my tattoo artist and showed him what I wanted and let him do his thing.
yes i've been waiting for this vid all day
This makes me feel better about my mixed leg sleeve!

Your makeup is flawless in every video. You're really pretty!
This helped me out a lot. I'm giving my artist a bad time with my indecisiveness and pickiness instead of just letting him create the tattoo from my theme.
I just love to watch your tattoo videos! And your make-up for this video is soooo dope!
These videos really get me pumped and inspired for my tattoo plans (building my half sleeve currently). I've got most of the designs I want I think, I'm just prioritising designs because space is obviously limited and they need to fit around my existing ones. Thanks for this video, Kat!
That portrait on your left arm is gorgeous
This makes me feel so much better about my sleeve because I felt like there was no point in starting it if I have no clue what to do for the rest but now I'm just going to go for it
Wow I just wanted to comment something real quick n then I saw the pinned comment and now I forgot what I wanted to say lmfaoo 😂😂
Valeria Siebert Haha me too 😅
I'm really trying hard to remember 😂
Thank you for this video, Katrin! I chose the patchwork style of sleeve for my right arm, as I wanted to get different pieces as my life changed. I knew when I moved cross country (from Wichita Kansas to Seattle Washington) that my life would definitely change dramatically, and in beautiful ways. I keep finding talented artists, and getting something different from each of them. I have different pieces I’m going back to the same artist for, & I like having different styles.
Your makeup is so beautiful and well blended 😍
I brought my own drawing to my tattoo artist and had no issues. I gave him the option to improve it, and so he did :)
it depends on how the drawing looks , if you find someone who dont care maybe they tattoo your drawing . but you dont look up a well known artist and say i want my drawing i bet 99 of 100 times they say no . maybe use you ideas but you wont get your own drawing
Stumbled upon your page. Great advice and hilarious! With 20 tattoos, and several realistic GOT characters, I’m hooked on your channel!
Oooh, is that the dress you bought for the wedding?! 😊
Question: you mentioned you “had” to fill the gaps between your GoT tattoos - what do you think of arm tattoos that aren’t connected? Just asking because I think your tattoos already look awesome the way they are! I’m super stoked to see how you end up filling the gaps though (especially the buttplug shaped one haha 🤣).
Ps: I love your relaxed attitude towards tattoo styles - totally agree that mixing isn’t “wrong”, it’s personal preference ✌🏻
You definitely don't have to fill the gaps at all! But if you want it to turn into a sleeve that's usually what you do, and that's what I want for mine! :)
Katrin Berndt would you do sacred geometry
As a filler
Katrin Berndt Hi if i want to get a full sleeves Tattoos on my whole arm is it possible if the tattoo artist could not cover my two small Tattoos i have on the front & back of my wrist ? Thank you so much for your tips & help.
Shins! Shins!
Can you just put something around it? Like incorporate it to make it part of the whole thing
Honestly I've wanted a sleeve tatto since I was 10years old😂 still have to wait until November before I can get started tho
Tatjana '-' same about having to wait till November
Wow i needed to see this video, ive been wanting full sleeves for a long time, i was planning on my left arm being black and white with very minimal color and my right arm being full color and having a back peice done to bring both arms together like one giant tattoo, ive been planning every element of my sleeves but seeing this made me stop and think i need to trust the artist to bring in the elements of what has made me me
Absolutely love your tattoo videos
I love your attitude towards tattoos. Some people are just so uptight and pretentious about it. Tattoos are art and art is self expression so there are no rules!
I love you and your channel! I’ve been following you a long-while, now and I just think you’re so cool. I know that may sound silly to some, but when you’ve got “it”, you’ve just got it and, you do! 🌬💨🖤♠️
I really like what you said at the end. It doesn't matter if you get multiple styles. A good artist will make your tattoo harmonize with others. I personally stuck with black and grey, blackwork, dark script. If a limb piece is made up of different styles thats what makes your sleeve unique.
you can add more GoT gods or religious symbols in the missing spaces, like the Red God or the Weirwood trees
The whole time I thought you were a tattoo artist! xD
I love your view on this!! I’m definitely the indecisive person! But you just helped me relax about the idea of a sleeve!
Most of the time I just say “ here is 300 dollars I need my ditch filled in do whatever “
I’m really glad you made this video. My tattoo artist, while I love him he is very worried that he won’t do well in tying my whole entire sleeve together so he’s just being indecisive. I have a lot of traditional and steam punk style tattoos and they’re relatively the same type of style.
"I do more lines than Charlie Sheen" EPIC
I’ve definitely been worrying way too much about placement and how to combine different themes in my first sleeve so thank you for the reassurance and encouragement! I feel like I’m a lot closer to finally starting now :)
